Ok regarding Justin, they obviously wanted him to be the main villain in action but then completely 180’d with Courtney, Justin was almost my perfect character he would been better if he was just self centered but also had fun with the rest of the cast as you could obviously see when he defended people like Owen and DJ in Action, also his other biggest strength was he was really funny with his model stuff
Woah thanks for the creator like, means a lot, I love talking about total drama and it’s some times hard to find people who aren’t as into to it as you some times especially in 2021
@@brauliogodoygonzalez4140 exactly the fact they made Alejandro weak, heather dumb, Scott a laughing stock and I wouldn’t consider jo or lightening as villains they do mockery and Duncan isn’t really a villain but they made him try too hard to prove that he’s a bad boy
You’re twisting everything up. The other villains aren’t ACTUALLY weaker or dumber. It’s just that Mal’s in a league of his own. He gives off the vibe that he ascended from the pits of Tartarus itself.
Sorry if I get this wrong or interpret it incorrectly- I feel like it was overlooked that in the boxing challenge, when Alejandro beat up Jose for insulting Heather, Mal was surprised by Alejandro's strength, yet in later episodes, Mal acted like that hadn't happened.
Fun Fact: Jacques and Josee are the ice dancers mentioned in episode 1 that Chris skated against. Jacques dropped Josee on her head while they were competing.
@madjid E Episode 1 of Island. It was either Geoff or Trent who commented about Chris hosting an ice skating competition and Beth brings up a duo that lost because the male dancer dropped his partner on her head.
@madjid E actually thats kind of true. Total Drama Island was made for to mock really bad Reality Shows. If Total Drama Island never became popular, I think they would have been made: Total Drama Presents : The Ridonculous Race
I like Heather the best out of the villains tbh. While most of the others like Alejandro hid their intentions, she was upfront with it. She dangled the fact that she was bad over everyone's heads with her manipulation and there was NOTHING they could do about it. As the show went on, the villains became more extra and less believable. They did Scarlett dirty though by taking her out as soon as her development started.
I didn't like her strategy at the final 3. She acts like a bitch all season and then at the end sucks up to everyone? They always implied the jury would vote on the winner so why would Heather step on everyone's toes and think she could win?
I preferred Alejandro, his strategy and actions made more sense Like Heather kissed Trent in a luck based challenge, why?? She could've atleast acknowledged that her key must've been the winning one seeing as it was the only one purposely guarded, but no She just assumed she would win so she could freely kiss Trent or that people would ignore it Either way that was a stupid and risky move Peak Alejandro would never do that
Facts: The best antagonists are always from the best total drama seasons while the worst antagonists are always from the worst season to end up the topic.
Alejandro was my favourite. Usually when a new villain is presented as "like the old one, but better" it tends to suck, because more often then not they give him most character traits of the old antagonist but make him stronger/more dangerous, also making the old villain feel like a joke compared to him. And with him being called the "new Heather" it shouldn't work in his favour as a character. But the only thing he borrows from Heather in reality is the manipulation of other characters, which is to be expected from a villain in a competition like this. Not only is he a completely different, succesful character, but it doesn't make Heather a lesser version of him, in fact he only makes her a better character in World Tour since you start rooting for her despite her previous actions
I think that the creators should make different kind of antagonist with different tactics to win. If they make all the antagonist with the same traits and tactics it would feel repetitive and would feel forced.
He would'e been better if he had more resistance against him, at least Heather was more upfront and honest about it and somehow managed to make it far.
@@inversion9651 Yeah, Alejandro as a villain suffers because everyone else has to be made dumber in order for his tactics to work. He may be more social than Heather, but c’mon, EVERYONE had seen those moves before.
@@RaphaelBas1995 I'm glad you recgonized how dumb the other characters were. He was nore social and outgoing, but people saw his moves and everytime he was with someone, they would get eliminated. People should've noticed that.
I don't know who to decide as a favorite villain. But I like Alejandro and Heather together as villains because Heather, she would manipulate anyone into getting her what she wants. And Alejandro, he got almost everyone eliminated in WT and somewhat All Stars. Scarlett as a villain is absolute cliché
Update! -Added Mal -Re-Added bitch courtney -Nerfed Jo -Nerfed Alejandro -Nerfed Heather -Made Scott comedic relief -Made Sierra worse -Made Gwen more whiny -Made Owen not exist
To be fair, Owen did come back as the producer’s mole in action. He tried to be villain but was really bad at it. Can’t believe he didn’t get any mention
Owen being a mole was honestly stupid and it wasn't executed well, it added nothing to the series other then Owen telling both teams about 1 weakness (well not weakness more of a warnings but you get what I mean) in that mech battle challenge
I don't care what anyone says, the Ice Dancers are probably the most enjoyable antagonists. They're straight up malicious and HILARIOUS! Their hyperfixation on being first, a reward that doesn't even really matter! It makes their motivation more unique and Josee's backstory gives her more depth than Alejandro or Heather imo.
Unpopular opinion, Justin is my favorite villain in the series. He's not taken as seriously and it was a breath of fresh air from some of the more serious antagonists like Heather and Alejandro. Plus, I think I have a thing for dumb but sometimes competent villains in general. He had a lot of potential IMO.
Yea like the only problem with people like Alejandro heather Jacque Josee and Scott is that they were known as the villain early on but Justin wasn’t known as a villain
Al is hands down my favourite antagonist in the Total Drama franchise, the fact that he made everyone want to route for Heather shows how well he did at manipulating everyone.
And the best part was it wasnt just the irl fans of the show rooting for Heather. Once Cody was eliminated she was basically the only one standing in Alejandro's way, and it comes to a head when Cody or Harold, I forget who, straight up says *Heather is the hero.*
I honestly think the ice dancers may be my favorite. They were obviously over dramatized for laughs, but other than that they sort of feel like real people, just extremely competitive. Josee especially with her fear of tight spaces really endeared me to her since it showed neither she nor Jacques were infallible or completely evil all the time.
They also served camp which reminded me of my favorite cartoon villains growing up. Sure they were evil, but also over the top, flamboyant, and passionate. It's never a dull moment when they are on screen, and even their usual gigs like always smiling for the camera became a joke in the later half of the show, so it didn't get dull.
@@pagingdrwhom2300 something I forgot to mention was have Scarlett exacerbate the conflicts between jasmine x Shawn and Dave x sky. Maybe have her convince sky to play dirty instead of jasmine
Funny thing about the Ice Dancers was that they were such strong competitors they didn't need to sabotage, and their sabotages tended to backfire more than the other villains. They had their successes like with the Ice Dancers and indirectly with the Best Friends but more often than like with Heather or Alejandro their plans tended to result in one of them, normally Jacques, getting injured in some way. Great characters and two of my favorite villains but I find it funny that despite their strengths they got injured more often than most of the villains did in their season.
A small defense of scarlet if you watch her audition tape you can see knifes in a globe and as the show goes on she definitely does more stuff that is subtly mean it's really good. I think had they kept her evil actions small scale she would have been really enjoyable for a lot of people.
I think a big reason why heather was such a good villain in season 1 is because it was season 1. We had no idea how Total Drama was structured, so we just kept seeing her win not knowing if the writers actually intended on letting her win. We were watching her completely blind which is not something we can say about the other villains
and i agree with the Courtney's arguments, she had her moments with Action with her villain role but with personality, her character become confusing. Which her character in Island showcased the development towards a uptight prep teenager who had antagonist moments to have a moment to enjoy herself and have fun.
Out of all the villains in the series, my favorite is a tie between Scott and Alejandro. Alejandro because he was, in my opinion, the strongest villain in the entire franchise, being able to do what Justin couldn't and actually keep everyone attracted to him until they got voted out, even the guys, and he was even able to get rid of the people who knew about his true intentions. I also like Scott because he was really funny during all stars at certain times and in revenge of the island. Plus his plan at the beginning of revenge was really creative and well thought out to me. They're both really good characters and I hope that if they bring back past contestants for the new seasons (which most likely won't be the case, sadly) they bring back these two
I think Mal as a villain was an interesting concept but it was poorly executed. If they showed more of his smartness and how he fooled everyone it would have been better. I think if they maybe either had it not be revealed that he was Mal for a while might have been better or if he manipulated Duncan insight not telling his secret. They should have shown more of his brains instead of his brawn’s
11:58 *actually,* he was responsible in a way for Anne Maria's elimination in season 4 and Cameron's elimination in season 5. That has to count for something!
Justin should get more credit. He was the reason Trent, Gwen, Izzy (2nd time) and to an extent Leshawna (due to suggesting a guys alliance with Duncan and Harold) were eliminated in Action.
Imo Justin was a test run for Alejandro and i feel like they could’ve done a lot more with him maybe if they gave him more than one line in island that would’ve helped his character and throughout action he gets less self centered and less egotistical and focused on his looks focusing more on strategy and wining wether or not he becomes more of a villain is left up to you personally him falling into a category of good and bad is what i would’ve wanted like he’d help you but he’d also manipulate you if it meant he would win Also that switch to falling for courtney was out of left field imo
The most interesting thing that you can love about certain total drama antagonists it is always their familly backstories that makes them more layered/fleshed out human beings, espcially to the likes of Heather Alejandro Josee Scott Scarlett and even Courtney to some extent.
After rewatching Mal in All Stars, I liked him a bit more. I like the idea of an insidious character who waits patiently before revealing himself. think the main problem for me is that he is just in the wrong series. He is in a reality TV show where you learn to love the characters for who they are and it just doesn't make sense how there is this absolutely evil villain. It is too text book and I completely agree about how they had to nerf villains like Alejandro to make him work Also, I think I preferred Heather and Courtney when they weren't antagonists, but they were still fun to watch as antagonists
Great video as always. When I first watched the series all those years ago I wasn’t a huge fan of Justin but he’s actually kind of hilarious upon further rewatches
okay, so sugar actually did do a LOT! she won several immunities, got out ella, scarlett and jasmine. she manipulated skye and dave so they’d not make an alliance. she kinda had an alliance with leonard and betrayed several people like skye in the f4 and formed an alliance during then.
Scarlett is an interesting one where I feel like the characterization was subtle and fun leading up to the point of her reversal. I actually enjoyed how they handled her overall but do agree with wishing she had some sort of motive behind her cruelty. Might also have been interesting to have her around for an additional episode before she gets booted without having her overstay her welcome while also providing more context.
It's very clear that that the later seasons suffered from how short they were. Characters like Sugar, Scarlet, Jo and Mal needed more time for us to get to know them and understand more about them like villains from full seasons
I felt like Justin/Dustin was like a prototype Alejandro with his manipulation tatics taking advantage his appearance and charm, that and the two sharing a similar physical build and tan
Honorable mention is Duncan. Season 1: man was a badass guy, juvenile criminal etc Season 2: he has badass moments here and there (surfer challenge when he dodged the seagulls and punched one of them to win the challenge) and he was the biggest bully ever and his victim was Harold. Season 3: was hinting too a downfall but he has y moments when he threw a coyote at Cody
My Ranking of Every Total Drama "Villain" (Spoilers) 31. Mal 30. Dave 29. Scarlett 28. Amy 27. Taylor 26. Sugar 25. Ripper 24. Stephanie 23. Blaineley 22. Topher 21. Max 20. Anne Maria 19. Eva 18. Chris McLean
I feel as though Mal and Scarlett could've worked, if they were done properly. Like if they maybe had led up to Mal's reveal. Mike would eventually start to see that Mal is back but would be scared to tell everyone, but Duncan would find out and either Mike tells him to keep it secret or Mal threatens him. I feel the problem is mainly that Mal is too overpowered when they should've kept a little more realistic.(which the main problem with how they wrote later Villians) With Scarlett, it was foreshadowed very subtlety that she did have a dark side. I feel like she could've been great if they written her better. Maybe got more on her backstory, though we don't get much of that in this show.
8:57 She was responsable for the break up relantioship between Dave & Sky during Episode 7 and 9 and not to mention her method of trapping Jasmine into a tree which causes the latter's elimination as well as turning off against Sky in episode 11 by betraying her short lived alliance. Not to mention she is also very competitive agressive tough hardcore musclewoman player as she is a challenge beast for her team who wone many challenges & being immune for 10 episodes as she wasnt in a risk of being a threat until the merge.
personal ranking of every TD villain (minor ones included): *12. Justin* - did almost nothing besides the Gwen alliance which was terribly written, Alejandro executed his concept better in every possible way. *11. Mal* - so much potential wasted, he had an insane plot armor and they had to turn every character dumber to make his strategies work. *10. Lightning* - only became a villain to push the "brain beats brawn" moral despite barely interacting with Cameron at all before episode 12. *9. Sugar:* - eh, she successfully eliminated and manipulated people, but other antagonists did it better. *8. Courtney* - she felt like an actual villain unlike Justin, however she DID cheat her way back, which makes her a bad player with an advantage over everyone else rather than a smart antagonist. *7. Blainley* - mixed feelings, she was a good villain for the Geoff and Bridgette storyline, but her role in the actual game wasn't anything other characters didn't already do. *6. Scarlett* - this is where the list gets better, she was basically Mal without plot armor and the idea of gradually showing her evil nature instead of clearly showing the viewer she was evil from the start works better. *5. Scott* - his strategy was so dumb, it the others figured out what he did he would've been gone immediately. But his plans surprisingly worked for the most part because he's naturally mischievous and hateful like a villain should be. *4. Ice dancers* - they manipulated everyone and were extremely hard to defeat due to their physical and intellectual skills. if they eliminated more teams they would rank higher. *3. Amy* - the best side villain, the show did a great job at portraying her as an hateful, bad sister. the was she gets eliminated was smart and her stereotype is fully executed to the point she swims her way back on Pahkitew just to get her revenge on Samey. *2. Heather* - established herself ad the strongest player and naturally took control over her team and the whole game, her strategy worked despite not needing to hide it, she eliminated lots of people too and her defeated was satisfying. not putting her #1 because she had some plot armor. *1. Alejandro* - i like Heather's character more, but I think Alejandro was slightly better as a villain, unlike Heather he actually had to work undercover, but he eliminated 90% of the cast and he successfully manipulated everyone except Heather at the end.
8:22 Literally me when Izuru Kamukura backhand slaps Mukuro Ikusaba (Who literally can dodge a fucking bullet and has professional military experience) and she goes flying into a wall What the hell? He is also built like a green bean.
Al is the Best Heather was so good at planning and calculating I'm pretty on the fence about mal because he was cheesy but the guy's evil acts did work to weaken other contestants
Heather was the best og Villain love or hate her, she has great strategies to get her way. Either her plan backfiring or it goes as plan she was a well written villain in the first 3 seasons, until her cameo in RoTI and participant role in AS she SOMEHOW lost her strategic trait.
controversial, but I love, love, LOVE jacques and josee. best team from ridonkulous race and probably one of my favorites through the entirety of the series.
I agree, especially since before TDAS, Alejandro had been in only one season. At least Heather had Island, Action, and WT before All-Stars. We basically saw all Heather could do and how her character could change- including her little redemption arc/anti-hero role in season 3- but Alejandro didn't get that chance. The writers could have done so much more with his character that season to make up for it, especially since he was a WT finalist his first time competing. He had a strong game and strategy
Nooo, the character of Scarlett was intended to reflect a person on TV show who act nice, but actually is evil. If Scarlett would became evil because of Max, then her character's goal wouldn't be how it meant to be
With Mal what they should have made him a decent manipulator who can win out by using Mike's likability to play the hero's while the villain thought amongst themselves. Have Dunkin be suspicious of Mike from the beginning maybe ask if they met before. Make the hero's win a lot at the start but after the team switch make Dunkin's suspicion get a mega boost maybe have him team up with Sierra (with no codycam shtick just have her know Mike and Dunkin we're in juvee at the same time she's a stalker she should know that.) and Cameron who would have noticed Mike's slight changes and has grown suspicious splitting Zoey down the middle have her want to trust cam but have her not trust Dunkin and kinda be in denial. Then with the hero's divided have Alejandro and Heather team up to unite the villains to turn things around. For motivation I kinda like the idea that Mal wants the mil for bale money and bribery money so he can just commit as much crime as he wants.
Lots of either doesn't know or were too lazy to know what Dissociative Identity Disorder is wouldn't know why MAL is stronger or smarter than most characters and why it makes sense. The reason is because there is actual evidence that individuals with multiple personalities can change their body chemistry. This is based on recent studies in the last 20 years that indicate individuals diagnosed with DID have shown physiologic differences between their ‘alters’ (personalities), including dominant handedness, response to the same medication, and allergic sensitivities. Further, alters have demonstrably shown differences in visual parameters, including corneal curvature and pupil size for example. Mal is smarter and faster than the others, just like how Mike's other personalities excel in certain areas than others because of his DID.
Gonna say it, I don't like Heather in Island. I think she's a bad antagonist. She acts so blatantly mean and yet nobody votes her out for completely arbitrary reasons most times she's UFE (especially Cody's elimination). Her getting to Final 3 feels more like fluke than anything. She was good in the next 2 seasons though.
I think people severely under rate Mal. The man was running Juvie you have to be both strong and smart to do that. I honestly don’t think they nerf characters in allstars Mal just out played alot people. Alejandro wanted revenge from last season against it wasn’t that she nerfed he just got her back the only dumb part about her elimination is why did she think Chris had the invincibility statue 😂. Alejandro getting eliminated was due to people already not trusting him from last season not to mention the way he eliminated heather so all Mal had to was win a challenge and he was voted off. As for everyone else no one paid attention to Mike competition wise they literally treated him as a non factor with both Courtney and Gwen laughing at Duncan for suggesting Mike was a threat and Courtney list saying she can get rid of Mike anytime she wants. Zoey is gullible and values friends as seen in TDRI and wants people to like her. Cameron not noticing is weird mosh but it can slide with him being on different teams, and worrying about Sierra for part of the show. While yes he does things for the sake of evil he doesn’t just go around stupid things like when he broke peoples things those were things that were mentally keeping them focus or would ruin challenges for others. Also I don’t think u need a reason for being evil true villains don’t need a reason to be bad they just do because they want to.
They threw in "he was running juvie" as a way to say "ooo watch out for Mal he went to jail, fear him" When in reality he's too scrawny and corny looking to even be considered intimidating, let alone threatening
My top 15 villains (no RR or Reboot) 15. Sugar 14. Justin 13. Lightning 12. Blainely 11. Dave 10. Amy 9. Topher (yes, Topher) 8. Courtney 7. Max 6. Jo 5. Scarlett 4. Alejandro 3/2. Scott/Heather 1. Mal (underrated king)
Idea:what if Alejandro was on team victory? Because in the first part of the first episode he lets the girls go in front of him with fill out team victory
My theory on Scott's change is that the writers realized his fate was too mean, even for total drama. He gets mauled by Fang so bad that he is put in a trauma chair, and not even like a funny cartoon version of it, no, he can't even move. Not to mention that while Scott was a dick to Mike, Mike was mostly a dick first like pushing the dude who is terrified of Fang for a reason into the ocean. And unlike the previous villains, who come from money, Scott is clearly from a broken home but still speaks very fondly of his family, I mean the man's audition tape was in a busted trailer.
Scott’s my fav character I loved his scheming in ROTI and him being dumb in AS isn’t actually that bad. He always was a punching bag but others took the fall usually and now that they are gone it’s all up to him getting hurt. And him being dumb now could be chalked up to the trauma caused by fang. He’s my favorite character by so much and I actually love both of his different appearances Also Scott has a great character design model and concept
Top 5 best villains of TD: 1. Heather - She a solid villain in Island, a decent character in Action and World Tour, but in All Stars, not much, at least she and Alejandro are together at the end of All Stars. 2. Chris - He's insane overall. 3. Alejandro - He's always into strategy and meanfulness in World Tour. 4. Courtney - In Action, she's another villain other than Justin, but whatevs. 5. Scott - He's a sabotager in ROTI. In All Stars, he's decent.
Heather: Amazing starter villain. Good insight for what’s to come. Justin: More of a bumbling oaf than anything, even in his black eye phase. I don’t really count him. Courtney: Got away with more than she should’ve. Okay plot lines. Owen: Nice struggle. Cool motivation. Harold: This case is a bit weird because he’s got a lot of hero moments. However, sabotaging Zeke with bad advice in “Walk Like an Egyptian” puts him here in my book. Feral Zeke: My favorite character. Really more of an Anti-Villain. Alejandro: Neat way to up the ante in World Tour. Had the neat “fake broken legs” gimmick and an interesting reveal in All-Stars. Jo: Decent, but didn’t do much. Scott: He did okay. Didn’t like the lower stakes he provided too much. Lightning: Pretty good, provides a decent challenge. Too bad he was basically a filler villain. Mal: EXCELLENT Final Boss material. Manages to out-evil the Greater-Scope, which is impressive. Max: Just a parody. Useful for comic relief I guess. Scarlet and Sugar: They basically carried 5B on their shoulders. Mal’s a tough act to follow so props for trying. Dave: Worst. Heel turn. Ever. Chris: He’s the Greater-Scope Villain, and he does a good job at that. Not much else to say. Axis of Evil: Good mix of motives and personalities. Honestly surprised two of them managed to win.
Total Drama Villains As Wild Animals: Heather: Nile crocodile + black widow Justin: Gray wolf Courtney: Grizzly bear (savage attitude) Alejandro: Lion Scott: Tiger Jo: Golden eagle Mal: Great white shark Sugar: Wolverine Scarlett: Cougar + Jaguar Ice Dancers: King cobra + rock python or anaconda
Ok not to be a smartass I know your channel when you said Mal should not be that strong there is real people who do strength training and muscle training two different things. They are people smaller than him who are stronger than tall people.
And it’s shown in Mike’s audition that he has weights which is obviously for Vito hence explaining why Vito’s so strong which also means Mike is as it’s his body thus Mal would be too whenever he’s in control.
Even so, you gotta admit it just doesn't fit his look 😭 how an I supposed to take him seriously when the intended vibe clashes with the image, it's hilarious
I'm including Heather, Eva, Justin, Courtney, Alejandro, Blainely, Scott, Jo, Mal, Sugar, Scarlett, and the ice dancers 12. *MAL-* Good lord I hate MAL, as a character and a villain. First of all, he was portrayed as TD's most dangerous threat , the smartest, strongest and most devious player- but then he had no strategy. He tried to manipulate Cameron into trusting only him while simultaneously trying to get him voted off? All he did was break stuff and say he's evil. His downfall was garbage- other antagonists would be taken down by a technicality, the same con they pulled on everyone else or an overestimation of their ability, but not MAL. No. He was eliminated BY A BUTTON. oh yeah and he was SUPER obvious yet only a few people realised he was him. Overall I give him half a season put of eight 11. *EVA-* She was surprisingly the secondary antagonist of Total Drama. I liked her entry back into the game, really showing off just how scary she was. It's just a shame she dipped immediately and never competed again. 10. *SCOTT-* This is probably my most controversial placement but man he is the weakest proper main antagonist. His strategy was dumb- as was his end goal of 'picking off the maggots' even though his team was basically non-existent with his game throwing. Him hearing Dawn know what he's up to was just too convenient and forced. He didn't try to get Lightnimg out or really use him as an ally. He made it to the final four despite everyone hating him. And, like MAL, he was way too obvious. His halfed-assed yays when his team won should've been a dead giveaway- and his dropping of the Brick thief story was somehow never brought up. And his downfall was the worst Total Drama could give. Overall I give him 1 bad downfall out of 10 9. *SCARLETT-* I hated how she was evil all along- it would've been infinitely better if Max drove her to insanity. I hate how she was the smartest character on the show and still fell for the Chris Robot trick. Overall I wish she had just stayed her smart but quiet self, even if threatening to blow up the island if she didn't get the $1 million was pretty badass. 8. *SUGAR-* Oh look, another controversial pick. You're probably wondering why she's above Scott. Well, she wins about because unlike Scott who was portrayed like a scheming mastermind, Sugar is dumb. Stupid. Half a brain cell. When Scott does something stupid like, I Don't know, purposely make his team lose we are supposed to take it seriously. When Sugar does something stupid, like try to eliminate the one person left who doesn't hate her, we are meant to say "that was dumb". OK but let's look at Sugars accomplishments- She got Ella eliminated, She got Jasmine(probably the best player there) eliminated, she won challenges, she nearly got Sky eliminated, She got Sky in an alliance, and she drove a wedge between Dave and Sky to keep them apart. But she's still a bad character (worse than Scott) who had an underwhelming downfall. 7. *JUSTIN-* Yeah he didn't do much- except get Gwen and Trent eliminated, manipulated Lindsay and Beth for a while and betrayed Harold. He was a weak antagonist, but again, he's meant to be dumb so his dumb things are in character 6. *BLAINELY-* I loved how malicious she was in the aftermath, and her coming on the show was a big suprise- I liked how she got Owen eliminated, it's just a shame she only lasted 2 episodes- to be expected from someone who's used to the pleasures of hosting. 5. *COURTNEY-* OK sure, she was annoying sometimes but it was cool seeing her win everytime. She did feel like Heather without the charm sometimes, but getting rid of Owen and Justin was a good move. 4. *JO-* Think of Eva but more upgraded. Jo not only had the strength, but the wits too. She was a secondary antagonist who really should've been the main one. She tried to play a heck of a lot of people, and even got Anne Maria to do stuff. She's up her because of the sheer potential, and how good she was- just a shame she never achieved greatness 3. *HEATHER-* Another controversial choice but I feel like she's only people's favourites because she was the first. However, she made a whole host of blunders including: making herself obvious from day 1, alienating people for little to no reason, and her biggest failure- kissing Trent, an act that would've had her eliminated if she didn't have so much plot armour. Her alliances with Lindsay, Beth and to an extent Duncan and Izzy were cool though. She was definitely a strong start 2. *ICE DANCERS-* I loved them, they were amazing. But. They didn't really do much for the first few episodes except get really competitive. However, as time went on they got more and more malicious. One thing that worked in their favour was the seasons structure- so unlike others (Scott and Heather) it felt believable that they'd make the final three despite everyone hating them. They were also super funny and I appreciate how they weren't carbon copies of each other. 1. *ALEJANDRO-* What can I say? He was amazing. By New York City he had already got 2 people eliminated, had almost everyone kissing his feet, and had made Sierra useless to Heather, all while only Heather knew something was up. I will say him keeping all the strong girls to the end wasn't too smart, and his downfall was so nearly perfect until the lava happened. I still love him, and noone would come close to him again until the ridonculous race.
Mal didn't just break stuff and say he's evil. He straight up tried to kill gwen. Left Cameron for dead and brought alehandro to his knees and had him at his mercy. Mal was honestly in my opinion one of the best villains but was cursed with a bad season to be the main antagonist
@@iamloaf2433 but what will killing them even do, mal is so cartoony even for total drama standards. his motives make no sense. he tried to kill his own teammate hows that going to help him. mal as a villain is just evil for the sake of it and awful. he makes all star way worse than it already is
I wish they would’ve used Justin more in Action. They could’ve toned down Courtney and up Justin a bit so both of them could become “antagonists” of the season and clash near the end of season with maybe the same Fairy Tale challenge but oh well.

Sorry if I get this wrong or interpret it incorrectly-
I feel like it was overlooked that in the boxing challenge, when Alejandro beat up Jose for insulting Heather, Mal was surprised by Alejandro's strength, yet in later episodes, Mal acted like that hadn't happened.
Fun Fact: Jacques and Josee are the ice dancers mentioned in episode 1 that Chris skated against. Jacques dropped Josee on her head while they were competing.
Oh, good. I'm not the only one who noticed
@madjid E Episode 1 of Island.
I thought I already made this same comment?
But that gave her massive plot armor. Which she did have. Alejandro had it a bit but not nearly as much
Let's all be honest, Island Heather was the best villian, Action's "villians" didn't do anything too bad, World Tour had Alejandro...
I preferred Alejandro, his strategy and actions made more sense
Like Heather kissed Trent in a luck based challenge, why?? She could've atleast acknowledged that her key must've been the winning one seeing as it was the only one purposely guarded, but no
She just assumed she would win so she could freely kiss Trent or that people would ignore it
Either way that was a stupid and risky move
Peak Alejandro would never do that
Facts: The best antagonists are always from the best total drama seasons while the worst antagonists are always from the worst season to end up the topic.
If they make all the antagonist with the same traits and tactics it would feel repetitive and would feel forced.
never forget "Alejandro is like Heather but with social skills". Also i love that this brought Heather to be an anti hero

To be fair, Owen did come back as the producer’s mole in action. He tried to be villain but was really bad at it. Can’t believe he didn’t get any mention
Owen being a mole was honestly stupid and it wasn't executed well, it added nothing to the series other then Owen telling both teams about 1 weakness (well not weakness more of a warnings but you get what I mean) in that mech battle challenge
because he never had any antagonist motives doing so, he neither did enjoyed that much at the end.
Owen is too precious to be the villain 🥺💓
Owen's not really 'Evil' per say, he's just gullible.
I 100% agree. He was hilarious.
"The cards he have played."
Alejandro isnt happy bc you called him Al 😂😂😂
@@nobgs4505 It was cody
I honestly think the ice dancers may be my favorite. They were obviously over dramatized for laughs, but other than that they sort of feel like real people, just extremely competitive. Josee especially with her fear of tight spaces really endeared me to her since it showed neither she nor Jacques were infallible or completely evil all the time.
Between Josee and heather, it’s tough for me to decide which villain is the best.
And them making it to the final 3 despite being despised by every other team felt believable bc of RR'S Structure
Yessss the ice dancers are amazing!
Regarding Scarlett I like your idea about her being pushed to evil by max. She would probably be one of my favorites if that happened
Honestly, that would have made her “I am not your sidekick” line 1000000x better

man, when you bring out Alejandro's and Josee's backstories on their reasonings to win the millions, you can't help but be more interested in them.
Fun fact: Sugar's voice actress, Rochelle Wilson, voiced Courtney for the first 2 episodes of Island
They sound nothing alike.

I think a big reason why heather was such a good villain in season 1 is because it was season 1. We were watching her completely blind which is not something we can say about the other villains

They're both really good characters and I hope that if they bring back past contestants for the new seasons (which most likely won't be the case, sadly) they bring back these two
I kinda want a twist villan in the next season But not like scarlett Like somebody like heather but a twist

*brawn
Brawn*
@@superguy9834 Thank you I’ll edit that
11:58 *actually,* he was responsible in a way for Anne Maria's elimination in season 4 and Cameron's elimination in season 5. That has to count for something!
Great points on Courtney. Keep up the great work.
Justin should get more credit. He was the reason Trent, Gwen, Izzy (2nd time) and to an extent Leshawna (due to suggesting a guys alliance with Duncan and Harold) were eliminated in Action.
Imo Justin was a test run for Alejandro and i feel like they could’ve done a lot more with him maybe if they gave him more than one line in island that would’ve helped his character and throughout action he gets less self centered and less egotistical and focused on his looks focusing more on strategy and wining wether or not he becomes more of a villain is left up to you personally him falling into a category of good and bad is what i would’ve wanted like he’d help you but he’d also manipulate you if it meant he would win
Also that switch to falling for courtney was out of left field imo
The most interesting thing that you can love about certain total drama antagonists it is always their familly backstories that makes them more layered/fleshed out human beings, espcially to the likes of Heather Alejandro Josee Scott Scarlett and even Courtney to some extent.
After rewatching Mal in All Stars, I liked him a bit more. I like the idea of an insidious character who waits patiently before revealing himself. think the main problem for me is that he is just in the wrong series. He is in a reality TV show where you learn to love the characters for who they are and it just doesn't make sense how there is this absolutely evil villain. It is too text book and I completely agree about how they had to nerf villains like Alejandro to make him work
Also, I think I preferred Heather and Courtney when they weren't antagonists, but they were still fun to watch as antagonists
I rlly don’t like how he was treated in episode 10.
Yeah with Scarlett I can imagine her just getting so fed up with Max, and also having to deal with Chris' shenanigans that she goes over the edge.
Kind of hard to NOT to be fed up with Max. He's a little kid who wants to be evil, but isn't very good at it!
Maybe Max should have call him self by an villainous tile of Doctor?
I always wanted to see Justin and Alejandro in the same season to see what they would think of each other
I felt like Justin/Dustin was like a prototype Alejandro with his manipulation tatics taking advantage his appearance and charm, that and the two sharing a similar physical build and tan
Honorable mention is Duncan.
Season 1: man was a badass guy, juvenile criminal etc
Season 2: he has badass moments here and there (surfer challenge when he dodged the seagulls and punched one of them to win the challenge) and he was the biggest bully ever and his victim was Harold.

I feel the problem is mainly that Mal is too overpowered when they should've kept a little more realistic.(which the main problem with how they wrote later Villians)
With Scarlett, it was foreshadowed very subtlety that she did have a dark side. I feel like she could've been great if they written her better. Maybe got more on her backstory, though we don't get much of that in this show.
Everyone’s a villain until Chris McLean walks in

personal ranking of every TD villain (minor ones included):
*1. Alejandro* - i like Heather's character more, but I think Alejandro was slightly better as a villain, unlike Heather he actually had to work undercover, but he eliminated 90% of the cast and he successfully manipulated everyone except Heather at the end.

it sucks how they derailed them in ALL-STARS for a lame villain like Mal!

@@totaldramamulix316 Now I understand more of why she was how she was. I didn’t really get that concept in the execution of her character

Jacques and Josee are the best part of their season and you can’t change my mind
Justin is my favorite character but i dont really think he was a good villian. Great comic relief, but too stupid for the antagonistic role.

She was good in the next 2 seasons though.
mal: i'm super strong, super evil, and nobody can stop me
ezekiel:*procceds to knock out and capture him*
I think people severely under rate Mal.

That clip of Justin’s tendons took me out and sent me back ten years

My theory on Scott's change is that the writers realized his fate was too mean, even for total drama. He gets mauled by Fang so bad that he is put in a trauma chair, and not even like a funny cartoon version of it, no, he can't even move. Not to mention that while Scott was a dick to Mike, Mike was mostly a dick first like pushing the dude who is terrified of Fang for a reason into the ocean. And unlike the previous villains, who come from money, Scott is clearly from a broken home but still speaks very fondly of his family, I mean the man's audition tape was in a busted trailer.
I love the villans more then the main characters
Scott’s my fav character I loved his scheming in ROTI and him being dumb in AS isn’t actually that bad. He always was a punching bag but others took the fall usually and now that they are gone it’s all up to him getting hurt. And him being dumb now could be chalked up to the trauma caused by fang. He’s my favorite character by so much and I actually love both of his different appearances
Also Scott has a great character design model and concept
I have this video to thank for my now mentally comparing Alejandro's family to the Weasleys from Harry Potter.

Total Drama Villains As Wild Animals:
Heather: Nile crocodile + black widow
Justin: Gray wolf
Courtney: Grizzly bear (savage attitude)
Alejandro: Lion
Scott: Tiger
Jo: Golden eagle
Mal: Great white shark
Sugar: Wolverine
Scarlett: Cougar + Jaguar
Ice Dancers: King cobra + rock python or anaconda
In my country Al won TD World Tour and I believe it was a more satisfying ending
Alejandro is the most powerful antagonist and Heather to me at least is the most enjoyable antagonist.
Mal I thought was one of the coolest villain concepts. He’s the darkest of Mike’s multiple personalities.
Alejandro: skills of manipulation like Heather and good looks of charming manipulation like Justin, but much better.
A Disney Channel power scaling tier list could be cool.
Thinking about it Lightning was the bizarro DJ.
I'm including Heather, Eva, Justin, Courtney, Alejandro, Blainely, Scott, Jo, Mal, Sugar, Scarlett, and the ice dancers
12. Overall I give him half a season put of eight
Overall I give him 1 bad downfall out of 10
He was a weak antagonist, but again, he's meant to be dumb so his dumb things are in character
She's up her because of the sheer potential, and how good she was- just a shame she never achieved greatness
3. She was definitely a strong start
Ok wow I'm bad at writing my thoughts down
Mal didn't just break stuff and say he's evil. He straight up tried to kill gwen. Left Cameron for dead and brought alehandro to his knees and had him at his mercy. Mal was honestly in my opinion one of the best villains but was cursed with a bad season to be the main antagonist
@@iamloaf2433 and why dis he try to kill those two?
@@Britishdarnlib because he got the chance. Aside from the challenge aspect he got the chance alone with them to kill them.
@@iamloaf2433 but what will killing them even do, mal is so cartoony even for total drama standards. his motives make no sense. he tried to kill his own teammate hows that going to help him. mal as a villain is just evil for the sake of it and awful. he makes all star way worse than it already is
Chris should be the main antagonist in the next season.
I really liked mal's idea he just should have been in a longer season.
I wish they would’ve used Justin more in Action. They could’ve toned down Courtney and up Justin a bit so both of them could become “antagonists” of the season and clash near the end of season with maybe the same Fairy Tale challenge but oh well.
