nice to meet you I am Japanese. I felt the same way when I saw this promotional video for the first time. The lyrics are based on the novel ``The Temptation of Thanatos''. I read this novel and was able to understand it more deeply. In my personal opinion, many Japanese people often feel sad even when the tempo is a dance beat. I think the reasons for this are: 1) the delicate and wavering melody, 2) the way the singer's vowels waver and stretch, and 3) the space between the words. Sorry if the English translation is wrong.
