Yo man, I’m a born and raised New Orleans Funk/Jazz musician, and I’m just hear to say I love your grove, pocket, and vibe. You play with the tastiest intention. Thanks for this awesome lesson! Also, when you did that altered pentatonic I made that stank face cause it caught me off guard! Thanks my friend.
Hey man! I just want to come in here and say you have masterful playing, and I’m super glad I decided to really get down and learn from a person who has an embodied expression of the music. I was playing this song with way too much New Orleans influence, especially in how I was playing the upbeats with upstrokes rather than upbeats being okay with down strokes. Similarly, while I wasn’t playing all messy and I was playing it tightly, I was doing a like of chick’n scratching on the guitar parts. I definitely wasn’t really capturing the nuance of the staccato and palm mute ideas. With all of it, I was in the right area to “fake it”, yet I really don’t want to fake this tune because I have mad respect for Jamaican Culture, Reggae, and Bob Marley. Thanks man
@@XyanGuitar when I saw that angry face over the chicken scratching I felt called out 🤣😭😅 I was like “damn, he got me” and you said “I don’t know what this is, but it isn’t reggae” I was like “yea, you right” and had a laugh We call “Chicken Stratch’n” or “Chankin!” But one thing I now know for sure is that It damn well isn’t Reggae! Lol I appreciate that you tell it like it is with some love and soul. I feel like I owe ya a lesson on New Orleans music! And big ups to you, and stay blessed! ❤️
I always thaught you where right or do you. have a relitive who plays right any way your ausem and I did manage good stuff. its seemed easier learning this way....Roland J Gutierrez
Correct me if I am wrong, but on the picking, are you saying 10-5, 5-5 looks like you are doing 10-5, 7-5 Listen to what you are saying as it is confusing
My friend you have to strum the six strings to get the riff right when the whole band is playing all the frequencies blend in then you will hear the bright rhythm sound
