Tyra contradicts herself. So Naomi sabotaged her career yet she received a list of designers that won't use her b.c she started gaining weight. So who or what was it, Naomi or designers or her weight. It's always someone or something to blame for Tyra not making it in high fashion industry. The interview between her and tyra didn't clear it up since tyra had nothing new to say about "feud" or her career was harmed except that's part of what models go through.
it was definitely a combination of both. in Tyra's early stages of her career she was still relatively skinny. Stop gaslighting peoples experiences. there are people in the industry who clearly attest to this. also, Naomi even though very reluctantly apologized to Tyra on the Tyra show. IF Tyra was lying she wouldn't have apologized and cried. so stop it!!!!

The truth is, Naomi was a victim of tokenism. Tokens understand they are a token and, sometimes, try to keep it that way. Naomi was a token that tried to keep it that way, rather than embrace the new girl of the same ilk: Tyra. It sounds like she has now come full circle, and realized the error of her ways, but the damage was done with her and Tyra.
On some level, I feel sorry for Naomi. She was attempting to survive in her white-washed industry. I wish she had the presence of mind at the time to not give in to the tokenism that blacks have to deal with and embrace Tyra and others like her.
