As an owner of 23 rental houses. And do multiple outdoor freezeless faucet . This is an often overlooked step. Many handymen or plumber don’t do it either . Even though they will dress the bathroom or kitchen faucet . The just crank the handle more and then end up coming back every year for leaking outdoor faucet 🙃. Thank you for doing this video .
Really convenient that the seat resurfacing bit is theaded 3/8" UNC. Don't let anyone find out or they will definitely cut new patented pitch/TPI left-hand threads to make sure this isn't that easy... Also I'm surprised you didn't recommend using a backing nut/washer to lock the bit in place on the rod. Does it work like an overload and start spinning if too much pressure is applied? If it dug in and gouged the brass, would the tool just spin instead of damaging the seat?
I just changed the washer on frost free older version and it still leaks. This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank You. I'd be paranoid though that the grinder isn't parellel with the seat because there is so much slop when turning the rod. Did you consider a way to put a washer or a cap with a slightly larger than 3/8" hole in it to center the rod?
Hey the rod for my frost free faucet outside has come off the valve in the back. I got the valve free, but how can I extract the rest of the valve from the fitting so I can replace the inside?
I just can’t get this to work. I bought a 3/8 inch threaded rod, but ANY faucet reseating tools that I can find have cutters threaded for 1/4 inch. This is because those available tools start at 3/8 inch, but step down to 1/4 inch where the cutter threads on. Where do I find cutters threaded for 3/8 inch? Please let me know because, although this is a good idea, I can’t make it work with the products available to me.
Great ingenuity
Good suggestion. I will give it a try. Thanks.

Just picked up the Lowe’s Kobalt version yesterday, it’s sadly now $11.98, the piece of rod cost me another $2.38, so it’s still under $15 total

The kit comes with spacers (if they fit the rod.
Awesome idea

Does the cutter size need to match the washer size? Having trouble finding a 00...
Slightly bigger is fine
Slightly bigger is fine
3/8" rod too big for my 1/4" cutters. Ordered 1/4" now.
That isn't a flashlight. Everybody depends on their phones.
