For some reason, as soon as the woman said "It's hungry sir!" I started thinking of ravioli. And there it was, a commercial I hadn't seen in 20+ years all rushed back to me.
Man, I remember most of these commercials from childhood. My favorite was absolutely the Smash Bros 64 one! I still remember that one vividly. It caught me off guard when I first saw it and I knew I had to get it. The idea of Nintendo characters fighting other Nintendo characters was _brilliant_ !! It is funny to see how big Smash Bros has become like more than twenty years later. Apparently, Smash Bros. was a side project Sakurai started on his own during his off-hours, but it was originally planned to feature generic fighters and not Nintendo characters. Also, I think Peebs is secretly Master Hand...
@@gamefan6219 altho as a kid watching that commercial I’ve imagine the parents coming into the bedroom and telling the kids “ we’re not going to Disney land”
The blockbuster one was the first that made me laugh. I remember blockbuster from constantly renting weird unknown animated kids' movies from there. The animated Nutty Professor... Goldilocks and the Three Bears, except she's doing a celebrity makeover of their house... probably some Barbie movies, too. They had weird stuff there. I don't remember renting games, though, just movies. But I was super tiny, so maybe we did and I just don't remember.
The fact I remember all of these was amazing...and really sad. Just goes to show for all the polish that TV has now I can't remember 99% of the commercials I have seen in the last 6 years. Thanks for the video but now I remember the start of the 90s was 32 years ago and feel really really old.
That commercial of the kids dragging the suitcase up the stairs to pack to go to Disney was on our VHS copy of The Lion King. I have seen it so many times I used to be able to quote it word-for-word
Dear lord, it’s coming back to me now. I was an easily scared kid, yet I saw that very Slim Jim commercial all the time and didn’t even bat an eye over how that Slim Jim man cut a whole through that kid’s stomach!! I was a BIZARRE kid.
Smash 64 commercial: Nintendo characters beatin each other with cartoon sound effects and happy music Smash Ultimate commercial: Mario and Link indoctrinate Inkling into the cult of smash before the giant flaming smash ball
I vividly remember that Disney World commercial, it was at the start of a Disney VHS tape I watched all the time as a kid. The older brother saying "Goofy could beat up dad!" genuinely made me not want to go to Disneyland out of fear that my family would be jumped by Goofy 😅
I love these weird commercial reaction videos, the 90s were weird lmao. On a completely unrelated note, did you hear that Arthur came to an end today PBG? Just curious
3:12 this commercial was on one of our old Disney vhs tapes and because of stupid human brains I can remember the entire commercial and recite it from memory.
I remembered far too many of those commercials. Oddly enough I didn't remember ever seeing one of my favorites from this video. It was the saga one at 3:56. Saga had some good commercial writers. My all time favorite commercial is probably the Saga game gear one where the kid playing Gameboy hits himself in the head with a dead squirrel so he can see colors while he was playing but it turns out you don't have to do that with a Saga game gear since it is already in color.
9:50 I'm going to guess it's some sort of food commercial, considering the line "it's hungry", and they mention school, so it's something school themed. Maybe Lunchables?
I was actually one of the few people who saw the Smash Bros. 64 commercial sometime AFTER I bought it (needless to say I completely cracked up in disbelief at what I was seeing when I finally DID see it while watching TV at a hotel), I remember going into a store where my mom said I could pick one game that me and my brothers agreed on and we saw THAT just sitting there. Seeing Pikachu and Mario going at it while DK bashed Samus in the background was just something that really caught us completely off guard and it looked too intriguing to pass up despite the fact that we had played almost no fighting games at the time (let alone were good at any we did play). Who would have thought that years later "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" would become my favorite game of all time?!
When I was little, I used to have a clock that played the Meow Mix jingle on the hour. I even put a chair in front of it and would literally just sit there and wait for it to go off.
This whole video fkd my ‘94-ass UP. I remembered these in such an intimate way; especially that Disney World one. I’ve always had a fascination with suitcases and I legit think it had to do with that...
For the record, it is a parody. It's from a RUclips short film from 2015 called "Every 90's Commercial Ever." It starts off fine, and then gets really gross... really fast. I know you might be tempted to now look it up, but I'm telling you, you'll be glad if you avoided it. You won't better your life by watching it. It's jacked up.
I visited the channel again after a while and saw I was half way thru and so I clicked again and the first thing that happened was him shouting “I HAVE EATEN SLIM JIMS BEFORE!!!”
Funny fact. My copy of both Paper Mario TTYD and Mario Sunshine were both rentals from Blockbuster, the store closed without warning and I still have them today
That’s why you’re not allowed to eat before surgery. Cuz slim Jim will get high af in your stomach, trio balls, then burrow his way out of your stomach. At least you’re already in surgery
8:24 I had to have my appendix out in 2018, and the staff was adamant about not consuming anything whatsoever before surgery. I wasn't even allowed water. I know the reason behind this is because intubation under anesthesia can cause vomiting. But all I could think about at the time was that old Slim Jim commercial.
The Super Smash Bros. trailer gives you the impression that a whole Civil War was started among the Nintendo characters. That was our Infinity War ambitious crossover of the 90s.
I actually worked on that Punch Gushers commercial. I sculpted several of the heads (the blueberry and the banana.) There was also a coconut and a cactus for another commercial. Back when things were still partially done practically.
Ok, here's my thing. (Kudos to anyone who gets the Lara Means reference, which is also very 90s. If you know, you know). 1) I remember every single one of these commercials. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. 2) I never realized until now how much nightmare fuel some of these were. Especially the last one.
That crash bandicoot commercial reminded me of the, ty the tasmanian tiger commercial. The one where sonic and crash are in hospital beds covered in bandages. They dont make commercials like they used to
How many of these do YOU remember?
These reaction videos are super fun to make! Hope you guys enjoy them too.

Next time on Peebs: "I got a Cease and Desist from Chadtronic"
I didn't even stop to think about the irony of a Titanic-based cruise sweepstakes... Thanks Peebs!

I was thinking lunchables >_
For some reason Pizza Bites, those bite sized pizza roll things, came to mind so I guessed those.
"I learned violence from video games!" We know, Peebs, we've all seen the Chaos Mario videos.
underrated commentt
At 3:55 I burst out laughing
The stuff PBG does is even weirder than the commercials themselves
I still unironically want a chia pet, but specifically the Bob Ross one
Oh, same.
I always found it adorable that they showed the Bob Ross Chia Pet's seeds being sewn with a paintbrush, it's such a good little unacknowledged detail

I swear it was Iwata who suggested using Nintendo characters when presenting the game to the higher-ups.
The freaking disney world commercial unlocked a core memory! I'm trying to remember which vhs tape it was on.

The Disney World commercial with the two brothers? I remember that one. It was so cute!
