As person who never played Hitman before, but seen the previous episode, I can confirm this is the right and most optimal way to play hitman.

Either way tho, im glad to experience someone else actually appreciating these games instead of just speedrunning it in the unintentionally worst ways possible

No lmao, the way Matt plays is the unintentionally worst way possible. He tries to play it like GTA when it is not even close the being similar to it.
Not saying i didn’t enjoy most of these vids but this definitely is the one of the worst ways to play the game, much worse than speed running imo. At least speedrunners understand/use the games mechanics and play with silent assassin as the goal, which for me is the “ideal” way to play at least based on the game design. They are breaking the game, yes, but very intentionally.
Matt ran through every level with no thought or pre planning, basically killing people at random until he got to the target. There’s multiple times that he doesn’t even realize he eliminates the target because it just happened by coincidence while he was shooting everyone in sight. Didn’t use hitman vision once in his play through of the first two games. Constantly running straight into enforcers, doing blatantly obvious crimes in the open without any care for who sees. The most creative kill he managed in the span of two games was to knock someone out with a shovel and then break their neck. I’ll accept an argument for the push kill at the end as well.
Not saying there’s anything wrong with playing like that or that I don’t enjoy these videos but not once does he ever try to actually play hitman imo . He kinda just blissfully canters through the game like it’s a mass murder simulator with no desire to engage with or learn the games mechanics or design. If we’re ranking them this is definitely the “worst way” to play hitman, or really any game. He fully ignores every mechanic that makes the game unique, doesn’t ever attempt to play with concept of stealth in mind and basically forces the game into being a generic 3rd person point and click shooter.
I paused at 40:25 and came back a day later and scared myself.

As a swede, the ICA background with the narration about assassin's working for ICA very nearly had me needing to clean off a mouthful of coffee from my screen. I used to work for their largest competitor in Sweden for 16 years, guess that's why I was never really that successful as an assassin. 😂

Is okay that you get 2 stars DarkViperAU, they did it that way on purpose because they want you to play the game your own way. They didn't want to punish you for playing your own way, so they offer a superficial reward for people who play carefully, which doesn't affect people who don't.

Just a small funfact for you: You might have noticed that Hitman 2 had movies for cutscenes, while Hitman 2 only had (mostly) still images with spoken lines. That is down to the fact, that Hitman 2 had a much lower budget then 1, because IOI Games weren't doing too good at the time they made Hitman 2 and they even thought about canceling it, which they luckily didn't do. But basically the cutscenes from Hitman 2 are improved scetches of how the cutscenes were planned to look, if they would have been made the way they were originally planned.
