Thank you so much for this very easy to understand video! The Translator Rollator is something I didn't know existed and is exactly what I was hoping to find for a family friend.
I like the last one that you showed. They gave my brother a basic strip down walker with rubber feet on the back and, this is awful for him. He is in congestive heart failure and, has stage 4 COPD and, needs to get some walking in to help get rid of some fluids he is retaining. I am surprised that the PT or OT people haven’t helped him get something better to help him with his mobility.

Thank you for this informative video. I need to start walking to, hopefully, improve my health. I have several health issues, combined spinal stenosis. I can walk short distances, but then need to sit for 5 minutes or so. Finding a place to sit is not easy in a mall, or outdoors. I think a heavy-duty rollator is what I need. Thanks once again!
Excellent presentation. Audio was inadequate. I watched on my Smartphone. I'm not aware of the audio adjustments on a desktop computer. It will be worth trying. Meanwhile, perhaps the presenter could wear a microphone. Anyone with moderate to severe hearing loss will be hard pressed to hear the very important information. This presentet spoke in easy to understand terms and emphasized important factors to consider. He is outstanding in that regard. Thank you!
Strip a medium size grocery cart ($160 online) of its basket and bottom shelf, add pipe insulation (Home Depot) to the handlebar and you have a very reliable and stable smooth surface walker/jogger. Only the stroller joggers come with all terrain large wheels.
Thanks for sharing this excellent overview video. I have an older rollator model which I never really used before. I am currently considering replacing it and your information is extremely helpful, appreciate your input ! !
I just received my upright walker last Monday. I've been on a rollator for the last 13 years - my back hurts more with the rollator n I can't use the hand brakes because of pain & neuropathy in my hands, I'm hoping to be more adjustable with the upright walker, but it takes getting use to
You can sometimes find really good deals online. The biggest defference is the weight in most cases. Some are steel and some are aluminum. Glad you found a great deal
I like the Lifestyles rollator (model Regal 850U) but you didn't demonstrate how it folds up. I have some balance issues sometimes and folding it and getting it into my vehicle is extremely important. Can you help me understand how it folds? Thank you.
Not a problem. There is a bar that lays flat under the seat. All you have to do is pull the bar up and the a frame of the rollator folds up. I hope this helps. Call us at 615-730-9438 if you have more questions. We will be glad to help.
With my severe back injuries, I am unable to place any of those devices inside a vehicle due to their weight. I own a 20 pound walker which is too heavy for me to do that maneuver. It would be helpful if you could also demonstrate the ultra lite walkers or rollators which weigh about 10 pounds. I think they are available in aluminum and microfiber material, or something like that. Otherwise, I enjoyed your presentation.
The carbon fiber ones are ridiculously expensive, however, I recommend the Stander EZ Fold N Go walker, which weighs 8 lbs and is super compact for travel and storage.

Thank you so much for making this video. I wasn't sure which waller or rollator to get for my son. He has arthritis really bad and is having a hard time getting around. I like the rollator wheelchair. Thank you again. I had no idea they had the rollator wheelchair. Very informative!
The very best walker for me is a shopping cart. I don't mean this as a joke. What I mean is that I am always anxious to get to the shopping carts because I want/need support for walking and standing. I liked the shopping cart better than ever when the shopping center sprayed the shopping carts to sanitize them between shoppers. I have a tendency to fall and pass out when I am out walking. Likely I'll have a stroke, a heart attack or just plain die soon.
Hi. I agree. I have found a shopping cart is what I like best. Especially with some weight in basket. Otherwise I use shopping cart ( small) with cane. Bilateral support. Again some weight needed in cart. I have nice 3vwheel rollator which I hardly use. I do miss a seat( only on 4 wheel I guess)
@@scores718 I can see the need for some weight. But the most difficult thing for me is having a cart that pulls strongly to the right or left and or has a wheel that just drags along. It's unnerving to others, but I try my best to find a cart that rolls straight ahead. I also try my best to keep to the side of the shopping aisles because some people just push others aside and I don't want to get knocked down. I have a really hard time getting back up. Courtesy and kindness is totally appreciated. I also try my best to social distance. Sometimes in the checkout lines, I keep my cart behind me so I'm not pressured by someone a foot behind me dumping stuff on the counter right at my back.

I wish my walker had a seat but mine doesn't...I have the first one because they said not to have more than two wheels under me at one time but a seat would b nice
Thank you for this video. A. Challenge we’ve been having is finding a walker for someone with Parkinson’s. Ideally, it’d be nice to have something where the wheels in front do swivel for easy turning, but a more fixed rear (with tennis balls) to eliminate need to have to pick-up the walker to turn. The 4-wheel walkers tends to be a little too zippy and has a way of getting away from the person too quickly, especially for someone with slowed motor skills. But perhaps a wheelchair would be the only next step? If you have any insight or recommendations/suggestions, that’d be much appreciated.
You might want to look into a U-Step 2 walker. Just found out about it, but it seems to be made to cater to Parkinson patients. A bit pricey compared to a lot of other types of walkers, but it may be worth it for your situation.
You probably found your walker by now, but I'll tell you about mine. It's a rollator, but only has the two wheels. Has a seat and back rest. Price was only $56.00. I also have the aluminum one for the car, because it is so light.

I was looking to replace just the handles with ones with the locking feature but can't seem to find them anywhere. Do you know where these can be obtained (Just the handles [and maybe cables])? I don’t know that drive sells them like that. You would have to make your own bracket at the bottom for the brake locks on the wheels. Your best bet is to just buy a new one. It would be cheaper

Would a basical walker be okay if im just looking to take stress off both my knees. I have a torn meniscus thats non surgically recovering and would like to not put all my weight on my good knee that ones starting to get sore 😨
If your medicare supplement insurance approves a certain amount of money for a rolling walker, can you take that and apply it toward a rollator of your choice?
The walkers are coded and the insurance companies have a set amount. A walker is E0143 and the seat attachment is E0156. The walker code pays around $50 and the seat is around $20.Your Primary insurance typically pays 80% and the supplemental pays 20%. You might find someone that will allow you to pay the difference but you would have to check with them. I hope this helps. Call us at 615-730-9438 if you need more help. Have a great day.

Most of the models are not balanced well enough to be pushed. We do have one that that is a hybrid version that works well. Take a look at the following link.

Here's a link to our walkers and rollators. We don't typically show prices as this video is for details and features on the mobility aids and will be on RUclips for a long time. We don't want someone to see this video 3 years from now and not have the right price. Thanks for watching, we really apprecitate the feedback. www.allstarmedicalllc.com/walkers/canes/crutches
Thank you so much for the video! Do you have any thoughts or advice on tray walkers? They have four wheels but instead of a seat they have utility trays on them. Are they as stable as the rollator? thanks so much
I would have to see what you are describing to make a comment. You could email us at allstarmedicalllc@gmail.com

Is there any advantage to a rollator (post tkr) if one lives alone and has no room to place a chair close to the counter so that food can be prepped?
Would a basical walker be okay if im just looking to take stress off both my knees. I have a torn meniscus thats non surgically recovering and would like to not put all my weight on my good knee that ones starting to get sore 😨
Check with your therapy but a basic walker should be fine

If your medicare supplement insurance approves a certain amount of money for a rolling walker, can you take that and apply it toward a rollator of your choice?
The walkers are coded and the insurance companies have a set amount. A walker is E0143 and the seat attachment is E0156. The walker code pays around $50 and the seat is around $20.Your Primary insurance typically pays 80% and the supplemental pays 20%. You might find someone that will allow you to pay the difference but you would have to check with them. I hope this helps. Call us at 615-730-9438 if you need more help. Have a great day.
