Already have the Fenix but appreciate knowing about the update. Even more excited about the upcoming A319 and A321. I have been using the LVFR versions with Horizon mods up until now, but I am anxious to try the Fenix versions. I expect they will be much better. Thanks sir!
For the record, my landings in this aircraft are just as bad as my landings in all my other add-on aircraft. I'm waiting for an update to my abilities to hope for improvement.
@@dertraxx4808 I've got a little bit better over the last couple of months by disconnecting the auto throttle at 2,000 ft AGL and the autopilot at 1,000 ft. AGL. I just bit the bullet and slowly got a little bit better. Now I'm not taxing in with my landing gear stuck through the wing.
My initial impression is that performance has taken a huge leap forward. FlyTampa EHAM was not usable for me before, even with autofps reducing LOD to 50. Now standing at gate, I get 40-50 fps. Unfortunately I have no time to fly anywhere atm, but I am really impressed so far!
I did a short pattern around EHAM. FPS dropped down to 20fps on final. There are may be other factors affecting my fps, photogrammetry city for example. I probably continue to avoid flying to EHAM, but it may well serve as a departure airport. I still believe Fenix has better performance now.
Just checked on my own computer - performance is MUCH better. Whatever was affecting my computer in particular has been fixed. Woohoo! That said, I did have to play around with my display settings to get the thing working properly. Great update from Fenix!
The most expensive pmdg on msfs is currently 56 pounds, not 70. They have cheaper models at just under 30 pounds and around 40 pounds respectively. That being said the fenix base model at 40 pounds and the fenix expansion at 40 pounds looks like great value to me. Thankfully, gone are the days of p3d and xp where you're paying upwards of 100 pounds for a set of aircraft variants.
The PMDG B737-600 is for sale at its usual price of £29.24 at the msfs marketplace, it’s great value for anyone who wants to try out a good standard 737. I own & love both Fenix & PMDG.
The MSFS simulator is a fantastic learning tool for those in less fortunate countries. Making it more affordable is a great step forward and opportunity for kids everywhere with this great learning module for eager children wanting to fly in their schools & homes..
Speaking of controlling the plane for those of us who have yoke controllers. The fenix developers posted a recommended sensitivity settings for msfs right after the update.. not this update but the one earlier in the year.. I will say it is much different than what I use for other aircraft. I set up a profile in msfs just for the fenix ..
I wished fenix would perform like pmdgs on my system but i cant complain i noticed the performance improvement on fps both inside and out, not a big fan of the gsx integration even though its very convenient but my big issue and i would. Say its the only issue i have with fenix its that when the sims stutters and im in landing config it kinda dive abruptly when inflight sometimes act weird but its mostly on landings other than that i love the product and for the price its great! This guys at fenix always deliver
What a great time to be a flight-simmer... literally everything else sucks post 2020/2019, but msfs community and devs like Fenix make living in the modern age less of a hell lol
you should see the *ground friction* effects on the FBW A32NX. you can literally gain about 30 knots just by keeping the throttle levers on the idle position, also I may be getting a new computer so I can finally run the Fenix!!
Actually this also has to do with the respective engines idle thrust. For both the CFM LEAP on the FBW A320 and the IAE Engines they are quite high. For the CFM 56 variants it is realistic that you have to add thrust in order to start taxiing. Fenix got that right as well

Thrilled about the latest update aimed at enhancing ground effect behavior and reducing ground friction-it's definitely needed. The way the sim models the A320 in these aspects has been amusing, to put it mildly. Appreciate the update, Easyjetsimpilot, and thanks for the insightful video!
I gained a few FPS with the new update which is good - had an issue with managed descent and green dot going bit mad, but that was probably me and/or some weird routing into LFPG.....
@@NicolajFlies I have fairly low end PC i7-8700k/1080Ti/32gb Ram- play on a 4k monitor at render scale of circa 70 - at airports generally 25-30FPS, probably now more consistent at 30. Thow-in AutoFPS that can add a couple more frames. This is fine for me, smooth, no stutters. With cruise get around 35FPS ish now..
I didn't notice any improvement in FPS (I use VR), but from a visual point of view everything got much worse (for example, animation of knobs on the overhead etc.). I had to go back to the previous version.
I took the plunge and decided to buy Fenix and put FBW on the back burner for a bit but I regret it. For a start, i can’t access the ground services tab on the EFB, discord support is a nightmare to access when FBW is straight in Discord and ask.
I may be completely wrong Here Gav but my first thought after seeing the fenix go on sale was “Have they done this because maybe they think the FBW a380 is dropping soon” and with it being the sims most eagerly anticipated aircraft release probably ever I can’t see many other planes getting flown at all for atleast a few months after its release :)
Be interesting to see the A380 in the skies, but most airports can only handle 3-4 at a time at the gates/ramps, so we could get asked to disconnect as soon as we vacate the runway if the large gates are already occupied.

This is great news, would love the Fenix thanks for the heads up. I have a question. I use Saitek autopilot, switch and radio panals and the airbus captains pack sidestick and thrust Quadrant, do they work with the Fenix?
They opened up the aircraft to allow use with homecockpit things. Works perfectly with Mobiflight now so if you can get it connected via that, it'll work I'm sure. Worth checking further if it's a dealbreaker/maker feature though. That stuff is new in B2V2 which allowed the MiniFCU to work (and other items) :)

It will be compatible, as will most other addons, as Asobo have said that will be the case (otherwise, no one would buy the new sim given the huge amount of content that is available for MSFS 2020)

Well, the BEST A320 would be a merge between the flight dynamics of the A32NX and the systems of the Fenix. Even though it’s a great airplane with a great price.
The flight dynamics are better in the a32NX? I´m thinking in buy the Fenix, but I reall like the FBW handling, just the stutters that are annoying in the dev version.
These videos are great my system all setup BUT........how do I get answers to the Fenix A320 and the aitcraft faults and warnings. I'm being dogged by a couple every time I use it and the constant audio warning is driving me nuts.😡 "cab/press LDG Elev" "auto FLT A/thr limited" plus "LVR CLB" constantly flashing unless I close thrust levers. Grateful for any pointers.

I wonder if you could make a video about some of the systems that some of us novices may come across. I have the mini FCU which is good but once or twice l have done something to trip the AP off and the fcu does not respond and the speed will very slowly decrease or increase until l fly manually and presumably get within parameters. Love the fenix a320. It’s great! It’s just upsetting that the community has been begging for x4, and it’s locked to x2 max sim rate. That’s really the only problem with it. Otherwise, great.

No brainer not to buy if you don’t have this excellent aircraft. Also, I do not view £39.99 as at all excessive for the A319/321 add ons. Remember FSLabs wanted over £100 for the basic model. (I think they have long missed the MSFS boat now). Gavin, what Palma scenery did you use in the video?
Well, it is the best 320 for msfs by far… but I have some reserves stating it is the best 320 in all sims. FSLABS 320 is superb Just a pitty it hasnt been ported from p3d into newer platforms… their choice.
I am happy with FBW free version. With Wars being fought across the world, a huge financial uncertainty looms and it's best to save every penny one can. No one in this world will give you even 40 GBP if you are in an urgent and desperate need. Sad reality!!
Unfortunately, the new update (407) has brought back the blue outline on the buttons/handles/doors etc when you hover the cursor over them, which imho ruins the immersion. If it's there because of popular demand (Really? people like that?) please at least offer a choice of turning it off.
With me it is the same. In General Options\Accessibility\Cockpit Interaction you can switch to „legacy“ from „locked“ to remove the blue marker, but then complex button control with e.g. mouse wheel click function is not possible. The issue with the blue markings I already had with the previous big Block 2 Update of FENIX. With an update it had then disappeared.
@@ollifaff8698 I am a big fan of the "Locked" mode immersion-wise. The Legacy is even worst because you have to aim the mouse at, below or above the button, wait for the cursor to change and then execute the action. With the Locked mode I just right-click to pull the knob out or centre-click to push it in. I spoke with the Fenix team and they responded that they brought the blue highlight back after multiple requests, but they are looking to add this as a switchable option in the future. In the mean time I'm back to the 392 version.
OK I understand that the first update caused a loss of liveries because of the engine and model changes to the Fenix but why does this update again cause a problem with liveries? I stiil don t have the liveries I lost from the first update. I m getting tired of this from the Fenix.
I really hope the fps increase is for real. The plane is beautiful and looks great, but the performance is terrible compared to any other aircraft. Its okay for normal 2d , but its just stuttery enough to ruin the VR experience for me. My system isnt the best but is pretty good. Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 32 gb of ram ram, rtx 4070 ti super. I shouldn't be having issues. I have my vr settings turned down and have exceptional performance with every other aircraft.
Same i have a similar system and when i bring it up to the community they start attacking me like it’s a personal matter!! Fenix performance is a disgrace sadly it’s on par with the inishit A300
@juanramoncliment6228 , hate to say it but it has everything to do with the fenix. I understand VR is demanding, but can you explain why every other aircraft in the simulator performs excellent. My PC perform excellent with every other aircraft in VR. The Fenix is just poorly optimized. You can try to say otherwise, but the proof is right there. A 4070ti super isn't a 4090, but it is a high peformance card. I have a ryzen 7 5800x3d, which is probably the best last gen gaming cpu out there. There is no reason for stutters. FPS is 15 plus frames lower with the fenix in 2D mode. It runs buttery smooth, but switch to vr and it's not what it should be. All I can say is FBW for the win. The fenix is more study level, but isn't worth the unnecessary loss in performance. Unfortunately the last update didn't help, but maybe eventually one will make it usable in VR for me.
@slizzy418 Not sure if it's denial or what. I've also seen people get berated for bringing up the poor optimization of the fenix. It really makes me scratch my head because it's a product we all paid for. I've seen numerous people turning down graphics settings for better performance. The plane is good, but its not that good for me. I won't turn down my settings for one plane. I get acceptable smooth performance with the fenix in normal 2d mode, but its still far worse than any other aircraft. People shouldn't need a 4090.
@@mattryan9805 because they are indie developers people feel more connected to them they’re funny young & goofy which makes the idiots on the forms and Reddit gobble it up easily. And this is the whole trick behind all those fanboys who will always defend the fenix no matter what and what I also observed that they often fly to smaller airports which doesn’t hinder performance as much as as complex international airports… but look how people slander PMDG when they are the best simulator, developers, great performance and great modeling unlike the other brain dead developers who make every part in the plane an 8K texture even in places that you won’t be able to see, these people don’t give a shit about optimization and they should be pirated! And most people who don’t are either people with already a low end system and low settings or a kid with 4090.. there’s no in between with the garbage fenix. Thank god PMDG is there can’t imagine a plane the same size as a B777 like a340 for example from fenix it would be a stutter fest and won’t work even with the high-end systems.

I'll step away for a while and wait until my son can help me out - if I live that long - in a couple of months time when he visits. Technical proficiency is an unachievable goal for me and I get awfully frustrated when stepping outside my comfort zone and tinkering in the dark area of software loading.

@@rayharris8113 FSlabs for starters and the tolliss a320 neo (theres an addon that makes it the ceo). Once you get more than 150/200 hours on these aircraft (expect for the Fenix one, around 5 hours on that one because of an issue I had) you'll notice the huge differences there are in each aircraft, for example, the flight dynamics and physics, aircraft sistems, etc.. thats what makes them better than the fenix. The issue I had with the fenix a320 (and never had with any aircraft in any simulator) was that my joystick had a delay of around 1 second, something that is extremely noticeable and annoying. Support team wasn't able to present any fixes to the issue I had and in the end I had to ask for a refund (which was actually pretty fast, 2 hours after sending the email I received one back from them telling me they had already sent the money back and that in a few days it should be in my bank account).

Me too. Start the flare at 30ft. Retard at 20ft. Either floats or slams onto the runway. Any tips to improve the technique please?

What I don't understand is how important it is that Vueling doesn't have its own livery, but rather that you have to look for it from third parties.

I don't use the Saitek stuff, but I use all the thrustmaster equipment perfectly with the Fenix.
The airbus captains pack works but you have to calibrate the throttle though the aircraft MCDU.
I can't see why the saitek stuff wouldn't work.

Is anyone still having the auto pilot disconnecting at random times since the V2 update, it is so frustrating I cannot seem to resolve this issue.

LVR CLB and AUTO THR LIM are due to your thrust levers not being both set in the CL gate.

Yes it will be an additional £39.99 for the other planes. And you will need the A320 to be able to get the expansion pack.

Even with your fix, I still have to reset the license everything I want to load the Fenix. Fenix pretend they know nothing of it.....and deflect.

Unfortunately, the new update (407) has brought back the blue outline on the buttons/handles/doors etc when you hover the cursor over them, which imho ruins the immersion.
If it's there because of popular demand (Really? people like that?) please at least offer a choice of turning it off.
With me it is the same. In General Options\Accessibility\Cockpit Interaction you can switch to „legacy“ from „locked“ to remove the blue marker, but then complex button control with e.g. mouse wheel click function is not possible.
The issue with the blue markings I already had with the previous big Block 2 Update of FENIX. With an update it had then disappeared.
@@ollifaff8698 I am a big fan of the "Locked" mode immersion-wise. The Legacy is even worst because you have to aim the mouse at, below or above the button, wait for the cursor to change and then execute the action. With the Locked mode I just right-click to pull the knob out or centre-click to push it in.
I spoke with the Fenix team and they responded that they brought the blue highlight back after multiple requests, but they are looking to add this as a switchable option in the future. In the mean time I'm back to the 392 version.

OK I understand that the first update caused a loss of liveries because of the engine and model changes to the Fenix but why does this update again cause a problem with liveries? I stiil don t have the liveries I lost from the first update. I m getting tired of this from the Fenix.

I really hope the fps increase is for real.
The plane is beautiful and looks great, but the performance is terrible compared to any other aircraft. Its okay for normal 2d , but its just stuttery enough to ruin the VR experience for me. My system isnt the best but is pretty good. Ryzen 7 5800x3d, 32 gb of ram ram, rtx 4070 ti super. I shouldn't be having issues. I have my vr settings turned down and have exceptional performance with every other aircraft.
Same i have a similar system and when i bring it up to the community they start attacking me like it’s a personal matter!! Fenix performance is a disgrace sadly it’s on par with the inishit A300

I have Ryzen 5600 with 64 d ram and an 8 GB gtx 1070 and it works fantastic
@juanramoncliment6228 , hate to say it but it has everything to do with the fenix. I understand VR is demanding, but can you explain why every other aircraft in the simulator performs excellent. My PC perform excellent with every other aircraft in VR. The Fenix is just poorly optimized. You can try to say otherwise, but the proof is right there. A 4070ti super isn't a 4090, but it is a high peformance card. I have a ryzen 7 5800x3d, which is probably the best last gen gaming cpu out there. There is no reason for stutters. FPS is 15 plus frames lower with the fenix in 2D mode. It runs buttery smooth, but switch to vr and it's not what it should be. All I can say is FBW for the win. The fenix is more study level, but isn't worth the unnecessary loss in performance. Unfortunately the last update didn't help, but maybe eventually one will make it usable in VR for me.
@slizzy418 Not sure if it's denial or what. I've also seen people get berated for bringing up the poor optimization of the fenix. It really makes me scratch my head because it's a product we all paid for. I've seen numerous people turning down graphics settings for better performance. The plane is good, but its not that good for me. I won't turn down my settings for one plane. I get acceptable smooth performance with the fenix in normal 2d mode, but its still far worse than any other aircraft. People shouldn't need a 4090.
@@mattryan9805 because they are indie developers people feel more connected to them they’re funny young & goofy which makes the idiots on the forms and Reddit gobble it up easily. And this is the whole trick behind all those fanboys who will always defend the fenix no matter what and what I also observed that they often fly to smaller airports which doesn’t hinder performance as much as as complex international airports… but look how people slander PMDG when they are the best simulator, developers, great performance and great modeling unlike the other brain dead developers who make every part in the plane an 8K texture even in places that you won’t be able to see, these people don’t give a shit about optimization and they should be pirated! And most people who don’t are either people with already a low end system and low settings or a kid with 4090.. there’s no in between with the garbage fenix.
Thank god PMDG is there can’t imagine a plane the same size as a B777 like a340 for example from fenix it would be a stutter fest and won’t work even with the high-end systems.

It should handle it no problem with the correct settings. I have an I7 7700 with an RTX 2060 and it runs perfectly for me.

@@Easyjetsimpilot I am an Airbus fan and in the real world go out of my way to fly Airbus. I'll step away for a while and wait until my son can help me out - if I live that long - in a couple of months time when he visits. Technical proficiency is an unachievable goal for me and I get awfully frustrated when stepping outside my comfort zone and tinkering in the dark area of software loading.

@@rayharris8113 FSlabs for starters and the tolliss a320 neo (theres an addon that makes it the ceo). Once you get more than 150/200 hours on these aircraft (expect for the Fenix one, around 5 hours on that one because of an issue I had) you'll notice the huge differences there are in each aircraft, for example, the flight dynamics and physics, aircraft sistems, etc.. thats what makes them better than the fenix.
The issue I had with the fenix a320 (and never had with any aircraft in any simulator) was that my joystick had a delay of around 1 second, something that is extremely noticeable and annoying. Support team wasn't able to present any fixes to the issue I had and in the end I had to ask for a refund (which was actually pretty fast, 2 hours after sending the email I received one back from them telling me they had already sent the money back and that in a few days it should be in my bank account).
He loves the Fslabs the most. He also likes to use the Toliss aircraft.
