IMO this is a positive step and will help cut out some of the low content mass produced books. However, it makes following the TOS even more important and I hope that Amazon starts showing a bit more flex with that.
Hi Danny, I check my emails everyday, and so far I have not been asked for ID verification. Not that I am worried in any way, I am more than happy to show ID if and when KDP ask.

It’s difficult but you need to try to speak with them on the phone somehow
