I am his father, I'm on disability (what we call ACC here in NZ) after breaking my back in motorcycle accident & don't have a lot of money at all. We freaked out when he was selected as we had no idea how he was going to get there let alone live for a year as we had just sacrificed a lot to get him to the worlds in April where Team NZ won gold at ICU. We literally did not have one cent at the time! We had a massive fundraising drive over 3-4 weeks which I started & were lucky enough have some amazing people from around the world, the cheer community here in NZ & Australia & family/friends help out with donations, sold donated autographed bows etc. We raised enough to get his visa, get him on a plane & pay for his insurance....that is it. He literally left NZ with 200 dollars in his wallet & now has nothing in his pocket in the way of cash (and can't work due to visa restrictions). We are struggling to keep him there. I am down to eating one meal a day & selling everything of value I own to support my son including selling my cheap car I own. When an opportunity like this comes around you cannot say no or I can't....you find a way to make it happen no matter what it takes. Failure was not an option! If you say 'no' or 'I can't' you will never make smoed. Attitude is everything! Please don't decide you know all about everyone & their background unless you actually do :)
That's amazing that everyone came together like that! And it's great that yall are such a supportive family. My dad is the same way, he would skip meals and do everything he could to make sure we had every opportunity in the world. I didn't appreciate it enough as a teenager. I hope Dylan knows how lucky he is!

Gabi said she isn't impressed by accents but was like freaking out about Xavier last season and said that she loves accents. Maybe I missed an episode or maybe she just doesn't like Dylan
i feel bad for his gf that she had to watch this. must have been hard missing your bf and having to hear that almost all the girls think hes cute. the girls that will be with him all the time in the upcoming months. it would bug me but hopefully it didnt get to her

I just wanna say I love how this show isn't like other reality type shows and exploit the kids personal life and stage drama or harp on the bad things that may come up.
