  • Tarzan Reaction is today's video!
Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Tarzan today and relive my childhood!
In this Disney animated tale, the orphaned Tarzan (Tony Goldwyn) grows up in the remote African wilderness, raised by the gentle gorilla Kala (Glenn Close). When a British expedition enters the jungle, Tarzan encounters the beautiful Jane (Minnie Driver) and recognizes that, like her, he's human. Falling in love with Jane, Tarzan is torn between embracing civilization and staying with his gorilla family, which becomes threatened by the ruthless hunter Clayton (Brian Blessed).

The shadow of Clayton's hanging body was always there. some might have missed it since the focus of the camera is mostly on his machette and Tarzan. I had a friend who didn't noticed it either but later on saw it and was flabbergasted an image like this passed the censors.
yet again, we did see Tarzan's parent's corpses lying there as well, blood and all. Disney used to have balls I tell ye

Me too, as a kid all I remembered the scene from Carla finding the treehouse was the feathers floating on the ground, I only saw the blood and the parents’ bodies when I was older (like 10+ years I guess). And then years later I learned about Clayton’s scene from some movie trivia page. Guess I was not the brightest kid!

I saw it when the movie came out. My parents and younger siblings missed it then, thankfully.... But yeah. Years later, they were shocked to see what they had missed too. I have a theory... Most young kids may see the image and not know what it means and discount/forget it... There are ALOT of adult references in our childhood Fave movies...

Tarzan actually has a special place in my heart, cause since I was three up until I was 14 I was part of a local dance studio in my hometown. We performed a gala at the local theatre every year, and one of the themes that we did the most was Disney ❤️❤️. What makes Tarzan special though is that it was actually the first time I ever performed a solo after I went up to the advanced level, and I played the part of Jane. I had the movie so I watched it for the first time in a while to see how to style myself, and ever since watching it has brought up that memory 😍❤️. I performed a routine to You’ll Be In My Heart and Strangers Like Me, and it ended up being one of the last times I ever performed as a full time member. That memory is super special to me, and recently my old instructor sent out a message to all older members available to RSVP for a special 20th anniversary performance ❤️❤️. So I’m gonna return there soon and hopefully see some of my older classmates. Thanks for bringing up such a special memory of my childhood Cody, and I’m exited for Beauty And The Beast cause it’s one of my favorites ❤️❤️

First Tarzan’s parents get mauled to death by a leopard, then Kerchak getting shot by Clayton, followed by his accidental self-hanging, totally kid-friendly!

The original opening is much darker than the one we got. It actually showed Sabor killing Tarzan’s Dad.

In the original books( yes there are books) Tarzans real name is John Clayton the 3rd he's the heir to the Clayton family fortune. Clayton is his cousin and in the book it wasn't the leopard that killed Tarzans parents it was the apes that raised him. They beat his dad to death.

Tarzan is underrated for its epic soundtrack, the action, and appreciate the voice performances. I even find it funny now that I never knew that Tantor was voiced by Wayne Knight who was Newman in Seinfeld 🤣🤣. I watched Tarzan and Jurassic Park before Seinfeld that finds it so interesting 😂❤.

Phil Collins sings the soundtrack in the french version too (like with " Brother Bear "). It made me time for recognize his voice.
If you didn't know it, there's a theory saying Jane is the grandaughter of Belle and the Beast

About Jane's dress at the minute 20:20, the movie is set in the end of the XIX century, so it's actually something that women who did travel would wear (pants weren't yet approved for women in most countries at the time)

The reason Tarzan couldn't climb so well on the ship is because he wears shoes here, making him unable to get a grip on the surface unlike he usually does when he's barefoot.

I just love the use of combining hand drawn animation for the characters, painted backgrounds, and cgi for moving objects like trees and water. They did the same thing for Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and Lilo & Stitch
