@@levijm825 In the DVD package there is a special segment with Jon and Greta working out the music. I really enjoyed seeing that. The amazing thing about this music, such as this piece, is that it fits so perfectly with the movie's storyline that I am only now actually "hearing it." It sounds great all by itself too.
such a beautiful coming of age movie, and something about the song makes it so existential and meaningful. maybe it descending reflects the degeneration of every human, becoming a woman and then becoming old. so emotional. i wonder what lady bird is doing now
So much nostalgia for me whenever I hear this. I first saw ladybird during the winter so this reminds me of all the snowy nights. And me and my first girlfriend were dating at the tine so every time I listen to it I get so many wonderful memories. During midterms I would wake up and play this song while I got ready, and something about that 5 minutes of bliss before a horrible test just made the day better than I would’ve been.
This song makes me feel like I'm walking in a continuous loop over and over again just thinking about life as I wonder if I'm mentally stable or if I'm mentally unstable as memories pass me by or like I'm physically present but mentally lost. This is one of my favourite songs because it help me stress a little less
I just watched the film and tbh i loved the whole soundtrack so much. then i wanted to search who scored the ost then i found out that Jon Brion (who is also scored Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind OST) scored it. then it all maked sense.
i agree. i didn't even want to see it at first because it came off as too quirky to me. when a youtuber i like (Elvis the Alien, god bless him) recommended it, however, i decided i should find out for myself. i'm so glad that i did.
I loved the ending. It showed us how much Christine is appreciative of her mom and how she is moving in a positive direction, without doing so in a cheesy hollywood way.
Seriously check out some of Jon Brion's music. As person above me said, he did the score for Eternal Sunshine, he also did Synecdoche New York, I think he did I Heart Huckabee's, and he also put out an album called Meaningless, which I've only found on youtube and is definitely worth listening to.
Not exactly similar, but I think Brion's Punk Drunk Love is his masterpiece. And the score from the Netflix show Black Mirror episode 2: Fifteen Million Merits sounds very Amelie (another great score)/Eternal Sunshine-esque.
the movie Paranorman, particularly the tune "Norman's walk". If you like the ladybrid soundtrack, you will absolutely eat the paranorman soundtrack up :)
I feel so much emotion from this song. The notes are so simple, but something so impactful and moving radiates from them. It’s just... indescribable.
That's jon brion for you.

The quote “I’m physically present but mentally lost” really resonated with me
I saw this movie the other night for the first time. It is now one of my favs.

Jon Brion is the GOAT
This was snubbed at the Oscars
the opening brings me back to middle school band, I miss hearing clarinets and flutes
this just makes me want to drive in a sunny country side with all the windows down blasting that would be awesome ❤️🥰

냄새 진한 꽃밭 위에 벌들이 어지러이 날아다니는 듯한… 불안정한 레이디버드의 마음을 너무 잘 표현한 곡
i like to come back to this song every few months
I love Jon brion so much 💜
This movie was moving and captivating.

I'm surprised Kanye doesn't work with this guy more often, he really produces some beautiful music.
Does Kanye works with him really?
@@dioalfonso Jon was an executive producer on kanye's second album and he did some work on kanye's third album as well.
Can someone recommend other films that has a score like this one?
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (also by Jon Brion)

Do you know if theres sheet music for this anywhere?
Sacramentans comment here
I love this but it doesn't hit the notes it did in the movie
yeah i liked that version more
0:25 for myself
Steph I 💖
This track reminds me of "Kegarenaki Itazura" by Yuki Kajiura. Does anyone hear that, too?
Why do i hear bach at the beginning
Probably has something to do with the main character's connection to religion. I haven't watched the movie since it came out so I might be wrong.
is it just me or this score reminds me of Bully rockstar game
first song i’m listening to as a 17 year old (stole this idea from another commenter lol)
It sounds like Bella's lullaby
Nauce! 😁
Only god knows what's gonna happen if jon brion works with jonny greenwood
I feel like Tyler the Creator on “I don’t love you anymore” took this melody
i agree. i suppose everybody must get their inspiration from somewhere.
