Tokyo’s Ariake Arena will host two consecutive days of championship action - eight fights and seven world title showdowns - streaming live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ during the early morning hours.
The action continues Monday, Oct. 14, as three-division king Junto Nakatani defends his WBC bantamweight world title against Petch Sor Chitpattana. In the 10-round co-feature, former kickboxing world champion Tenshin Nasukawa (4-0, 2 KOs) faces Filipino contender Gerwin Asilo (9-0, 4 KOs) for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title.

@@K0nc3pt10n it's okay, it was an Exhibition match. It don't count towards any record, but it was like a crappy fixed matched. You can watch again. Embarrassing match of Tenshin, they both did it for money.

It’s crazy to believe he conquered Kickboxing at 20 years old already considered a legend 44-0 30 kos in kickboxing undefeated in MMA and Boxing and now 26 just won a vacant wbo asian title unfortunate that people mainly know him for fighting Floyd in that horrid exhibition match. This guy will get better as time goes I hope his career will improve his hands because his greatest weapon is his kicks especially his Rolling thunder which is a thing of beauty his combination too are slick. Tenshin definitely has more power at 118 compared to 122. His first 3 fights were at 122 and he didn’t seem to have that much power. His last fight was at 118 and he definitely seems more powerful there.
His trainer said in some video that right after he switched from kickboxing to boxing, he had no punching power and thought “are you kidding me?”, so the change in class and the change in punching style may have something to do with it.
punching power not carrying up is a silly boxing myth, everyone gets stronger when they add muscle, it's just that some boxers are less strong relative to the field, meet stronger opposition in their new weight class, or are just not as fast so they set up their strikes worse, less accuracy meaning less finishing capacity. I wish people wouldn't say that boxers lost power at a higher weight class, that is certainly NEVER the case. tenshin might actually have more upper body mass now that he focuses less on legs
@@lusteraliaszeroyes but opponents at higher weight classes are also much bigger. With that being said, Tenshin can definitely has more power if he builds muscle mass, he is still very skinny but his punching form is near perfect. Besides Inoue, I think he has the best hands and iq in Japan (and they have a lot of great boxers atm).
@@high.already being much bigger =! much more punch resistant. in fact, if you look at knockout rates per division they rise in perfect relationship with higher weight, no exceptions. this is also true for kickboxing and mma. it's also worth noting that this last fight was the first time he actually made 118 and his punching power seemed diminished. I basically agree with the rest of the sentiment though, tenshin has a genius level sense of positioning, accuracy and creativity. I think he already smokes nishida or takei, might need some time before he faces junto, he's still a rookie after all, and that guy is a p4p candidate.
@@lusteraliaszero it most certainly is the case, everytime. Mayweather was ko monster at lightweight. Then he moved up and was no longer ko master. Same happens for every fighter. Every fighter They have an optimal weight class where their punching ability is maximized

One of the best combat sports athletes on the planet. He has a wins against Rodtang and Takeru in kickboxing. That says it all right there. He will be a boxing champion for sure, but i hope they don't fast track him too quickly. He still needs more ring time to further round out his boxing game.

Tenshin Nasukawa is an outstanding kickboxer, and his transition to boxing has drawn a lot of attention in Japan. However, his first three fights were somewhat underwhelming. In his most recent fourth fight, though, he delivered an excellent performance, and it seems like he's finally adjusted. I'm really looking forward to his next match!
