People never bring up the Serpent’s Pass when discussing Kataang. One of my favorite two moments in the series are when Aang and Katara are out in the moonlight and Aang refuses the hug, and later when Aang regains his hope and accepts the hug and Katara has tears in her eyes. She really did care about Aang and relationship stuff isn’t always just romantic.
I feel like the Serpent's pass scenes were some of Kataangs most romantic! Romance for me is so much more than making out with your partner. It's being there for them in they're hardest moments and that's exactly what Katara has done, Aang enters the Avatar state because of sandbenders? Who's there? Katara! Aang's telling everyone's he's fine but he's really not? Who's trying to give him a hug? Katara! Aang is there for Katara's hardest moments too! When She wishes to seek revenge for the man who killed his mother Aang gives her one of the wisest quotes of the whole series "No, it's not. It's easy to do nothing, but it's hard to forgive." He knows how Katara is about to make a mistake she would regret for years, He even tried sympathizing with her and talking to her about how the genocide was hard on him. Katara and Aang have always supported eachother and I view that bond as something more impactful and more romantic than their kiss, The serpents pass scene is REALLY one of their most romantic scenes in the show. Thats why I put it in my edit. Because Katara's Glad he came back.
@@Boomer_Aang The biggest issue with Kataang is that there are more numerous and more blatant instances of the ship being superficial and poorly written. I’m mainly referring to scenes between the two in book 1. The ship is also fairly one sided for most of its existence,but I mainly blame that on the inconsistencies in writing and presentation. It is FAR from perfect,but the writers mostly made it work.
Why does nobody ever talk about the second season's first episode? Bro literally went "So you have chosen death" mode when he thought she just got killed!
