Hello Nicole. Just before I watched this video I watched a video from Japan where someone was eating a banana flower for the first time. It was very informative. I never knew they were edible even though we grew them in our back yard when I was a child. You are so right about not needing much money to eat well. I grew up in a working class suburb in Queensland Australia. Even though it was just a suburban block we had everything. We had chickens ducks fruits and vegetables. My father was a good provider and we never went hungry. We grew bananas watermelons, lemon, chokos, strawberries, tomatoes ,beans, gooseberries and many other things. We ate the older hens on special occasions as there were no frozen chickens in those days. your meals are always healthy.💖

You know I grew up in the country in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and I have seen so many banana plants all over even in our house it was so many acres of land and so many different fruits but I have never seen such a huge banana tree it most of be the soil because they look like palm trees and I’m serious and even the bananas are huge that’s a Blessings, that’s so much for sharing part of your daily routine. God Bless the two of you and take care......much love from New Jersey USA 🇺🇸 ❤

It's common here in ASEAN country to eat banana blossom. Where I'm from (Malaysia), the most popular dish using banana blossom is called "masak lemak jantung pisang". But I'm not sure if youtube has the recipe.😅

When I saw the cutting down of the banana flowers I thought you were destroying the beginning of future bunches of banana: I couldn't believe what I was seeing. However, I have learned that the blossoms can be put to good use. I live in a tropical country in Central America, where we grow and export bananas. Please tell us how the banana suckling bloom is used in the Philippines.
