    My grandpa was a navy chaplain. I'm so proud of him for giving sailors God's word at sea.

      I don't think so, they're never going to let you into the job w/o being willing to kill someone - and despite being a believer, you won't honor God by killing someone if you can choose not too. Just like snipers, you can likely stop anyone from doing anything by not shooting to kill, but if you get caught with no kills as a sniper - they'd likely throw you out, and not even likely select you as a sniper if you didn't kill your targets when you were specializing.

    • @alanncsu3243
      @alanncsu3243 Год назад

      Seals are a voluntary career, so are snipers, so are probably every other special forces selections (ie: green beret, delta, etc)... you are volunteering to kill people knowingly by choice as a part of the job requirement. When believers make unbeliever decisions, they're going to eventually reap unbeliever consequences in their lives in response... you can't join groups that known for being entirely unmerciful voluntarily, and expect God to be merciful to you in response. Operators might be saved eternally, but this life can become extremely hard to survive before you get to your physical death - like the "builder who built his house on sand"... you would experience crash after crash in your life, until you'd be willing to start following God's commands rather than the world's commands.

    Maybe it's just me but I don't feel they can represent all (non-) faiths if they're wearing a cross on their shoulder.

    • @k.joyhall6764
      @k.joyhall6764 5 лет назад +2

      The chaplain does not necessarily wear a cross, a Rabbi would wear a Star of David and image of the tablets, a Muslim would wear a star and crescent, etc. First and foremost the chaplain aids all personnel to retain and express their 1st amendment right to freedom of religion, whatever that religion or non-religion may be.

      I don't know why you'd suppose that, when everyone is born an unbeliever by birth - how are the disqualified to know how to help or care for unbelievers, when we were all that way and we all know family/friends/colleagues who are also that way?
