I played this when I was a young boy on the NES, when you say there wasn't alot of RPG's out then, that wasn't a lie. This was ground breaking and awesome in its time. Apparently now it's a relic, but for those who played it when we were young, this thing is nostalgic and priceless.
Quite true, the only other game I had played was Dragon Warrior. I hadn't even heard of the Phantasy Star series until well after the Genesis model 2 was released.
As a kid it was too complicated. I revisited it a few years later as a teen. And I have tried to play through it once a year as an adult. At this point it’s meditative. Helps clear my mind. I play through it almost entirely memory.
@@kevlar2125 SO GOOD! It's got some comically cheesy writing in it, but the actual story of it is really nice and I think adds a lot to FF1. (especially the ending). I was so confused by the graphics here. I played the game on original NES when I was a kid and didn't realize it was ever remastered and finally beat it on an NES emulator years later. I wasn't terrible at the game as a kid, my sister just kept playing it and sleeping at the inn which overwrites your save.

Are all ff games connected? 8:25 people living in an airship and a guy named "Cid" Ff7 had a guy named Cid Highwind who helped Cloud in their adventures. And the family name of FF4's Kain Highwind is the same. Idk maybe they just reuse names alot but when u make the connections it makes it all plausible
Lu Xypher The names serve more of a homage to their original counterparts. Characters that share a name with another character from different game are only similar in the fact that they often share the same occupation. Cid for example has been in every Main title FF game since FF2 and all variants of him share the fact that he is some form of engineer or mechanic.
The are connected by the Void. Gilgamesh, despite his appearance, has been confirmed to be the same man in every cameo. Some summons do that too. In Dissidia the file for Ramuh mentions that he travels between dimensions and tells the story of FF2 to Garnet of FF9. Dissidia is pretty much canon to me as it shows the alternate world for FF1. So random (depending upon ones age) yet mysteriously imitating reality in many ways. One must know the very real 'fantasy' role of key players on the world stage, it puts into focus these last 50 yrs.
People talk about the rerelease of Skyrim when FF is still doing it and no one really complains. I have now bought the entire series twice so i could play them all on one vita vs worrying about whether my psp bumpers would wear out again. I despise those crappy little rub contacts.
i just started watching your videos explaining the stot of final fantasy games. is it possible to explain the events of final fantasy dissidia and dissidia doudecim?
Adding on to my previous comment, and after hammering a very healthy amount of hours into that stranger of paradise demo, there's only one issue I have with the game, it's awesome that you can repeat levels and on higher difficulty for better loot, but it is a colossal mistake the story scenes can not be rewatched, I really hope this is addressed other than that, I literally can not stop playing this game, my massive games library is on pause while I play this fantastic game, I sincerely hope others will put aside 'not my final fantasy' thoughts, it has a dangerously addictive gameplay loop, and I'll patiently look very forward to final fantasy 16 and ff7 part 2, sorry to Square Enix tho, your other projects don't hold interest to me, just feed me to the wheel of more final fantasy, and a massive thankyou for putting this video together FF4EVA! ❤️👍
You CAN rewatch the story scenes. A.) When you pause on the world map, there is an option called "Archive" and then there is a theater mode for all cutscenes. B.) If you wanted to see the cutscenes in the dungeons again, like your first time, I believe I found something in the options about "automatically skip cutscenes you have already seen." I believe this is turned on by default, but you can turn it off if you want.
Oh man. I forgot about this comment. I have caught up on your videos. You're awesome. Yes, I have probably played it more than any game. DS remake was really cool, too. I'd love to see FF7 remake quality applied to the game. I'm going through FF5 for the second time atm :D

Came after ending paradise
Did you like it?
So random (depending upon ones age) yet mysteriously imitating reality in many ways. One must know the very real 'fantasy' role of key players on the world stage, it puts into focus these last 50 yrs.
People talk about the rerelease of Skyrim when FF is still doing it and no one really complains. I have now bought the entire series twice so i could play them all on one vita vs worrying about whether my psp bumpers would wear out again. I despise those crappy little rub contacts.
The final fantasy 14 in me got me geeking
Nicely done!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and the game! Have you played it lately?
@@Xygor Not recently, but a few years ago I played it. Actually I'm playing through xenogears right now! That's one I never played back in the day.
@@joshdrewpic Nice, Xenogears is so good too!
Amazing
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and the game! Have you played it lately?
Lol I just finished watching a Chrono trigger music and I just laughed listening to the intro music
Only way to go!
i just started watching your videos explaining the stot of final fantasy games. is it possible to explain the events of final fantasy dissidia and dissidia doudecim?
Gotta love old games. Plots just a mess but you gotta love it
Are you going to make more fantasy complete story
@@gamingreploid1866 you absolute legend, How'd I miss that? Sweet as, thanks for that
@@gamingreploid1866 holy crap thank you
Thanks for leaving all your memories here!
request for iv, please. these are great. so detailed and concise
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and the game! I have done IV since this. Have you played it lately?
Oh man. I forgot about this comment. I have caught up on your videos. You're awesome. Yes, I have probably played it more than any game. DS remake was really cool, too. I'd love to see FF7 remake quality applied to the game. I'm going through FF5 for the second time atm :D
Did you say Nintendo Entertaintment Center?
Who's here for C H A O S?
Always here for Chaos!
I was, but I freaking killed him a few months ago.
Tried playing final fantasy to get into the whole franchise, quit because the random encounters was making me cry
Too many great memories to list. ♥️
Very true!
stranger of paradise brings me back here.
Was it good?
@@Xygor not complete yet broh, graphics awful but provides alternate perspectives of ff1 last dlc will be the story of luferians this year. Dislike about dlc is part of main story. Well if you fond of soulike genre this games is good , alot of shitposting and meme potential *jokes aside
No wonder why this hit so hard.....amazing story....lot of stuff to do THAT make sense.....and the infinite time loop thing is sure some crazy stuff for the old gamers....man I love final fantasy 😆😆😆
Yes, simple but amazing and timeless!
