Interestingly enough, Indonesian cuisine mostly slow cooked so having time restriction is just like a nightmare.. 🤣🤣
When talking about Indonesian food, it definitely shows the richness of spices, because Indonesia is commonly know as the world's spice center and yeahh..

Indonesian food looks so simple but tastes amazingly good,
I am a chef, I think Indonesian food looks simple but when cooking you have to add a lot of spices, the wrong spices can make a strange taste
You should try cooking rendang because it takes a long time😂
While I appreciate you using Indonesian cuisine as a challenge, is better IF you invite Indonesian chef also as a guest judge to get full knowledge about the food. You in Bali, I don’t think is hard to get one.

This whole thing is a joke. You get white guys to judge asian food. WTF do they know about how asian food should taste. Where are the Indonesian chefs to judge Indonesian food?
100%. Then again we see this all over the world. White people judging all sort of foods and they get to decide whether a dim sum place in Hong Kong deserves a Michelin star or doesnt. Whether a chicken rice deserves a star or doesnt in Singapore. Etc.

Isn't it because of team challenge? Not everyday they're in pairs right? I don't watch MC New Zealand so I'm just guessing

Cuz chefs can work together sometimes and I guess they want them to learn about teamwork. They don't always do this and the other Masterchefs put them in pairs sometimes as well

Kalian tak bisa memberi batas waktu dalam mengolah makanan indonesia..karena waktu adalah elemen terpenting dari pengolahan makanan indo.
Sebenernya bisa, masak nasi kuning+bumbunya paling cuma 10 menit abis itu tunggu mqteng, sate 20 menit, saus kacang 15 menit, pepes 20 menit, kari ayam 20 menit, menurutku waktu 75-100 menit cukup buat hidangan yang ada di video ini.
@@wawan1634 diatas kertas iya, tp bayangin bule yg masih pegang resep dikasih waktu segitu..gak yakin bener masaknya. Dari cara masak satenya aja keliatan itu dagingnya gak mateng sempurna karena gak dibolak balik,.(lebih banyak didieminnya),.yg ribet dari masakan indo itu prep timenya yg makan waktu lama dan butuh skill juga pengalaman. Jadi challenge buat masak masakan indo itu susah kalo lu gak pernah masak masakan indo sebelumnya, apalagi dikasih batasan waktu..
@@Shirokuma15 gw sering masak masakan Indonesia, dan untuk dish yg di video ini menurutku gampang, bahkan bumbu dari nasi, kari, dan sate itu mirip juga cuma nambahin beberapa rempah doang. Iyu klo ada 3 kompor bisa bikin beberapa dish dlm waktu segitu.
@@wawan1634 ya karena lu biasa, situasinya coba dibalik, lu disuruh masak masakan ghana misalnya yg lu gak pernah denger kek Tuo Zaafi misalnya..cuma dibekalin resep doang, ya keder kan,.lu gak tau berapa lama harus masak, rasanya kek apa, mateng apa belumnya..itu lho masalahnya.

I honestly thought this was a parody video. Everyone was dirty and everything looks so cheap compared to any other MasterChef video I saw before.
You know it's like that reality show here has a little bit of reality left in it unlike the other iterations of the show where everything is scripted and polished to perfection
This is a challenge outside, normally MasterChef New Zealand is in an indoor area. Look up MasterChef New Zealand, you’ll see that it’s a professional kitchen.
