USA citizen here. Found your video very informative. When I saw that first car behind you in the video, I wondered if that was what you were driving. I have found that my driving a 370Z has resulted in my being stopped over the smallest of issues, such as two miles over speed limit, following too closely, etc., with only warnings issued. Really curious about your dash cam video and whether it shows a date and time throughout it?
My issue is I'm in the USA but I had a speeding ticket. It started from me waiting at a light this car comes in my lane almost hitting me turning. So I start going under the speed limit to let them pass he or she does it (slows down) as well. Once again almost sideswiped me. I speed up to get away they do the same yet again almost sideswiping me. At this point, I get pissed & speed up to 60 mph in a 45 then slow down once away. A cop comes out of no place with an attitude did not even ask me why I was speeding just gives me a ticket. I have no video proof just my word. Sadly I had one other speeding ticket due to idiots like that once before normally I am a chill driver till people try to sideswipe me. I get so pissed because they always get me & I'm a good driver.

i sent 2 certfied such letters to a Ca court, they sent me back 2 letters one saying we got your letter and will add it to your case. the other letter they sent said I must pay or possible go to jail. I did not want to sign the ticket but the sheriff said that he would take me to jail if i didnt sign.

They called me to tell me that such footage had been deleted. I think that is grounds for dismissal howe er I still plan on attending the court date at the end of October however would like to write them a letter to see if I can save myself a trip to court since I live like three hours away now. There is an error in the officer notes. Did he issue the driver a citation or the vehicle? How is a vehicle going to pay for a citation? Uniform Commercial Codes can be beneficial as well... These citations are offers to contract with the "ENS LEGIS" the "YOU" that is not "you". In the USA it is STATUTE 77, PUBLIC LAW 88-243, UCC 1-207. Every state has adopted at least a portion of THE UCC. The last state was Louisiana under TITLE 10, in which UCC 1-207 was changed to UCC 1-308. Reserve All your Rights Without Prejudice. You can also rescind the contract with the court (within 3 days).
I think because they want to make the process as inconvenient to the person requesting it. But regardless they do prepare and provide you the info you want!
They advise you when you can come pick your disclosure package up and then from there you can decide what you’d like to do. I’d recommend following the same steps I always do to get tickets thrown out!

No, you can request an evidence disclosure without any plea. This is a total separate department of Alberta Justice (Follow the link in description to request your disclosure package) And yes, if you deem not worth fighting, you can still request a reduction before your trial. Requesting the disclosure information has no bearing on the outcome of your case or anything like that. Let me know how you make out!

However, I would still recommend you follow all the steps in the video. Submit an evidence disclosure request through our local government online portal. Review the evidence and then do 1 of 2 things. 1) Ask the crown to dismiss the charges based on the evidence they have. (They could have ZERO evidence against you!) Or if they have solid evidence you did it, plead your ignorance and ask for forgiveness and they will likely reduce the fine and demerits based on your story of moving here. Let me know how it goes!

Canadian speed limits, especially in Alberta are INSANE. One moment it's 50 the next it's 110 on the same road. There's not even any consistency (like slower in a town, faster out in the open). I'm American and gotten 2 tickets both in Alberta. Rogers pass and the road to Jasper. I just paid the fine since Canadian tickets don't go on my American record anyway.
My red light camera ticket I got in September 2020 got withdrawn in March last month. Than I got a letter from the court house few days later saying that I'm convicted for the ticket in my absence for the same ticket that was withdrawn, they another $86 for late charges totalling almost $500. So I had to fill out a form called "To set aside a conviction." Filled it out and 2 days later I got a email from the court house saying my ticket has been withdrawn.

Is this available in BC? Monday for Family Day was on my way to work, got flagged in by a random speed trap, officer stated he clocked me at 80km/h which is excessive speeding in BC, a few moments later while he wrote my ticket he stated I was nearly at 90km/h. I know for a fact that I was going slightly over 50km/h speed limit but no where near excessive. Officer than on my ticket wrote "Speeding in a municipality" and wrote 80 in a 50 zone. Officer never showed me his radar/laser which clocked me which I find kind of odd, and I also find how he changed the supposed clocked speed and ticket terminology. Quite an aggressive encounter so I decided to leave it how it was in fear that the officer would punish me more if I agitated him. Been driving for almost 7 years now, clean history never to be flagged or pulled over, this technically would be my first ticket. Find it harsh for a first time offence to be slapped 3 penalty driving points and pay a max fine for my tier ticket

Hi IMCARS, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I got a ticket recently and my ticket is about, FAILURE TO STOP AT STOP SIGN. Actually, it was not my mistake, but still, the officer told me I had made a mistake, I had not done a complete stop. In short, I stopped at 4 way stop and yielded the 1st guy from my right-hand side who stopped before me, I had the right to go, so I accelerated but the 2nd guy who came next on my right-hand side, didn't stop at all, he is supposed to be caught, but police office took me aside assuming I didn't stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection as another vehicle was proceeding. Do you think I can write a letter to resolve the situation?

I’m not sure if the exact method in BC, but I would recommend by starting to Search British Columbia evidence disclosure request and see what comes up! There will be a way for sure!

Thanks again; as you recommended, I requested the Evidence Disclosure; I just got the information back and all they have is the ticket and my request for court. Does this mean they don’t have any prove against me? My case is about flashing light to advise drivers of police trap and police using the wrong Florida statue.
@@robertbritton9865 In our local jurisdiction (Alberta Canada) yes that would mean they have Zero evidence and its your word against theres and likely can get it thrown out or will win if brought to court (not legal advise)
In USA, it's usually easier to pay $250 flat fee to hire a traffic lawyer and 99% almost guaranteed dismissal. If you're trying to save money, yes, always ask for discovery (as it's called in US). If they don't respond, you can ask judge to throw it out for lack of discovery. If cop doesn't show up, ask judge to dismiss. If they give you the discovery and the cop shows up, your odds aren't so good, so be prepared to lose. If you want a near guaranteed win, hire the lawyer.
@@hifiandrewI win by requesting the discovery & going to court. The police provided the wrong statue and tried to makeup his own reason. Here in St Lucie county Florida, I needed to go to court three times but I got justice. They fire the police before my final trial.

Didn’t even have to fight it to win, the prosecutor determined there was no evidence based on my request and threw it out!

Monday for Family Day was on my way to work, got flagged in by a random speed trap, officer stated he clocked me at 80km/h which is excessive speeding in BC, a few moments later while he wrote my ticket he stated I was nearly at 90km/h. I know for a fact that I was going slightly over 50km/h speed limit but no where near excessive. Officer than on my ticket wrote "Speeding in a municipality" and wrote 80 in a 50 zone.
Officer never showed me his radar/laser which clocked me which I find kind of odd, and I also find how he changed the supposed clocked speed and ticket terminology. Quite an aggressive encounter so I decided to leave it how it was in fear that the officer would punish me more if I agitated him.
Been driving for almost 7 years now, clean history never to be flagged or pulled over, this technically would be my first ticket. Find it harsh for a first time offence to be slapped 3 penalty driving points and pay a max fine for my tier ticket

I have a careless driving zoom court today in 4hrs, do I admit guilt and say it was my first time getting pulled over and ask for the points removed? I already changed the date. And I’m in college hoping to join the police academy next winter do I mention this to the judge to let him know I want to pursue a life of being a cop? Someone please respond

What if they have evidence of me driving recklessly and I got 1 citation with 2 tickets or wtv tf, and they tacked on a needs exhaust or muffler or wtv but I have no exhaust mod whatsoever, car isn’t even that loud

Yes it does, find your local version of this in terms of evidence disclosure request and get it thrown out!

Hi IMCARS, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I got a ticket recently and my ticket is about, FAILURE TO STOP AT STOP SIGN. Actually, it was not my mistake, but still, the officer told me I had made a mistake, I had not done a complete stop. In short, I stopped at 4 way stop and yielded the 1st guy from my right-hand side who stopped before me, I had the right to go, so I accelerated but the 2nd guy who came next on my right-hand side, didn't stop at all, he is supposed to be caught, but police office took me aside assuming I didn't stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection as another vehicle was proceeding. Do you think I can write a letter to resolve the situation?

It should! Your local area should have a department dedicated to evidence disclosure requests

I’m not sure if the exact method in BC, but I would recommend by starting to Search British Columbia evidence disclosure request and see what comes up! There will be a way for sure!

Thanks for the comment. Yes very likely! You will need to find your local agency that handles evidence disclosure requests and start with that. This is what any traffic lawyer would be doing on your behalf, so there is a way! Hope it works out for you!
Thanks again; as you recommended, I requested the Evidence Disclosure; I just got the information back and all they have is the ticket and my request for court.

@@robertbritton9865 In our local jurisdiction (Alberta Canada) yes that would mean they have Zero evidence and its your word against theres and likely can get it thrown out or will win if brought to court (not legal advise)
In USA, it's usually easier to pay $250 flat fee to hire a traffic lawyer and 99% almost guaranteed dismissal. If you're trying to save money, yes, always ask for discovery (as it's called in US). If they don't respond, you can ask judge to throw it out for lack of discovery. If cop doesn't show up, ask judge to dismiss. If they give you the discovery and the cop shows up, your odds aren't so good, so be prepared to lose. If you want a near guaranteed win, hire the lawyer.

The police provided the wrong statue and tried to makeup his own reason.
Here in St Lucie county Florida, I needed to go to court three times but I got justice. They fire the police before my final trial.
Seems like this stategy is way out of date, since Ca has gone full tyrannical.
