I can not say I totally agree here; Think about it, If Paul had a moment where he was filled with joy over his new bow because he has a passion for this hobby? No problem at all Paul! Enjoy your gift from the Lord, give Him thanks and spend some time with it then get back to serving Him in the Spirit! Only when you become obsessed with the fleshly world does it become an idol or god. Yes we should be on guard but let's not turn every happy moment or satisfaction into a reason to feel horrible! Yes, that was my thoughts exactly. If we filled our minds/thoughts with only things of/about the Lord, we wouldn't actually _do_ anything. Was the Apostle Paul thinking soley about the Lord whilst he was making tents to pay his way and not be a burden to anyone? And similarly with the Apostle Peter when he was fishing (for actual fish)...to put food on the table and make some money? The way I see Paul Washer's description of going out into the woods to hunt a deer...is a Godly thing to do...because the Lord will provide (the deer), and once it has been made unalive, *then* Paul can give thanks to the Lord for His provision. It's kind of a circular pattern of thoughts and actions...all coming back to the Lord.

The Word of God declares a person is a slave to whatever holds them in bondage. Many Christians still struggle with various forms of bondage, the flesh and Holy Spirit constantly oppose each other.
This is the attitude that gets people trapped. We shouldn't constantly be paranoid of traps, but there are certainly many traps, and they most powerful ones are aimed at those who should be close to jesus.
