This movie was 100% carried by her, solely. Which says a lot because Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright are immaculate actors. I hope she gives acting more attention this coming era. I really think that she's a much better actress than people give her credit for. She's a much more emotive artist than a lot of her peers. And that is integral to every great actress.

@@jaye5490 Well, You can't name a more promenent character then her. Her appearance in the movie is what coungers all the most authentic of reactions and impulses in people. Her journey is also, aside from Adrian Brody's character. is the most wholistic evolution of the full arc of a character. From vigor, anger, loss, defeat, resentment, and then into retaliation and all the way to resolve. You could feel and recognize all of those all throughout her acting. That's aside from the musical and showmanship atrributes to this one very short performance. No other character had that impact within this ensemble in that movie.

The part with Etta having a sexual relationship with Leonard is untrue Etta clarifies that in her biography but everything else in the movie is accurate with her character.

@@NoeThando01 Etta was not mad at this movie or Beyonce's performance, she attended the premiere and gave the film high praise when it came out. She only got mad a few months later because she felt Beyonce had stole her thunder when she was invited to sing At Last for Obama's inauguration instead of her. This movie had nothing to do with it.
