Shangri La香格里拉
In the morning, we boarded a bus at Lijiang bus terminal, paying 70 RMB for the fare. After a 4-hour journey, we arrived in Shangri-La. Situated at an elevation of 3,450 meters, Shangri-La County, previously known as Zhongdian County Town, stands out for its rich Tibetan cultural heritage.
1) Napa Lake (纳帕海)
We hired a car for 150 RMB to reach Napa Lake from Shangri-La in 30minutes. Napa Lake is embraced by grasslands and cradled by mountains. The lake itself covers around 23 sq km, with an elevation of 3,270 meters. 20 rmb entrance ticket, opening hours 9:00am to 6:00pm.
2) Potatso national park (普达措国家公园)
It covers an area of 115 square miles and ranges from 3,827 yards to 4,548 yards high. There are three main scenic areas open to visitors: Bita Lake in the south, Shudu Lake, Militang Alpine Pasture. With Entrance ticket CNY 80 and Sightseeing bus CN¥ 100. Opening time 8:30 - 16:00.
Take the bus from Shangri-la Bus Station to Potatso; the bus departs at 8:00 and returns at 15:00; ticket fare is CNY 30 for a round-tip. Or By taxi: a round-trip costs CNY 150.
Bita Lake碧塔海
"Bita" signifies densely forested regions. Bitahai Lake sits at 3,500m elevation, spanning 159 hectares, averaging 20m deep. Renowned for clear waters, it's embraced by mountains and lush woods, forming picturesque surroundings.
Shudu Lake(属都湖):
Wetlands and meadows thrive in pristine condition in Potatso National Park, serving as a migratory bird haven. A quick 20-minute ride from the entrance's sightseeing bus stop. Known as a plateau gem, Shudu Lake sits 4,046 yards high. Its waters are clear, graced by groups of wild ducks and rare Liefu Fish.
Militang Alpine Pasture (高山柳)
Militang Alpine Pasture is roughly 3.7 miles away and a 10-minute drive from Shudu Lake. The sky above is blue with fluffy clouds, and the grassland looks like a huge golden carpet on the ground. You'll see yaks and sheep scattered around, and you might spot smoke coming from chimneys where herders live.
