I do absolutely not agree with Azula being that low on that list. She constantly won every fight, but the last against Katara. And after she regained her mental stability in the comics, she was nearly unstoppable again. She outdid Toph, Aang, Zuko over and over. She is also one of the most intelligent being in this universe

In the comics (her now being 16) she was back on track mentally and defeated Zuko easily again, though him being at almost peak. As for "Kamuricage Azula",she wasn't actually more powerful than Zuko,their fire clash was completely evenly matched,as well as their fire dagger clashes,she simply kicked him down cause she was more agressive. I will straight up assume the Zuko we see in the picture were the Gaang are full grown adults(were Aang has the beard etc) in their 30s is considerably more powerful than his father. Azula is consistently amongst the best HTH combatants (2v1ing Suki and Ty lee in a melee exchange and coming out on top, fighting a spirit version of ty lee in the spirit temple and easily dispatching it. off-screen beating Suki in a 1v1 in book 2, beating Zuko's fire daggers with no bending in her very first fight...) She is the most varied lightning bender, with instants lightning, lightning orbs, using lightning to blind people and creating spheres of lightning with her hands, along with now knowing lightning redirection. She stomps Zuko as has been shown post smoke and shadow. A theoretical Prime Azula surpasses Ozai but speaking in terms of actual feats... Azula quite literally is 2nd or 3rd. you can debate her or Iroh, Iroh doesn't have instant lightning or lightning spheres nor any of the other applications Azula has used in the post series material. Iroh is strong but Azula is no slouch in melee/HTH combat as mentioned earlier.
Exsactly. The only real feats of Ozai we have is during the comet where every firebender is a demi-god for a day. And him burning his teenage suns face while he did not fight back. Then as an adult Zuko could have straight up killed him by redirecting his lightning bolt into his face. Azula was the one who won the world for him, or rather he bred her for it. Its why once he put her on charge of the fire natiin and left her she had a breakdown. The only one who evet beat her easy is Iroh, who was a decorated General, learned from all nations, and the last Dragons. And is just talented beyond anything. General Iroh above Mako is laughable. Not saying he is not good but he has no feats to put him above most of the people on this list. And without Avatars Mako should be in top 5. What I find most interesting about the original Avatar show was the fact that the original benders were animals. As a matter of fact theyre even more powerful than the human characters yet they usually mind their own business. Really shows how the show related to real life how wild animals should be respected and not tampered with. Ive literally seen a huge strong bodybuilder struggle a tug o war with a tiger. Wild animals dont play man.
I'd have to think that without the idea of power being stockpiled upon each avatar, Wan to this day would still be the most powerful as he spent basically 50 years straight in a war with humans and spirits and literally fought till the day he died. You have to be a complete master by that point.

This should be a showdown between ozai and Iroh. Zuko and Azula are great but compare to the fire lord and the dragon of the West it's no competition. As for who would win between Ozai and Iroh that's a tough question even Iroh thinks he doesn't know if he can beat Ozai.
I got Iroh. Iroh learned directly from the Dragons and based his fighting style not just off the fire nation but EVERY element. This is also why I'd put Zuko over Azula

For me, Azula is certainly one of the greatest tacticians in the verse, but I actually think Iroh might be the most tactical fighter in the show. He and Azula are both insanely smart with how they fight, but iroh’s got superior experience, more patience, his knowledge of other bending styles does make him more adaptable IMO, and he seems a bit better at thinking on the fly whereas Azula often times had time to plan out her fight strategies

As much as I love jeong jeong I think that both mako and general iroh should be above him, mako was literally self taught most of his life and only learnt a little from zolt, we also know that he is a master of lightning redirection as we saw him redirect the lightning and electricity from the mecha tank cable while still being electrocuted, and also is the single non avatar to ever resist even slightly the effects of blood bending and with that minimal mobility he had he managed to produce lightning which is probably the 2nd most impressive use of lightnings bending in the franchise under ozai super fast lightning with the eclipse just ending, and the fact he managed to keep his lightning steady while suffering from spirit powered electricity And also you got his brother name wrong his brother is bolin, ahsuk is a really week waterbender that was with them on the fire ferrets
I’m 50/50. Jeong Jeong did more outright powerful firebending than Iroh did. He created a massive fire wall that burned on water, without an external heat source or comet. And he can do sustained flight.

Palpatine/Ozai in questionably have better combat abilities but Yoda/Iroh specialize in subtle spiritual abilities. To Ozai’s credit he also showed extremely finesse with lighting, excellent firebending control with flight and can sense the sunlight underground.

I think Lightning Bolt Zolt could've taken Zhao easy. Zhao didn't even master lightning and was shown to not even be able to control his fire. Also, Zuko was NOT more powerful than Azula. She was "off" when she was defeated. And it took 2 people to do it. Did you even watch the series? 🤦♂️

First off, Ozi was not as powerful as his older brother-Iroh. In his prime, Iroh was a legendary firebender known as the Dragon of the West. He also learnt the secret of firebending from the dragons themselves (Ozi never did). In addition to that, Iroh learnt to redirect lightning (Ozi never did). Second, Azula has shown way more skill as a firebender than Ozi, as a 16 year-old kid she'd already reached the highest levels of firebending and martial arts in general. In later comics, Azula surpasses her younger self and therefore should be ranked even higher than Ozi. She also learns how to redirect lightning, too. Both Iroh and Azula are higher level firebenders than Ozi.

My man DanCo actually took my recommendation from the last video and did an avatar video. My man! Thanks DanCo! Few disagreements for me though. 1) I think Combustion Man should be above Mako, Iroh II and definitely Azulon (due to lack of feats). CM was making multi city block level blasts that were going through toph and katara’s defences, which shows way more power and combat ability than any of those 3 2) P’Li, Combustion Man, Jeong Jeong, Azula and definitely Zuko (happy to see you put Zuko above Azula) should all be above the Avatars (unless we consider the avatar state) and Sozin due to comparable feats of power and scale, but way better feats of combat ability and skill. 3) Iroh and Ozai should be above the dragons as weaker firebenders killed dragons for sport, so it should stand to reason that 2 Grandmaster level firebenders can take the dragons.
Mako's firebending is honestly a disgrace, and the notion that he is somehow better than ANY of the named characters in this list is laughable AT BEST. Dude could barely 1v1 a LONE Kuvira guard. You know, FODDER. I agree with Iroh and Ozai being #2 and #1, respectively, but I think Sozin would be #3. That fire plume was gigantic, and Roku relied on earth- and airbending to defeat Sozin, seemingly not wanting to battle fire to fire.

The mispronunciation of Ozai and Azulon is low key disrespectful and annoying. Ozai’s name is said regularly. Azulon is said a few times from the great gates to Zuko alone flashbacks when Ozai was crowned.
As somebody who’s watched this series since it originally aired as a kid, has read EVERY comic book and novel in franchise (yangchen and Kyoshi’s novels SLAP highly recommended) and rewatched each episode of each show like a billion times I can say confidently and without any bias this list is wack. Azula mops the floors with Zuko, he legit was only a match for her during the comet becuase she was in a full on psychotic break. In other words he was only able to beat her in his BEST form while she was in her weakest. She beat the breaks off him again afterwards in the comics so 🤷🏻♂️ Zuko and Azula are in the same category as Toph, Katara and aang in the sense that they were some of the best benders EVER depicted in franchise, including being SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than almost every other team avatar seen in cannon be it Korra, Kyoshi, kuruk or Yangchens groups. They have some of the best feats EVER in current cannon full stop… And they did it by the time they were all YOUNG teens. If we’re talking Zuko and Azula in their PRIMES then they’d both be at the top, legit the only things Ozai and iroh have over them is experience but being prodigies that advantage will drop REAL fast as they age up. Also like, how Tf are we gonna Put Wan ABOVE so many of these masters. Avatar state doesn’t count it’s a cheat basically 😭🙌I understand the creation of the dragon technique was him but still, comparing the skill of bending during HIS time to what it evolved into during Aang’s time is night and day. Bending would have improved MAJORLY over THOUSANDS of years and I fail to see how his techniques and abilities would be seen as anything but basic comparatively in a world where people have been perfecting this thing HE created for generations. Azula beats Zuko easily, as the comics have showcased, she is either 2nd or 3rd. Azula is consistently amongst the best HTH combatants (2v1ing Suki and Ty lee in a melee exchange and coming out on top, fighting a spirit version of ty lee in the spirit temple and easily dispatching it. off-screen beating Suki in a 1v1 in book 2, beating Zuko's fire daggers with no bending in her very first fight...) She is the most varied lightning bender, with instants lightning, lightning orbs, using lightning to blind people and creating spheres of lightning with her hands, along with now knowing lightning redirection. She stomps Zuko as has been shown post smoke and shadow. A theoretical Prime Azula surpasses Ozai but speaking in terms of actual feats... Azula quite literally is 2nd or 3rd. you can debate her or Iroh, Iroh doesn't have instant lightning or lightning spheres nor any of the other applications Azula has used in the post series material. Iroh is strong but Azula is no slouch in melee/HTH combat as mentioned earlier.
Exsactly. The only real feats of Ozai we have is during the comet where every firebender is a demi-god for a day.
And him burning his teenage suns face while he did not fight back. Then as an adult Zuko could have straight up killed him by redirecting his lightning bolt into his face.
Azula was the one who won the world for him, or rather he bred her for it. Its why once he put her on charge of the fire natiin and left her she had a breakdown.
The only one who evet beat her easy is Iroh, who was a decorated General, learned from all nations, and the last Dragons. And is just talented beyond anything. He just tossed her aside when she nearly killed Zuko.
But having said that Ozai in comparrison is quiet weak. Stronger then your run of the mill fire bender. But below Zuko.
Azula beats so many quiwt easily that it's absolutely fair to put her right below Iroh and maybe Jeong Jeong.

What I find most interesting about the original Avatar show was the fact that the original benders were animals. As a matter of fact theyre even more powerful than the human characters yet they usually mind their own business. Really shows how the show related to real life how wild animals should be respected and not tampered with. Ive literally seen a huge strong bodybuilder struggle a tug o war with a tiger. Wild animals dont play man.

I'd have to think that without the idea of power being stockpiled upon each avatar, Wan to this day would still be the most powerful as he spent basically 50 years straight in a war with humans and spirits and literally fought till the day he died. You have to be a complete master by that point.

For me, Azula is certainly one of the greatest tacticians in the verse, but I actually think Iroh might be the most tactical fighter in the show. He and Azula are both insanely smart with how they fight, but iroh’s got superior experience, more patience, his knowledge of other bending styles does make him more adaptable IMO, and he seems a bit better at thinking on the fly whereas Azula often times had time to plan out her fight strategies

As much as I love jeong jeong I think that both mako and general iroh should be above him, mako was literally self taught most of his life and only learnt a little from zolt, we also know that he is a master of lightning redirection as we saw him redirect the lightning and electricity from the mecha tank cable while still being electrocuted, and also is the single non avatar to ever resist even slightly the effects of blood bending and with that minimal mobility he had he managed to produce lightning which is probably the 2nd most impressive use of lightnings bending in the franchise under ozai super fast lightning with the eclipse just ending, and the fact he managed to keep his lightning steady while suffering from spirit powered electricity
And also you got his brother name wrong his brother is bolin, ahsuk is a really week waterbender that was with them on the fire ferrets
I’m 50/50. Jeong Jeong did more outright powerful firebending than Iroh did. He created a massive fire wall that burned on water, without an external heat source or comet. And he can do sustained flight.

@@martyjrspoon that’s matter of opinion I suppose. I see Iroh and Ozai as more like Yoda and Palpatine. Palpatine/Ozai in questionably have better combat abilities but Yoda/Iroh specialize in subtle spiritual abilities. To Ozai’s credit he also showed extremely finesse with lighting, excellent firebending control with flight and can sense the sunlight underground.

Mako’s brother is Bolin
First off, Ozi was not as powerful as his older brother-Iroh. In his prime, Iroh was a legendary firebender known as the Dragon of the West. He also learnt the secret of firebending from the dragons themselves (Ozi never did). In addition to that, Iroh learnt to redirect lightning (Ozi never did).
Second, Azula has shown way more skill as a firebender than Ozi, as a 16 year-old kid she'd already reached the highest levels of firebending and martial arts in general. In later comics, Azula surpasses her younger self and therefore should be ranked even higher than Ozi. She also learns how to redirect lightning, too. Both Iroh and Azula are higher level firebenders than Ozi.

Few disagreements for me though.
1) I think Combustion Man should be above Mako, Iroh II and definitely Azulon (due to lack of feats). CM was making multi city block level blasts that were going through toph and katara’s defences, which shows way more power and combat ability than any of those 3
2) P’Li, Combustion Man, Jeong Jeong, Azula and definitely Zuko (happy to see you put Zuko above Azula) should all be above the Avatars (unless we consider the avatar state) and Sozin due to comparable feats of power and scale, but way better feats of combat ability and skill.
3) Iroh and Ozai should be above the dragons as weaker firebenders killed dragons for sport, so it should stand to reason that 2 Grandmaster level firebenders can take the dragons.
All 4 firebenders in 2 are supoosed to be above Zuko. Ran and shaw are ranked as a Duo and they're not like other dragons.
Azula is no slouch. She’s a ridiculous heavyweight.

The mispronunciation of Ozai and Azulon is low key disrespectful and annoying. Ozai’s name is said regularly. Azulon is said a few times from the great gates to Zuko alone flashbacks when Ozai was crowned.

As somebody who’s watched this series since it originally aired as a kid, has read EVERY comic book and novel in franchise (yangchen and Kyoshi’s novels SLAP highly recommended) and rewatched each episode of each show like a billion times I can say confidently and without any bias this list is wack. Azula mops the floors with Zuko, he legit was only a match for her during the comet becuase she was in a full on psychotic break. In other words he was only able to beat her in his BEST form while she was in her weakest. She beat the breaks off him again afterwards in the comics so 🤷🏻♂️ Zuko and Azula are in the same category as Toph, Katara and aang in the sense that they were some of the best benders EVER depicted in franchise, including being SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than almost every other team avatar seen in cannon be it Korra, Kyoshi, kuruk or Yangchens groups. They have some of the best feats EVER in current cannon full stop… And they did it by the time they were all YOUNG teens. If we’re talking Zuko and Azula in their PRIMES then they’d both be at the top, legit the only things Ozai and iroh have over them is experience but being prodigies that advantage will drop REAL fast as they age up.
Also like, how Tf are we gonna Put Wan ABOVE so many of these masters. Avatar state doesn’t count it’s a cheat basically 😭🙌I understand the creation of the dragon technique was him but still, comparing the skill of bending during HIS time to what it evolved into during Aang’s time is night and day. Bending would have improved MAJORLY over THOUSANDS of years and I fail to see how his techniques and abilities would be seen as anything but basic comparatively in a world where people have been perfecting this thing HE created for generations.
