i swear the clinking-ish sound in the instrumental around 2:50 , i thought of how sometimes people will call the bartender over for another drink by clinking a utensil to their empty glass. maybe just my interpretation, but it fit to me after she sung of drinking earlier in the song and how many will drink away their woes. mitski's sound, her visuals, her writing is what made me truly fall in love with the act of creation. i get the same feelings of inspiration blooming in my chest with each album, just different flowers

the song's instrumental and its visuals are so nostalgic, it makes me think of vintage photos and antiques, old film and and animation and I spy books. and yet, the lyrics bring it all together as a drunken reminiscence of what used to be, listlessness as nostalgia and loneliness blur the edges between the bar and the memories of love and the want for return, back to love or even just back home, wishing someone was waiting out for you either way. absolutely stunning, she's done it again, my gasts are thoroughly flabbered and I adore this so dearly.
