Gundam Thunderbolt is the best example of shades of gray because there’s no real good guy or bad guy, but will leave a bitter sweet ending when it’s all over. This is the best UC century gundam up to date because of the animation production. Really love this series, and really want it to come back soon.
@@rappa4297 Two weeks later, but anyways; UC means Universal Century, it's basically the most important Gundam timeline, starting all the way in 1979 with the original Mobile Suit Gundam. The recent movie Hathaway's Flash is part of the UC too!
*Gundam: The 08th MS Team* is also a great Gundam series that’s well-grounded. It takes place in the same war as *Thunderbolt: December Sky* but it focuses on the war on Earth from the Federation perspective.
it's a great way to start, I was always put off by how massive the franchise is but not only do I want to continue the manga for this, I want to try more Gundams after watching this one!
Glad you finally got to see Jazz Gundam. It really shows the insanity and brutality of war with a great OST. For more gritty Universal Century goodness, I highly recommend Gundam 0080, 0083, 08th MS Team and The Origin.
The way darryl looks at his right arm at the end of December sky, implying that all his progress meant nothing when he was nearly killed by the earth federations weakest unit. It’s that kind of visual story telling that makes these films so impressive
This is the epitome of gundam hands down. I love gundam but this blew me away. No stupid love stories, more character focus and the the visuals/music is just so beautiful. Gundam needs more mature series. I feel like they gloss over the horrors of war but this really nailed it. To me this is the GoT of Gundam
I was never huge into mech series but if you are recommending it then I gotta check it out! Pretty cool you got those review copies, I bet some V.I.P. treatment was fun! You deserved it since your reviews are always solid.
I love December Sky to death; it along with Zeta, X, and Char's Counterattack make up the best Gundam media of all time imo. For me, Bandit Flower was a downgrade in every aspect, but it was still somewhat enjoyable.
I really found Bandit Flower to be more gripping in some ways naratively but action wise December Sky knocked it away. Binged together though they make a near perfect but incomplete package as we wait for more.
Some of the underwater scenes reminded me of the scenes where The pilot's caught in the earth's atmosphere with underpowered m.s. is just hopeless and they just burn up on entry
Well you saying that now about which side to go for because you haven't experienced the Universal Century(UC) Timeline of Gundam but you need to. It's a better story of Gundam that goes deep into the Earth Federation and the Zeons. I’ve always been meh with Gundam anime. I’ve only watched Blood orphans, which I did like, and seed destiny which I didn’t like as much. I only watched them cause that’s what my brother was watching. But I never was really into Gundam. But this series is addicting and I just want more. It’s the first Gundam I’ve watched on my own because I felt like it and I don’t regret it.

im just getting in the gundam stuff, and i read every where "UC" what does it means?

This is actually my favorite gundam series
Thunderbolt is one of the strongest gundam side stories up there with war in the pocket for me
I don't think I've ever watched a single gundam show, but I'll be willing to give these two a watch because of the recommendation

The manga is just as good if not better. It includes things the movies didn't touch on with certain characters, especially Io.
I dug the manga's art quite a bit and generally I'm not that interested in art from manga more often than not.

I highly recommend the origin it’s a recent prequel to the original series and it has some of the best plot gundam has to offer
I always wanted to watch Gundam but I just don’t know where/which one to start with...... btw great review going to check December sky.
This is an excellent place to start I found! Iron Blooded Orphans is another easy watch with a great cast of characters.
I was never huge into mech series but if you are recommending it then I gotta check it out! Pretty cool you got those review copies, I bet some V.I.P. treatment was fun! You deserved it since your reviews are always solid.
Darryl Lorenz... One of the greatest pilots in gundam

Same here.
An absolute masterpiece. Hopefully the author recovers.
13:45 Forgot about Fate/zero! XD anime Gundam Unicorn and Gundam Narrative movie have seme visuals style.
If its anything like iron blooded orphans it will
Be goated for sure
That was horrible what are you saying
Iron Blooded Orphans completely shit the bed with season 2. That shit was utter ass.
Saw this when it came out and quickly became my favourite
You have to watch the Gundam 08th team original Gundam Gundam double o and Gundam seed and I forgot his name but it's after the one year war
Some of the underwater scenes reminded me of the scenes where The pilot's caught in the earth's atmosphere with underpowered m.s. is just hopeless and they just burn up on entry

And the OSTs were also good.

Seed Destiny is probably considered to be the second worst story in Gundam, right behind Victory.
Thank you
Best dub out there.
If you like this series. you will also like Gundam the Origin.
Where i can read english ver. of the manga? I wanna know what happens after Bandit Flower ends
I think there’s a digital version on Viz, but I’m not sure about physical stuff
Where can I find them ?
You need to review Gundam Unicorn.
I was rooting for flemings side in December sky
Fantastic review. One of the best Gundam anime to this day.
Can i watch the movies and the series for free anywhere????
mecha mania youtube channel. December sky and bandit flower is complete there.
Still looking?
Bianca ❤
What comes out after bandit flower I feel that ending was a complete drop off 😤lol I need to know what happens next🤓
the manga, wasn't enough material to make more anime so they had to wait
