    New Pro Tip:
    Chapstick > Battery

    Nice use of the battery as a pusher. I used a ram rod for mine, not something that everyone has access to.
    Remember when sewing the net onto the strap to sew tight around the strap as well as through. This will create a friction join as well as a mechanical join. Should last much longer that way.

    Hi! That's a really nice and thorough video! Always interesting to see how different version of building chains look around the world!
    Quick question:
    What are the rules for hardness/softness of the chainball on America? I was wondering because we're moving away from using the more heavy volleyball-style balls you used in the video, because they were deemed "to much of a risk for serious head injuries".
    Cheers from Germany! 🍻

      Thank you for commenting!
      I do not want to give a super definitive answer here, as the most current rulebook I could find does not mention the hardness of the ball.
      The hardness was a personal concern when making my chains as well, ( I have a 9 year old that REALLY loves to play with chain!) with that said, I used water volleyballs, which have a softer outside and are mostly air.
      The ball I linked in my description actually has a cloth outer layer, but I found them to be much less available in my current area.
      Cheers from Oklahoma!

      @@croyor Thanks for the quick response!
      Sounds like the same ones that have been used for some time over here, but have been decided against for some time. Most people think that, since the balls can't be fully compressed the risk of injury is to high 🤔
      But it seems they work just fine for you guys 😊

    Could you use a soft tetherball for Jugger?

    That strap and the knots looks really hard, is it safe to use?

    • @croyor
      @croyor  2 года назад +1

      The strap is incredibly soft!
      The filling is nerf rival rounds, which are little bits of very squishy foam.
      The only part that is "hard" by any definition is the point that has sewn the net to the body.
      And we have the 2in/5cm section of the noodle to pad that! Very safe chain for sure :)
      Hope this helps!

      @@croyor i wrote strap but meant the net around the ball, sorry, but the net is soft then?
      The knots on the net looks like they stick out so they can be a focus point for the impact and when the impact is focused over a smaller surface it hurts more.
      Awsome video, hope to see more.

      Ah! The netting!
      Yes! the basketball netting is really soft as well, when you see how they are knotted, they really aren't knotted at all.
      If you slow down the portion where I am cleaning the net. Basketball nets just kind of unthread as one big string.
      This means that all the "knots" are loosely threaded together!
      Thank you for the praise, it means a lot!

      I forgot to mention - No reports of pain when using these! Our team has had them in use for a while now!

    so basically i could use a soccer ball and one of those nets for the ball on a rope and that would work?

    • @croyor
      @croyor  2 года назад

      Soccer balls are quite hard and I wouldn't say are safe to use.

      But that's the basics! The first 1m needs to be padded.
      Using the tube webbing for the light weight and ability to pad the inside of the tube!
