"Jesus knew His limits well. Strange as it may seem, He knew what we conveniently forget: time must be properly budgeted for the gathering of inner strength and resolve in order to compensate for one's weaknesses when spiritual warfare begins." Gordon McDonald
Comer has a unique gift to inject a keen sense of intellect into a vibrant and extremely pragmatic and applicable sermon. It’s monumental invaluable to listen to the whole sermon. For those short in time here are the 4 key takeaways: 1. Relax. Take things slow like Jesus did 2. Take a sabbath. A time to relax 3. Fellowship 4. Contemplative prayer 5. Freedom. By not having an attitude that life has to go a certain way. Christians can take all things good and bad and it wont affect our peace and joy.
The way John Mark uses psychology to support his point is such a blessing to me. Pretty much the only pastor I’ll still watch and want to follow the God he follows.

His full quote in context is “there is so much anxiety, fear, outrage, and anger; the world is in desperate need of followers of Jesus and others, to step in as a non anxious presence and break the viscious cycle.” Anyone can be a non anxious presence, but we as followers of Jesus have a call to it as an apprentice of Jesus
Possible he meant like that. But I am not really agreeing with him at that point if so, since real peace comes from God alone, from Jesus, from The Holy Spirit's Presence. @@namimoorecounty1296

Quote: our world is in desperate need of follwer of Jesus and others??? What others. There is one way...(13:20 minutes)
Out of context…need more well-adjusted people in the world
That caught my attention too.
His full quote in context is “there is so much anxiety, fear, outrage, and anger; the world is in desperate need of followers of Jesus and others, to step in as a non anxious presence and break the viscious cycle.”

Aside from a nice message, I love how John is throwing shade at the brits! Sorry its just funny
17:22
At 13:17 to 13:23 he says the "world is in need for followers of Jesus, and others" what does he mean by "others"? Like other saviors? I don't get it
No, I think he meant even people who don't follow Jesus (yet) can be a "non-anxious presence" in the world - at least that was my take on it.
