SATOR can be translated from latin as ploughman, planter or sower. AREPO means plow in the Gallic language, TENET can mean "he holds in his power" or "maintains". OPERA means work or care, ROTAS means wheel, rotation or cycle in latin.
@@Linnie___ True, but this in itself is believed to be a shortened version of the name of an Egyptian god, hidden and coded. If you think about the other words of the Sator square it already references Sowing -Sator to plant or sow. If the gallic word is used we have the translation - Sow, Plow, Sustain, Work, Cycle . Basically the eternal Cycle of growing the food to sustain a community which would have been central to most communities of this era. The Gallic word could have been learned through the tin trade with what we now know as the British isles, an important component of Bronze. This is just genius!! Being actually mezmerized by the part from 11:57, I couldn't help but transcribe it by ear. And it turns out not only the melodies are symmetrical on the time axis (same melody backwards and forwards), but also the three (?) different voices are symmetrical on the pitch axis (same melody pattern on the first and third voice, but mirrored upsidedown, second voice is just a drone - meaning the pitch stays the same.). This is literally a historic masterpiece. I also love how the Germanic and Latin lyrics meet and mirror at the word PAX (peace). To me as someone with Germanic and Romance origin, this is really a whole new level of intergenerational healing (HEILUNG).
Yeah PAX is emphasized with the way it is written but it doesn't exactly mirror, because the first 6 lines are Germanic, 2 lines of Latin then PAX and continues with Latin then the final line is an abbreviation of what is originally Hebrew letters, with the last word I think is Germanic. Still damn cool and I love both the melodies.
I couldn't have explained it the way you did, but I heard it. The structure is phenomenal. It's like plainchant but much, much deeper than that. I could listen to the last minute for hours on end. And I bow to your ability to transcribe by ear.
@@Sonic_sorceress the meaning of the Sator Square was constructed by pagans using the language of Latin. The language was chosen because Latin was like English is in Europe today. You know this song is going to be an absolute trip when it's performed at live shows I can already hear the audience joining in the recitation of the magic square
Today I took a midnight walk to this music, along a nice, varied route that I take nearly every day. The clouds were being blown wildly across the sky, but it was perfectly still on the level I was walking, and so the landscape was glowing from the full moon at irregular intervals. I was just about to head into the forest, when at about the 08:05 mark of this song, both layers of clouds aligned and let the moon shine through, making me stop to look. This persisted for about two minutes before clouds returned, but I was already transfixed and just kept staring. And then at 11:55, the wind that had been whipping those clouds through the sky finally hit the ground, nearly blowing my jacket off my shoulders. For a few minutes, magic was real.
Witnessing the ritual of this song live would count among the highlights of existence. The way it consistently builds before finally releasing is a thing of beauty. August 19th can't come soon enough.

I'm crying as I'm typing this comment... This song was such a marvelous experience. This band is truly phenomenal at capturing raw emotion in their sound, I can't thank them enough for making this masterpiece of a song in many aspects, definitely my favorite song of 2022 and one of the greatest albums of the year ad well.

Profoundly original and deep in a world in great need of mythic, human art and stories. Once again Heilung deliver something true of almost timeless lore, it’s sonic archeology.
This is definitely my favorite song of Heilung. I thought Afhomon and Othan would go on forever but this is magical. I literally made a pencil painting based off the end of the song. Every moment of this song is Heilung identity. A healing for the soul in a metamorphic phase of life, and a troubling one too.

It is odd to say so, but this song makes me cry on many parts and at the same time it causes anxiety at some points. Like being scared of the unknown... it is hard to explain. IMO the children’s chanting is an innocent and symbolic prelude to the mind game of the deep and cosmic significance of the magic square . Heilung have composed an ode to universal symmetry based on musical emotions. This is a powerful achievement.

Same thing happened to me....the first time I heard them it went straight to my soul!!!....a calling?....an awakening?....gives me the sense also, that something huge is going to happen soon!
The Latin at the end certainly surprised me. Love the song and can't wait for the album.
Magic simply courses through my veins when listening to this powerfully beautiful chant...Heilung is love, Heilung is life. Slainte mhath, brothers and sisters!
One of the most powerful music ever written in history ❤️🔥
What with Anoana, Asja and now this .... this utterly magical experience ... to me Drif is already a masterpiece! For the ultimate experience; grab a pair of headphones, sit down, close your eyes and let yourself be completely immersed.
Love the children voices, beautiful that children can be included in this. Not just for big people
Really liked the clever use of Crows cawing too at the beginning like a hi hat.
@@cloudparter I think that the crowing is Kai doing the animal sounds
I loved that too !
Profoundly original and deep in a world in great need of mythic, human art and stories. Once again Heilung deliver something true of almost timeless lore, it’s sonic archeology.
Yes, I wish more ppl would hear them❤
This is definitely my favorite song of Heilung. I thought Afhomon and Othan would go on forever but this is magical. I literally made a pencil painting based off the end of the song. Every moment of this song is Heilung identity. A healing for the soul in a metamorphic phase of life, and a troubling one too.
Would you show me your painting?
@@Ranisvani I'll upload it on a future video as I plan on writing a story and that painting is part of it. It's about the discovery of the Spirit Realm based off findings inspired by the show "Dead Files" and my personal active imagination.
You put into words exactly my thoughts..,This track I can not hear enough
@@Ranisvani when it's finished
you obviously haven't heard the melody on Asja
Total hypnotic brilliance! Absolutely love it!
One of the best songs ever! Eyes-catching backing vocals and as always the beautiful Maria Franz.
that transition at 3:44 is just soo good with headphones on, I don't what it's called but the bass/droning/drum beat just becomes more intense, like it was in the background but it's now more prominent. Ugh I just love this song and how it crescendos into the finale!
Yes! That transition makes me uneasy, gives me goosebumps!
Ok, Heilung is constantly changing. On this album they use normal instruments as in Anoana, and use Latin magical phrases from the Mediterranean World like here in this song. Why not. Nice song, looking forward for the album :)
And they talk about swiming in a sea of LSD and golden shower every hour... minute 12:00 onwards 🤣
@@sebastianmaile5341 wat
@@TheDinofou listen to the song in reverse, Kai's parts
@@CarlErikSimonsen yup did that the day after ^^ it's strangely fitting I have to admit
@@sebastianmaile5341 ...that kinda ruins the song for me, not gonna lie. Glorifying drugs isn't a thing I'd have expected of Heilung, it's beneath them imo
I woke up feeling congested, in a bad mood. As the song went on my congestion went away and my mood was redirected.
Has been up on their channel for 2 days, and I'm obsessed with it. Non stop playing it.The middle part just kills. Absolutely AMAZING! And I love the story of each song... fucking fantastic !
Welcome in the other world
all three released so far have been absolutely haunting

@@JosephStJohn-gm6vf so good, so happy I pulled the trigger to get the wooden box and vinyl this time around
Why am I always tearing up listening to Heilung...
Heilung is more that a music for me its an therapy 💙
If y’all ever come to Texas, best believe I will be there. I am so glad YT has recommended me yall
The Best Part of this great song is from 1:20 to 3:50.....
I love the Voice from Maria - verry lovely.....
More from this......
This part is simply amazing, Mary's voice is mesmerizing, some kind of call from the past is felt by the soul
I will use this magical song to dispell all civilization's spells cast on me. Thank you
Þat ér ekki var. Vara Sandr né sær
I could live in the ending of this piece. Unreal, the sound they've achieved.
I would live in it too. Genuinely made me cry, and make a pencil painting based off what I see in the music.
Don't try to understand it. Feel it.
سفری شنیداریست این نه یک قطعهیِ تنها. سفری به سلامتی که از یاد رفته، سلامتی کمیاب.
Is it just me, or once the chanting of the Sator-Arepo-Tenet-Opera-Rotas words comes I instantly chant it together with the song? I also felt some kind of energy flowing when I first caught myself chanting the words of the song.
Thank you Heilung for this piece too, and for helping me in my journey with your songs.
As an artist I can tell, your music inspires me to create a world of fantasy with interesting characters based on the atmosphere of these songs. Not to mention, ever since I've heard the previous albums I got interested in other ancient cultures and dug them in details. :)
I'm still speechless whenever I hear any of your songs. Hope to see you live someday! Take care and keep up the great work, your music is unlike anything I've heard before!
I haven't enjoyed a Heilung song this much since I heard Krigsgaldr. All their stuff is great, but this is a whole other level of transcendence.
This is an absolute musical masterpiece.
Vocals are beyond description, mi so beholden
I'm listening to this in a bus, going home from a Heilung concert in Nürnberg. I need such concerts every day.
Levitated off the floor listening to this song....seeing your beautiful tribe in Glasgow, January.....can't wait to feel this gift live. I love you guys.
maybe my favourite Heilung piece...trance-inducing!
I have a tattoo of Sator Square that takes up my entire back. For over a decade I thought it was fun to explain it to others because no one knew what it was. Today it even turned into music... (great music, by the way).
I have to say, Heilung is the best band of this genre in the whole world .
Odin has given HEILUNG a great gift! Skal!🧔♀🎆🎵🎶🥁❤
Heilung one more time surpass my expectations (and they are so high) and guys, you make something magical, brutal, original... This next album is a masterpiece like the other albums but this one with a different point of view maybe, and with a different soul but keeping the essence. Thank you a lot for doing music, guys you save my mind and me.
This band just blows me away, more and more with every new release. I hope that Heilung will come to South Africa one day. Seeing this live will be so special.
Heilung just created a villain-theme-track of the most terrifying version of an immortal, all powerful deity. Thank you. I will continue writing my novel now
Its MasterPiece
Thanks Maria Franz 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I visualise the Shaman in one of Nordic regions surrounded by dense forest and there is a ritualistic fire burning. I visualise this listening to the track while I am doing my daily walking . This really helps me in bringing down the pain and takes me to a trance. Thank you Heilung. Respect from the Vedic Land of India 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Good a fellow indian discovered it
Flying through the Universe in every directional configuration known and unknown in Physics. Dissolved in Time Elemental.
THAT’S how I experienced this miraculous musical working of The Square!
Maria's voice gives me chills and makes me feel part of everything all at once. I love this so much, thank you for sharing this with us. Heilung is amazing, I cannot wait to hear more!
This is some hollo and arankar summoning
I like to go and sit in the forrest with some Heilung and psilocybin. It's one of the few things that bring me peace. Or something close to it anyway. Fascinating stuff.
What's your favorite album to take mushrooms with?
@@ECARVES They're all really good but I revisit Futha pretty frequently.
Danke.
I sincerely hope you guys know what a masterpiece you created. This is absolutely genius. I hope you're proud of this achievement. This is my song of the year.
So far, I love every song and cannot wait for this album.

Wow , this is magical and mind capturing.. Heilung is always hitting the spot, way to go 🔥⛰️🍄🏔️🤘🧙🌑☠️🦌
This song kind of feels like the story of life itself. And it feels like it represents the past, present and future in regards to my feelings.
It is odd to say so, but this song makes me cry on many parts and at the same time it causes anxiety at some points. Like being scared of the unknown... it is hard to explain. My favorite part is the end though, no Heilung song hits harder than the beginning and especially the end of this beautiful song!
I may be weird to feel like that, but I am certain of what I feel when listening to it and it makes the song for me so magical. Infact, it is my favorite song of Heilung.
Such a magical masterpiece! Thank you Heilung!
Heilung never disappoints! Was NOT expecting the kids at the beginning!
Dude something about the children then going into the raspy voice gave me chills
This song is beautiful on so many levels and hits hard, Heilung never disappoints.
the fact that the gator square is found all over Europe and is also found in Syria is very profound
Words fail me once again.. I heard it last night for the first time and wtf... It gets me into an indescribable state. I felt various feelings throghout this song.
nothing short of incredible. i never expect anything less from heilung; they ALWAYS exceed my expectations by far! this song is fucking incredible. amazing. spell-binding. trance-inducing. like all of their pieces, it transports you to another time and place. i always feel like i belong when i listen to heilung. like, being with them, in that time, even for a moment, is where i truly belong. i am genuinely in fucking AWE of their musical genius and talent.
i also particularly enjoyed the beginning with the children chanting with presumably kai (or christopher, ofc). it was so different to how their songs usually begin, in that it had that added element of children's innocence. it was amazing. this entire song is amazing. i could truly rant about it for DAYS on end
How bout we rant about it in this thread til day's end? That song is absolutely brilliant
IMO the children’s chanting is an innocent and symbolic prelude to the mind game of the deep and cosmic significance of the magic square . Heilung have composed an ode to universal symmetry based on musical emotions. This is a powerful achievement.
Words can never describe how incredible this is. I did not know it was possible for music to be this good.
Heilung, please never stop making music, please!!
