OMG! Thank you!!! i was at this for almost 2 hours and couldnt figure out what i was missing. It was the checking of that box in listen tab, under Audio Recordings! Thanks again!
I have been searching for a solution for about a week and was very close to investing in a lav mic. You just saved me money and earned a sub. I would like to note that this also works with virtual desktop on the quest devices. Thanks so much my dude!
7 months late (Sorry! Was never notified!)...hope you were able to figure it out 😅 - but just in case someone else runs into a similar problem - you can use the audio mirroring setting in SteamVR to mirror the game audio to the "game" channel of the GoXLR. Then it'll be part of the Broadcast Stream Mix that's sent to OBS.
would i be able to use a modmic wireless for example as my mic input instead of quest2, while using the goxlr ? i connect my quest 2 via virtual desktop wirelessly and modmic works just fine but I have to use voicemeeter and I would like to get rid of voicemeeter and use the goxlr to route my audio. I currently have the revelator io24 which doesn't have a 3.5mm jack
That's not something I worried about when I streamed VR - I honestly don't know if there's a way - I just paid attention to the chat by docking it in-game using an app called XSOverlay.
This is an awesome video my man, appreciate you making it. I also have a newly bought GoXLR board with a valve index. The microphone works perfectly on it's own channel but I'm not getting audio to the Index floating speakers. Any ideas?
@@StreamScholar Thanks for the insanely quick response. I have it the same as yours except I have my audio mirroring to System and not Game but I have the Microphone mirroring a separate channel. So everything works but can't get any audio out of the floating speakers. Not sure if that helps? I'm going to drop a sub to your twitch channel for helping me out by the way!
I want to start recording RUclips videos instead of streaming. Is there anyway I can hear the audio if someone is talking to me in VR chat and when I speak I can use my blue yeti attached to a goxlr to change my voice when I am responding?
Unfortunately, the voice effects are limited to XLR microphones on the GoXLR as far as I know - but you could always try VoiceMod (It's software, and I think they have some free effects)
You'll be able to hear yourself if you route it through your headphones that are plugged into the GoXLR, but you won't be able to use the GoXLR voice mods with it, unforunately.
Oracles Stream School oh ok. That’s what I expected. That was Theo not reason I was even thinking about it. I was like” it would be soo cool and funny to change my voice while playing vrchat or something” but thx for telling me
After hours trying to figure it out I can't hear the PC audio on my Index. I mean... hear the sound for example youtube or even twitch and also the alerts from OBS on my headset. Any idea? Thank you ^^
VR isn't that intense on CPU and GPU, mine aren't maxed out most of the time and most games don't use multicores to the max, at most 3 or 4. SO go balls to the wall on a single pc setup, his mindset is a mindset which has more to do with spending money than anything else
How many of you have a VR Headset? 😄

Hi! What about getting the actual game audio through the GoXLR to OBS on my streaming PC?

looks like your setting up stream settings on the gaming computer ?

Curious, how would you go about hearing the audio from the streaming PC? How would you otherwise hear your stream alerts through the Index?

Wondering what the setup would be with Windows11 Cris.

I'd have to see your settings - you might have to mess audio mirroring in steamvr

Went through some troubleshooting and found out that I needed to mirror the HMD Index Audio and it worked like a champ. Cheers buddy!
When you get the noti off of discord instead of youtube
F
is there a way to play my sample the my index mic ?
I have a single pc setup and I'm lost lol. Feels like I'm just flipping through everything and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Send help.

YAS FIRST LIKE AND COMMENT
So you still able to mic monitor and use the voice mods with it?

does this work with the voice changer as well?
It does not, unfortunately 😕 - only the XLR input does.
Wait only 4h? Those are rookie number xD
Also we wouldn’t need to do any of this if we are using virtual desktop
this video is so good I downloaded it just in case I ever decided to stream in vr using a pc (●'◡'●)
