I took one for a test drive the other day. Fantastic car. The option of picking between the Comfort, auto, and dynamic settings is simply brilliant. Handling, acceleration and comfort, the best sports sedan I've driven yet, including the BMW335xi
No, lol. Im guessing the yellow paint remark had you guessing that? Generally-speaking, I can't stand bright colors like yellow, orange, red, etc. but this car pulls off yellow imo
I still wish they kept the V8. I know why they did it, so people would stop comparing the S4 to the M3, but beyond $50,000 a V6 isnt such a good value. Otherwise, its a great machine, I saw a white one at the ATL auto show and its nice, you even get a 7 speed DSG if you want.
@RickMartin7 what are you talking about? The old 2.7biturbo was in the B5 S4 and the old A6, it was never an option for the A4. I don't even understand why you brought the 2.7 up though? Its a dead motor, Audi hasn't touched it since 2002. It is still the most sought after motor for enthusiasts that Audi ever made but that's about it. The only thing the 4.2 V8 had going for it was the sound and you need a very pricey full exhaust to get anything resembling a decent V8 growl.
Holy shit 4.7 secs 0-60. If this new S4 is so good then I'm guessing the supposed RS4 will have scant advantage over this. Then again this car wowed me so the RS4 should do so equally.
@jeffzahnd True. But the S4 is much more practical than a 'vette. Being a five passenger AWD sedan means you could drive it year round. Apples vs. Oranges really. The Corvette would make a better weekend warrior. You could build it for drag racing/auto x/road racing. Or you could take the wife/girlfriend/mistress on a weekend getaway.
@MrPAUL323 No. The S4 is in a higher class than the Evo. I love Evos, but those are for the boy-racer type. I'd take an Evo simply because it's cheaper. But if I had the dough I'd definitely get the better S4
@gofishing700 When you buy an Audi or other luxurious German brand, you don't just buy straight line acceleration speed. If you are really a fan of drag race, you should get a motorcycle instead. You buy an Audi for comfort, steering precision as well as ultimate safety. In my eyes, no matter how fast your evo is, it is still a Mitsubishi, a Company that is designed to build cheap cars. Trust me, Audi S4 might be slower, but you will sure look good in it.
@RayzaBlayz Starts at $47,000. In an M3 you don't get 27mpg highway, a supercharger, AWD, or the gorgeous interior/exterior of the Audi. The S4 isn't even supposed to be in the same class as the M3, it's aimed more at the 335i and defeats it in just about every area.
+Brendan Kearney 2010 is when the B8 S4 debuted, with the supercharged V6. I wasn't happy about it either -- then I drove one & bought one. They're lighter & faster & all around a better car than the previous V8 S4's -- they just don't have that nice V8 sound. They're also reliable, unlike older S4's. Just an all around better car, that sadly doesn't have the bad ass sound anymore.

It weird how times vary by so many factors. My APR '10 does 4.2 and 12.6 @ 108.5 and this stock version hits 109 at 13.1.

Love the swap to the supercharged V6. Much more mod friendly than the 4.2 NA V8. Add a pully swap, exhaust, intake, and tune and expect 50+ rwhp.

i like the new S4 but I'd rather have the last generation S4 because of the v8. The v8 sound sooooo much better!
