@@ច័ន្ទបូរីThe Apsara costumes that are worn by Khmer dancers in the last sixty plus years, is not entirely accurate. When the dance was created, the costumes reflected an era when there was a conservative attitude towards the female's body. They didn't allowed any bare midriff, that's why they wore leotard tops instead of a wrap around tube top(chong pong); it would've been more historically accurate. I'm very glad and happy to see, the great initiative and efforts undertaken by young Khmer designers, who are helping to revive all of the various aspects of the ancient arts, especially with the period costumes and jewelries. I'm quite impressed, it's looking very accurate to what was worn during the Angkorian times. I hope that the Royal University of Fine Arts would make changes, and start having the dancers wear the more accurate version, like how it is depicted on the walls of the ancient temples.
@@Nharayanaa I agree, but that because Khmer has so many different styles of costume that is why they keep changing the costumes all the time and I agree that it is not a good idea too .

Where is this performance at? I really like the extra fabrics hanging off the sides of her sampot.
It is Khmer’s traditional dancing uniform back to 10 centuries. Now it still uses by Khmer dancers in Cambodia.

@@ច័ន្ទបូរីI hate to admit, the Siams have done a better job in preserving and upholding our traditions, than we ourselves. 😏

Siam keep up Khmer tradition 100% because they want to own it. And Khmer did not really care about it but keep changing all the times
