I've just now begun to enjoy the intentional delaying of gratification in the sphere of hobbies. It is proving to be highly satisfying and can be its own reward. Books, yarn, knitting tools, sewingg, cross stitch, cookware -- so much money spent, and I will die before it all gets used or read (I'm 55). Wish I'd learned this at your age, but better late than never. Great tips!
Now that a few months have passed since doing this challenge, I will say it was worth it and changed a few habits of mine :) But also, some people love having a large TBR! It's all relative.

that's amazing! yes, delayed gratification is so much easier said than done. thanks for watching :)
I'm doing a low buy of just one book a month. I would never stick to a full out ban because I buy a few each month. So I plan to cut down gradually.
That's a great solution! full on book buying bans aren't for everyone so you have to find what works for you! good luck!
Very interesting! Awesome strategies and suggestions for alternate strategies for individuals to customize for their own needs! 🙂
How to spend less money on books:
Get a library card. Use the library's app. Never have to go to library.
facts.
Read two, buy one seems like a great idea! I'm going to test that.
yas! please do!
I'm super confused what is a book buying ban. What is it?
A book buying ban is when you ban yourself from buying any books for a period of time. Normally self-inflicted 😂
@storiesandsadhbh4673 thank you so much! Now it's clear!
looking at my physical tbr, i think i need a book buying ban :/
