What a life that young fella can lead ..brilliant ..my parents thought I was mad as a box of frogs when I got into fishing and then certifiable when I ended up managing the deer on a couple of estates ..my old fella wouldn’t eat wild venison on the grounds he didn’t know where it had been ..😂😂..city folk till they died ..

Actually it’s all good, despite being triple vaccinated I got the dreaded c virus, got a cold and a bit of a headache, not too bad except I can’t taste anything, so food and drink is now two flavours, hot or cold.
So at home isolating, sharpening my knives and waiting to get out.

Just a little idea used to always do it with the Robbins throw a Match on the ground and I’ll do the same thing every time amazing
Please try next time you come across a Bush robin lie to match throw on ground the robin will put it out every time
Tie a plastic bobber with some leader line then flys. same set up AZ a fly rod set up but in stead of an indicator and a fly rod your set up is on a spin rod you can even tie a double fly set up same way with leader to fly then nymph
Yeah, used to do this with a stick and flies and also worms. We didn't have any flies on hand and couldn't be bothered grunting up a worm. The technique your describing works best with a heavily weighted nymph first then a foot and a half leader going from the bend in the heavy nymph to a light pheasant tail or similar. That way it gets the heavy nymph bouncing with the lighter one flailing around. Hard to keep the float going slow, that's why we used a small stick instead of a plastic bobber float. Also used to catch kingfish using a similar method. Tennis ball half filled with water with a small slimy jack underneath. That way we could turf the weighted tennis ball and live bait out past the breakers then wait for a kingy to smash it. Cheer!!!

you can hunt the whole year no season you can hunt on doc land which is public land and all you need is a permit and good thing about it is that it’s free

About 15:40 Charlie picks up a casting and suddenly has a rifle then back to a bow. What’s happening…
It's how movies are made mate. It's not always as simple as carrying a camera and pointing it. Sometimes we re shoot some scenes ( called a pick up ) sometimes we blend 2 or 3 hunts together to make it look like 1 hunt. Sometimes 3 days are filmed and condensed to make it look like 1 day.
Hence the reason I ask people to pitch in on Patreon. To make a good episode takes many hours, not only on the hill, but sitting in front of a screen as well. Think of the 4wd segment in here. How long it took to get the multiple camera angles with multiple cameras. The stopping and starting and reversing and getting another take.... It's very very time consuming and most people have absolutely no idea. Hence the occasional mistake where charlie was carrying the gun while I carried his bow. Cheers
We took a gun just in case there was a big stag on the clearing... But predominantly it was a goat hunt
