We'll all be cenobites one day. Technology and culture will change, from our current standpoint that one day, if we were to have a time machine to view it, will seem horrific and yet our future transhuman selves may very well be quite happy and content with their situation. Look at dung beetles eating and rolling crap - some Egyptian reference to scarabs and the sun and anus there, Bataille must have written about that. What would a heaven for dung beetles look like, and what if you found yourself sent there by mistake upon dying, would you eventually get used to it given enough time, and at that point would you even be human anymore?

@@Xanaduum I think in Kenneth Grant's book Nightside of Eden he covers this regression to a pre human level. The 1st chapter goes into that idea of a larvae stage hinted at by Jung. The excel and reach Godhood/Exaltation, you need to be able to go backwards in time. You need to be able to flip love and hate, strength to weaknesses, joy to sorrow. This human box we have put ourselves in is a manufactured construction of our ego and fear that has to be overcome, no matter the cost or pain involved. You won't gain from that which you won't risk...

it may be partially the translation, but sometimes it seems like these french philosophers speak in assumptions as a first language. Each assumption building upon the previous. "Communication requires loyalty" - what? why? "... the knowledge of evil, [which] is the basis of intense communication" -- since when??? It's not so much that any one of these assumptions is necessarily false, but it's the unreasonable certainty with which they are used to formulate arguments.

I think the problem of reading Bataille, for some, is that he has no discernible ontology.
He clings to concepts like ‘excess’ and ‘limitation’ to erode the possibility of a discourse on the subject of say, eroticism, as ever being grounded, or ever found (he is here most near to the later Schelling, and Hegel).
As a result, one is lost in endless antinomies that eventually begin to collapse in on themselves, by contrast to the critical tradition which seeks or desires their grounding.
There’s a short text of his called Le Petit, where he forms the problematic of ‘broken categories’ to get across to the reader how this is not a Discourse, but an attempt to relay that constant inadequacy, - which is also where he begins to surmise the imagery that’s erotic as being tantamount to a futile endeavour, or a “malady” as Marguerite Duras would write elsewhere.
Your point is clear enough, but I think there are personal stakes involved in Bataille’s work which does not make his theories random nor even axiomatic, - since he is being intensely weird in writing about the erotic as a telos but constantly admitting to the reader the uselessness of such a project. And I think it’s rare to actually find a philosopher like that. One thinks of Blanchot, Duras (The Malady of Death), Louis Aragon (Irene’s Cunt), Céline, Trakl, Rilke…

    • @andreasjohansson610
      @andreasjohansson610 Год назад

@@freddie2119 He theorized about strategies to break down societal norms to bring in the (marxist) revolution. Then he wrote litterature that would help to accomplish just that. Inspired by Nietzsche and de Sade. He was an alcoholic and commited to depraved sexual practices. He even writes about masturbating in front of his dead mother. And you insist to make some kind of metaphysics from that? Unbelievable! Did you pay for your "education". The thing you write is a perfect imitation of what leftist actvist in academia been writing for four decades just to get money from state run univercities. It's called "deconstruction".

Some of these existential philosophers use hundreds of thousands of words to express what can basically be summed up with several combinations of two words:“Humanity sucks”

    etc….

It's not about using "a couple of words", but rather, it is the very movement of thought itself; the voyage upon inexhaustible spirals of infinity, of motion, giving rise; or in this case, sinking (-- pathetically indeed) to that which IS.
Few there are who truly grasp the light of the Sun. Most seekers grope about blindly in darkness, and are lost.
Those who would become an adept of darkness, must draw others into their darkness. A warning.
      Peace to you.

Fiction's uninteresting without evil, so fiction is evil? Isn't this what's sometimes known as 'shooting the messenger'? Just because there are Nazis in 'Casablanca' doesn't mean 'Casablanca' is pro-Nazi.
Where I might get on board with the idea is thinking about 'Blue Velvet'. It's like a Hardy Boys mystery made real: the young protagonist pursues the mystery he finds in his home town with prurient glee. 'You like mysteries all that much?' says his appalled girlfriend. 'Yeah!' Ultimately this leads him into voyeurism of sexual violence - in which we, the audience also participate - and then actual participation in that violence. It all gets a bit much and he hurries back to picket-fence normality, but Lynch's point is made: the reader or viewer of the story doesn't just want to see evil to see it punished or condemned, but out of ghoulish fascination and even sadism.

There is something incredibly disturbing, borderline unbearable, in the experience of these creatures that remain so infantile and parts fixated. Forest and trees, you do some black box testing and create a model of their mind, really trace it all out, and find a sort of sort of corruption fetish. Anus this, shaft that, life is poop that poops itself and eats poop and so the sun is the biggest pooper of all, blah blah blah. Every day with these people.

Just as many, if not more NPC's avoided it. I'm not a fan of the shots, but maybe you should get out more? Vaccine avoidance is not a barometer for being a rebel or an independent thinker. Most reasonable people tend to trust something that the majority of scientists promote over prayer, healing crystals, etc.

@@KaliFleshIt's counterproductive to the goal of making the world a peaceful, free, safe place. I understand that lucifericism on the negative polarity is necessary for the existence of a positive polarity in the first place, but why not be luciferian in the positive polarity if you feel like there is too much Ahrimanic inertia. All I'm saying is that the pendulum swing of polarity ought to remain in an equal balance from bad to good to maximise novelty.
