  • Every bag needs that one ball that can control the pocket when the lanes get tough. It's your go-to option that isn't too strong, isn't too weak, but always "just right." For years, several brands have tried to find the right recipe, and now Hammer has introduced a serious contender: the Scorpion Low Flare. Joe returns to find out just how good it can really be.

I have this ball and use it when the lanes start drying up with my black widow hybrid. I can move back right without all the over under the asyms have. Love the way it rolls.

Excellent comparison! Gives me more faith in my tour pearl. I have the GB2 and love it so much that I bought another one. My pro shop suggested the LF because I wanted to know if there was a ball with a little more drive than the GB2. I’m loving it , already thinking about another one. Ball just doesn’t quit!

I picked up the Scorpion LF as soon as it hit the market. I am a big Hammer fan but also a fan of the Scorpion line.
The LF fits perfectly in my bag in between the Scorpion Hybrid and the Scorpion Sting 🦂... nothing hits like a Hammer, noth8ng stings like a Scorpion

Have thrown the IQ's, the Stinger's. It's all about the control those types of balls provide. Can't wait to roll this one!

Great video! Just getting back into the game after 43 years off (LOL) and settled on getting this ball. I'm a lefty that use to avg. in the high 170's. Only ever used one ball. I've bowled 15 games with this ball and the drive through the pocket is impressive. I've averaged in the mid 160's so far but am seeing improvement, especially with spares (last three games, 178 avg). Struggling a bit to keep my first shot in the sweet spot (between 2nd an third arrow, left side) coming in high a lot. My ball speed could be the issue and have to work on that. Impact speed of just under 12 mph. Probably an age thing (71).😀15 lb. ball, wondering if I should have gone with 14.

The low flare is more stable down lane than the Envy tour. The Envy tour will be stronger than the low flare around three boards.

It would be along the same window but I feel it would be a little stronger. Overall

Shockl probably has more back end for most people, as it has more flare
