I'm from the nearby island of Antigua. I see some of these planes make conventional approaches and landing every day. No big deal. But your footage shows what they do after they leave here! That's some scary landings! Thanks for taking the time to film this and share.
Great video, everyone. It makes me feel like short field landing isn't as difficult as it seems, and that being responsible and following aircraft procedures to a safe landing is the key, and the most incredible experience anywhere one wants to land.
I always wondered why you never see a landing from the other end of the runway. Great video, especially like the split view, from snide and out. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you, it is unfortunately a year before I go on vacation again on St Maarten :-) Of course I want a trip to St. Barth again, so there will be more videos to come!
i downloaded your stunning footage at Princess Juliana Airport #1 ~7 and St Barth for sharing with my family and friends. your videos are simply the best! thanks !
I wish you would show just a bit long on each landing. I like to see if they are able to pull off at the second taxiway. That's one mark of an excellent landing at St Bart's in my book.
***** u got to realize travel in the Caribbean is ridiculously high you know, the Flight from St. Kitts to St Maarten alone is a arm and a leg and u got to pay for that extra leg of flights to those islands, plus accommodation and other stuff....
check out the windsock at 1:37 - straight onto the nose of the aircraft = good !check out the windsock at 1:51 - crosswind - not good ! only 14 seconds later !you really have to have some amazing skills to land / take off at St. Barts...if you love this video you should get:1. a good computer with a top class graphics card2. Flight Simulator Ten (FSX)3. the payware airport add-on for St. Barts and Princess Juliana4. a good HOTAS throttle and joystick combodo those 4 little things and you too will be doing those brilliant landings (after a little practice)
Love how the twin otter takes a steep slow graceful approach with the nose down 20 degrees. You need to know your plane very well to do this landing. so planes just cant do it.
Sometimes I wonder how smart some people are. The Engineer that built this runway 10 are marginalizing everyone safety. There are several possible safety enhancements. One relocate the runway somewhere else on the island. Build a extension out into the sea. Remove some earth around the end of the runway relocating buildings and helping those poor souls that do have kidneys not to wet themselves. hum...if this isn't a Black Star 5 it should be a Black Star 20!
What kind of world do you live in that no skills should be required? Professional pilots are paid to do a challenging task well, and they do it every day all day. Glad the armchair engineers are just YT commenters.
I think they should remove the hill down to the runway elevation. Than add a bridge at the current crest of the hill elevation for the existing road traffic to not be interrupted…. Removing a wide segment of the hill than adding the bridge would creat a tunnel for the approaching aircraft to fly thru - under.. Thus create even more spectacular video for the camera as the photographer sands on the bridge videoing head on the approaching aircraft than allowing the camera person to film the aircraft as it flying under mim/her on standing on the bridge…...…….. Yes flying thru the tunnel would mostlikely cause a sudden loss of cross wind or perhaps a sudden increase of headwind due to the ventury affect and add even more spactacualr filming opertunities. However, a few static traffic style cameras could be added that record 24/7 and proove it was the pilot’s error - failuer to maintain seperation with the side walls of the tunnel or bridge it self and have the proof to blame it all on the pilots……….. I surely an NOT seriously suggesting the above...........................................
Right!? I'd hate to be the poor bastard standing on the road when that plane puts like 3 ft. between itself and the ground. Holy mackerel, these pilots got some badass _skills._
Blow up the hill. The Engineers who built this left no margin of error. The hill and road need to go. Flying to a Island should not feel like a carrier trap.
Those Twin Otters are impressive, turning off at the mid- field. Best aircraft flying!!!

Thank you..., your "hobby" show us two beautiful aspect..., the incredible condition to flight and paradise places..., awsome work, Kurt
Loved it!! I've always wanted to fly into St. Barths, maybe someday...
Great video, everyone.
It makes me feel like short field landing isn't as difficult as it seems, and that being responsible and following aircraft procedures to a safe landing is the key, and the most incredible experience anywhere one wants to land.
There needs to be an award for those who land and are able to turn off at the second ramp without having to turn around and back-taxi.
Wow! Very nice, thanks. Some of those flare outs were absolutely perfect. The rest were just absolutely great.
5:45 woow,I tought he gona nose slam the runaway...
Really amazing pilot skills in this video.
Landing here would definitely push me over the edge:O
Wonderful video. Thank you for posting.
Thank you!
I always wondered why you never see a landing from the other end of the runway. Great video, especially like the split view, from snide and out. Thanks for sharing !
RP: Because of the strong winds.
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing.
Twin Otters have props on the inside too!
Wonder if pilots ever hit their pinky finger , with that spinning fan accidently ! Great video btw :)
these pilots are the best!!
Men that's the best videos that I can see of St Barth..... continue upload this videos :D regards From Colombia.
Thank you, it is unfortunately a year before I go on vacation again on St Maarten :-)
Of course I want a trip to St. Barth again, so there will be more videos to come!
Fantastic video!
I am like it your video and amazing plane Land and takeoff 🛫 both
Wow... that jock at 2:51 could wash windshields and cut grass on his low approach!
Plot twist: The prop sound you are hearing actually is coming from the overhead electric fan as it seems.
I wonder how many fingers have been chopped off by those fans
amazing!! they are all nice
Perfect glide slope for a gyroplane!
LOL, that's a fact.
Booked my trip I'll be there soon !!
i downloaded your stunning footage at Princess Juliana Airport #1 ~7 and St Barth for sharing with my family and friends. your videos are simply the best! thanks !
ching hsi Many thanks for your great feedback, Enjoy the videos :-)
cool vid!!
Very nice set of videos!
Thanks
love seeing canadian planes
great footage !!!
Thank You
Best movie!
Booked my trip I'll be soon !
Splendid video! Would like to test landing there myself, but only in a C150 for starters.
panduro thanks for the video very good I like it
I have a lot of Twin Otter time....I would love to land there..over and over!!
Strange ergonomic design having the high speed open bladed fan so close to the throttle that way! LOL
Don't think this is an ex-factory option ...
I wish you would show just a bit long on each landing. I like to see if they are able to pull off at the second taxiway. That's one mark of an excellent landing at St Bart's in my book.
Fantastic video mate! Liked!
Thanks!
Great video!
+Spencer Maze Thank you!
I assume that there is always a trade wind headwind, which is a good thing.
sweet video !!!! St Barth is so close to me and i have never been there lol
SKBenergy Go down there. U been Statia n Saba?
***** u got to realize travel in the Caribbean is ridiculously high you know, the Flight from St. Kitts to St Maarten alone is a arm and a leg and u got to pay for that extra leg of flights to those islands, plus accommodation and other stuff....
SKBenergy Well u know there is a boat. U know sailing? Besides some of the people in your islands are pirates lol
***** don't make sense lol
SKBenergy lol go by the hotel n rent a lil sailboat
Nice one!

Fantastic pictures again Kurt (y)
Thanks

Landing is the most exciting part of the trip. :)
awsome video mate kkep it up
+Sam b Thank You
Lol.. 2:55 the pedestrian ducking down to avoid a landing gear shot to the head.
can someone tell me what is the NW STEER lever for/do ?
I wonder how surprised some drivers are to be at the hilltop, and have a big, noisy twin engine plane miss their roof by about 20 feet !
Twin Otters and BN-2 Islander Rule this place
Este video esta super que miedo pero emocionante
Ivan Gomez A. Gracias :-)
I just went and flew in on a PC12. I was prepared for rollercoaster landing but the pilot greased it on. Maybe next time.
Sometimes I wonder how smart some people are. The Engineer that built this runway 10 are marginalizing everyone safety. There are several possible safety enhancements. From what i remember, it's the flattest bit on the Island. Take-off is a breeze by comparison
What kind of world do you live in that no skills should be required? Professional pilots are paid to do a challenging task well, and they do it every day all day. Glad the armchair engineers are just YT commenters.
What I don’t understand is why they can’t just modify some rules to allow the pilots to come in from the bay.
The wind usually blows from the East. Please go have a look at the map.
4:40 super touchdown
wow. windy.
Calvin Smith Yes :-)
Susi Air on this side of the World Oh my!
why dont they just pave the little hillside?
The video is good but the cut is too short, I miss the final reverses action of the engines, very present at this runaway...
Whats the second aircraft?
kinda like a carrier landing ..with out the hook
At least it's got 100 ft. or so of ocean beneath it before it hits the deck. That hill treads a fine line between glide slope and _ski_ slope.
This Twin Otter was destroyed last year, With everyone at bort?
I think a few of those could of landed on a carrier!..
That runway could use arresting wire.
10:09 The hill doesn't look nearly as bad from that angle. They could've blasted that sucker down to sea level easily.
Can't believe how close the planes come to cars and motorbikes...anyone been taken out?
at 8.35 ...is the best landing...all are good landing but 8.35 is the best
theneptune2011 Yes, nice landing :-)
The Britten Norman "Islanders" seem to try and go for the numbers every time to give themselves as much room as possible to stop.
I think they should remove the hill down to the runway elevation. Than add a bridge at the current crest of the hill elevation for the existing road traffic to not be interrupted….

2:55😱
Right!? I'd hate to be the poor bastard standing on the road when that plane puts like 3 ft. between itself and the ground. Holy mackerel, these pilots got some badass _skills._
2:56 i think that guy his pants are also -WED.
Do you get extra points for turning off at Charlie?!
I hope those wheel marks running down the slope on the grass are made from the lawn mower...
Could do a little earth moving and make the approach much safer. Would not be that big of a deal.
I would кill engineer who designed engine throttle on the overhead panel ))))
These pilots are so dam good I actually got bored watching them do their magic before the end of the video….
2:56 holy shit that was close!
Almost a headache
You cut too early... wanna see roll out!
Flying in and out of a bunch of PNG, WP bush strips with Disco John in a twin Otter was pretty much as bad as this.
+steveo1kinevo, u ever landed at St. Barth? Looks tricky.
Islanders are the sketchiest, Twin Otters own that runway. PC-12's and Caravans in between.
I don't want to fly into St Bart's that bad. All landings looked like cross wind landings
500...stable :-)
Here's the birth of Boeing 707,717,727,737,747,757,767,777,787.
Trying to think if can land a CRJ-200, Cessna Citation X or even ATR-42
10:28 Pilot using his turn signal?
Here, hold my beer.......
they shouldn't let trucks like the one u see in 4:01 drive on that road, there is a high chance of a crash
5:06, perfect stall landing.
somebody get rid of that stop sign!
great content, but the transitions are too much...
Real seat of ur pants stuff @2:55
