I love this movie so much! This is where Christina really got to show off her behind the scenes music prowess, she was the executive producer for the soundtrack. Just a great all around musician.
This movie is what got me interested in performing arts and music, and completely turned me onto Chers music. The whole thing is fantastic in my opinion. Really didn’t expect you guys to cover it
As you should ! Music can break us but can also lift us 🙏🏼💪🏽 Any time I’d go through something traumatic in my life .. I’d right a poem or a song and I’d sing my little heart out I felt that
the fact that you have never heard of cher is beyond insane. she is literally one of the most famous singers in the world. her career spans SIX DECADES. she has sold over 100 million records and she has won an oscar, an emmy, three golden globes, and a grammy. what kind of rock do you live under 😭😭
This movie is straight up in my Top 10 All-time Favorite Movies Ever! Hell yeah she's one the Top 10 Greatest Female Singers Ever. She's also My All-time Favorite.
Christina is most definitely a legend. She's right there with Etta, Aretha, Billy, Whitney... Gifted. I love this movie, loved the story, loved the music, the cast was perfect. My daughter and I watched this movie together when she was in her late teens, and it's always been a thing between us since. We love this movie and value the memories shared. I'm getting mushy and wordy now, I'll shush in a second. Love y'all reactions. I only just found your channel a couple of days ago and I like y'alls vibe, y'alls energy. Thank you. You have to do me a favor (well, you really don't have to, but I'd love it if you did). If you watch Grease, you have to- I mean I would love it if you guys would check out Grease 2. It's basically the movie that put Michelle Phiefer on the map.
Both of you, your energy is so infectious and I love how you compliment each other. Thank you girl for submitting this movie.. I am a fan of Christina since middle school and she never gave anything but quality. I like how the guy felt the music overall and I thank you both for your reaction! ❤❤❤
Hairspray is a definite must. Grease is a classic for many reasons and one of my personal favorites. Other great musical movies are Newsies, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little shop of Horrors, Moulin Rouge, Greatest Showman and Chicago just off the top of my head. I could probably go on forever 😁.
Since you're a newbie to burlesque, you should probably hit Moulin Rouge movie next...the real Moulin Rouge in Paris is one of the most famous burlesque halls in the world...the movie stars Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, John Leguizamo, etc...great movie, musical & dance numbers...and then there's The Greatest Showman, based around circus performers, but very burlesque-like...starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya, etc...but one of my favorite movies of all time is The Rose starring Bette Midler, loosely based on the life of & emulated after Janis Joplin...incredible musical numbers
@@ShaniceXO26 Lol Yeahhhhh no he IS a dick in most roles he plays, including that one. You've just got rose-tinted glasses on since you've got the hots for him lol.
Musicals = The Cotton club, Hairspray, The Wiz, Chicago, DreamGirls, Mamma Mia, Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd. These are just a few if you havent seen them. I love musicals so ive seen almost all of them lol.
This is one of my top comfort movies aside from Pride and Prejudice! The lighting and soft film grain over everything is so dreamy and it's just such a good watch every time 😍
I stumbled into watching this movie because I went to my local library and I didn’t know you could borrow dvds from there and I found Burlesque and borrowed it and never regretted it!… I also how I watched the movie “Tootisie” where Dustin Hoffman is in drag back in 1982 which I also recommend
If you want a underrated classic musical PLEASE give Cinderella (1997) with Whitney Houston and Brandy a chance. It's a fantastic movie. The cast is incredible. The music is magic. Even the customs and set are on point. If you haven't seen it I guarantee you won't be disappointed. It's truly underrated and underappreciated. It deserves more shine and I also think Mrs. Flicks would enjoy it. Thanks for the laughs 💗
he needs to watch the entire greys anatomy series, because "marcus" plays Mark in it and he deffinetly grows on you in that series. Hes such a great actor
Christina has a beautiful voice. Truly, it's phenomenal. But she always sounds like she's working so hard for it. She sings like she's lifting weights with her vocal chords.
My favorite music movie it was always between this and momma Mia they can all sing but the movie mostly focuses on Cher and Christina Aguilera and you should see grays anatomy Eric Dane from euphoria (Marcus) played in there and he was my favorite also I love Cher so much she was my God moms fav singer and became mine because I listened to her with my God mom so much I found someone is my fav song by Cher as a artist outside of movies her actual music and Cher is my fav in the movie especially the you haven’t seen the last of me song it’s my favorite in the whole movie I like bond to you as well but because I just got of a bad relationship and still haven’t met my person I can’t listen to it without balling my eyes ❤
Yall should watch The Last Ship. The only reason I can bear to watch the actor who plays the dad in Euphoria and Marcus in this movie is because he was such an amazing guy in that series.
Omg I love this film I actually wanted to be a burlesque dancer at one point ❤❤. But you guys Def gotta see footloose but not the old I love the 2015 alot of good songs in that one & also some original 😊. But for vocals hairspray is a winner ! Such a good movie! Plz consider it 🤗☺️
I scrolled a bit, before saying this, but when she was singing "A Guy What Takes His Time," it's a song that was sung by Mae West, originally, in "She Done Him Wrong." She was the proto-Marilyn, back in the 20's and 30s, and that's why her hair is styled like that, and she's wearing all the pearls. Awesome woman. Just wanted to mention her, cuz you compared her to Marilyn in the scene, and it felt like a little bit of an injustice, cuz Mae West was a CHARACTER! And, yes, Burlesque shows tend to combine music, dance, and comedy skits. I went to see one in Reno, and they had a classroom skit, of a boy spelling "Mississippi," by saying, "First Emmie comes, then I come, then Essie comes twice, then I come, then Essie comes, twice, again, then I pee-pee, then I come, again." The comedy does tend to be pretty inappropriate.
The '98 Cats musical is very underrated. I think '01 Moulin Rouge is also very underrated and are 2 of my all time favorites, along with The Greatest Showman. Would enjoy a reaction to any of them!
Great video guys! You should have “Monday Musical Reactions” - Also make sure you add to your musical movie list Cabaret, Victor/Victoria, Funny Girl, etc. 👍
I used to wake up every morn in high school, do sit ups, attempt to do push ups, & then I would do the “Cupid Shuffle” twice & REALLY lean into every single move, esp the shuffle, & my legs would be on FIREEEE!
If you like musicals you should binge watch the tv show bombshell... amazing. It has alot of Broadway singers/actors in it and Katharine McPhee whom was on American Idol. Only 2 seasons though.
Oh em gee!! Did this man just say he didn't know who Cher is?????? And a day before pride month???? Lmao... ( no not the mask with Jim Carey) That's it where do I subscribe to be a patron I gotta write a whole list of Cher movies for you, you gonna learn today!!! Lol, Let me calm down and watch this video lol😂😂😂
Top 10 vocalists for me? Off the top of my head, Christina is in the upper tier of having some pipes. However, so is a lot of others. Ailee, Jonghyun (SHINee), Chappell Roan, Johnny Hawke (Nothing More), Freddie Mercury (Queen), Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, BoA, Hayley Williams (Paramore). Honestly, there are so mamy talented vocalists out there. How could one pick ten and stop there? My brain is still coming up with more as I type this, haha.
Watch Joyful Noise! Also, you probably hadn’t heard Bound to You, but You Lost Me was huge from her album Bionic that came out after this and they sound very similar.
This film has so many references to Cabaret. Some songs are almost shot for shot remakes with different music. The story isn't the same as this film at all though Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Matilda the musical, and so many more are just great
How can you live on planet earth and not know who Cher is?
Right? I feel bad for these babies. Cher has been a QUEEN for the last 6 decades.
RIGHT?
YEAH! LOL@@AlastorsShadowDemon
Look, I'm European - I knew Cher by name but not what she looked like. I heard impressions of her. This movie was the first time I actually saw her
I also don’t trust anyone who doesn’t know Cher. Believe is too good of a song and is too iconic for this disrespect 😂
HAHA, I’m curious, did you ever watch the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer? 😂
@@Evfollower no ☠️

Mileniansss ???? Where ? 😅
I agree, Cher is a musical icon and has had hit songs in every decade for the past 60 years. Show respect.
When Christina sung I got chills 🔥🔥🔥🔥😱😱 that’s how good this movie is
not knowing Cher is some DEEPLY insane behavior. like that’s the icon of all pop icons!

She always gives me chills! “Burlesque” & “Infatuation” are my FAV Christina songs!!!
Christina is the reason I started singing, lowkey
Whenever I go through a breakup I always end up playing DO YOU BELIEVE IN LIFE AFTER LOVE? ("Believe") by Cher and just cry a bit. Cher is amazing

Christina performed a lot of these songs live on award shows and talk shows in 2010
Christina is such a goddess in this movie ❤😍
Christina is my #1 vocalist and so is Usher! I enjoyed your reaction!

44:02 She is definitely up there for me. I really like Christina’s voice and what she is doing with it.
After this movie came out, the idea of being a burlesque dancer had a chokehold on my existence!
Christina has such a great voice! If you want to watch more musicals, i would recommend Chicago
Actually Eric Dane is a great guy. He doesn’t always play a d**k. He plays McSteamy in Greys Anatomy and he’s a gem ☺️
Um no? He's a massic D in that show too, especially how he treated that nurse who had a brief fling with McDreamy.

Eric played Phoebe Halliwell's love interest on the original Charmed. I thought they were good together. Good guy, also multi-rich
