    Thank you for sharing a useful video. I was not able to take it out until watch this and using a plier and it is much easier with this tool. Finally, I fixed 2007 Siena. Thanks again.

    Cop said, "just a warning, get it fixed, only $1.50 for a bulb."
    Cost me $7.12 for 2 bulbs at O'Reilly's auto store!
    Followed your video & removed everything without problems. It did take me 40 mins to find a socket that would fit. I had ZERO trouble unscrewing the burnt out bulbs with my fingers, going through the holes on the metal covering either side of the bulb housing.
    It was supposed to rain, & in just wanted to get it ready to slap 2 new bulbs in before work last night. Gonna put all the other crap back on today.
    I struggled & cussed for 30 mins in auto parts parking lot. I NEVER could get the bulb housings back in to place. I finally begged this TALL guy that worked at the store to help me out. It wasn't easy for him, but he got them both in in about 5 mins. I was too short (5'5") to do it. I lined up the tabs but they never "dropped" into the hole, EVER!
    I still appreciated this video to get me going. Thanks.

    Wow - you did this while it was snowing! impressive! I got the handle strap off with some effort. The trick was to squeeze it from the side and push up off the pointy part.

      Thanks for subbing to my channel and commenting. Yes, my wife was stopped by the city police for having that bulb out so that's why I have to replace during the winter. Didn't want her to get stop again.

    Thanks! The bulb holders are hard to turn because of the rubber weather sealant. I put some silicone grease around the holder rim and they went back in quite easily. But getting them out was quite the pain for all the reasons you explained. I used a pair of right-angled pliers which worked well.
    After going through the trouble of removing the panel, you might as well replace the other four bulbs. On the 2006, after undoing all the clips around edges, the panel is left hanging by two plastic hooks and simply lifts out.

    What's the part number for the lightbulb? I have a 2008 Toyota sienna LE, need the part number for the bulb.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I can't remember, but if you take out the light bulb and take it to any auto parts store or Walmart, they should be able to find it by the number that's on the old bulb.

      @@PUREMEATPURSUIT Took me an hour in a half. The bulb holders were the worst because I was afraid I would break them. Would have gladly paid a shop or dealer 50 bucks to do this. Ugh.

      @@SteveLord yep, that's the hardest part of the process, that's why I was complaining in my video and warming people.

      Meat B4Bones Outdoors I’m also doing it in super cold temps so everything is super stiff. I’m spent but I didn’t break anything and wife is happy.

    The light socket turns or it pops out? I took it apart and just could take out the light so i just ended puting it back.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Honestly, it's been so long that I really don't remember, but I believe it's either pulling or just push in a little and twist and the light should come out.

    Taking out is never the problem> Its putting back that is always the issue with me...

    I had exactly all the problems you had with the bulb holder. I tried and tried starting with the left side and it was absolutely insane. Finally the bulb holder and bulb popped out while twisting down (CCW)with all the strength I could give, the entire time wondering if I was going to break something. Then I never was able to put it back on the car. I never got the right side bulb and holder out. What a shitty design! Guess the Japanese designers are laughing their butts off!! 😠

    Which way did you all turn it!!!! Not one of you describes clock-wise right left etc ugh,,,,,,

    • @PUREMEATPURSUIT
      @PUREMEATPURSUIT  5 лет назад +1

      Usually when taking off it's counter clock wise and putting back on is clock wise. Hope this helps.

    • @chuckleoni338
      @chuckleoni338 5 лет назад +1

      Yes it is counter clockwise for both license plate bulbs my 2006 it’s not easy you definitely need to get a pair of long pliers or channel locks and turn it counterclockwise only about a half an inch go back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth and hopefully it’ll click out there’s no reason you couldn’t spray some WD in there and walk away for five minutes and come back , my hands are to big to fit in that space..
