Are there any situations when offsetting a curve will output more than one curve? E.g. if the input is a self intersecting curve, and I want to offset inwards. Will it output more than one curve in such case? Or will it result in an error?
What about case when you try to offset non convex shape and some lines (or corners) shall be removed when offset is enough large? Example shape is for example half moon contour : 🌙. With enough large offset it shall become a single circle.
It should work, at least there is intersections treatment in the algorithm. I should probably have shown it in the video. Anyways, these offsets are used in some viable parametric modelers (not A+ ones though), so they are kinda okay.
We (our team) run a forum here: analysissitus.org/forum/index.php Maybe it's less convenient than discord and for sure less interactive, but it works well for discussing things, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences.
always a great day when we get a new Quaoar's video! thanks.

Is it possible to make offset for non planar spline such as circular helix at plane which perpendicular to direction of helix?

Hey Quaoar, used a lot of your videos for my work with OCCT. I was wondering if you have or using a Discord server for OCCT related questions and etc.
