I lived in Barrow for much of the 1960s and we used to get regular flooding events in the winter. I don't remember any thing quite as extensive as this although I have seen it worse under Barrow Bridge. I wonder whether the building of the A6 bypass right up the middle of the valley has made it worse?

People who "think" that this volume of water falling in a few hours can be handled by a clean drainage system, really need to get out more.
I know that it's a popular talking point and gives all a chance to hate on someone else again, but really? PLEASE think about it.The rivers are overflowing their frigging banks, how are the drainage channels supposed to discharge their water if the outlets are BELOW the water level. It's just physics.

Use an establishing shot and describe the problem, situation by situation. And leave spaces when you don't say anything. So people can grasp what the situation is.
