Over the past few days, I've immersed myself in the heart of a rural Korean village, uncovering the daily life here with Donggeun’s family. Today marks our final episode in this enchanting area, where we delve into the creation of Korea's staple-Kimchi!
Before learning about what it takes to make real authentic Kimchi, we’ve got a busy day helping on the farm. We’ll be attempting to help with fertiliizing as well as packing chestnuts for delivery. Join us for an unforgettable close to our time in rural Korea, where we even get to visit an incredible old Korean Hanok.

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveller and RUclips creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveller, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on RUclips, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on RUclips.
I love Kimchi. I can eat it every day and at every meal. In Delhi, I get ready-made gochujang that is imported from South Korea and napa cabbage from the INA market and prepare kimchi with them at home. My wife learned the art of kimchi making watching RUclips videos on the subject. Thank you, Syifa Ma'am, for this beautiful video. On a serious note, kindly see to it that they have any job openings for chestnut farm aids/workers. Your next video is impatiently awaited.
I do too, love kimchi as it works really well as a staple rice dish. Thank you again for watching!
Years ago the World Health Organization compiled a list of the 10 healthiest foods. Kimchi and curry were both on the list:). Koreans love Indian food also.
A unique experience you get from this rural community, which you don't get in the glamorous Seoul.
Indeed, I agree with you! I am so glad that we had the privilege to stay with them and to capture this moment.
Thanks for a glimpse into Korean culture. The kimchi making was great…such an awesome tradition. Happy travels, Syifa.
Thank you so much, Kurt! I am so glad to hear that you enjoy watching this :)

Thank you so much for watching and for your positive feedback!
◁🏩
Yeah I agree! I think making a huge portion of kimchi for an entire year so that you can eat it on each meal is part of a very unique culture!
Thank you so much! I am so glad to hear that you enjoy watching this video from Korean's countryside. It's indeed one of our most wholesome travel experience :)
the Korean guys are cool and humbled
He was indeed :)
I agree with you! There's so much diversity in kimchi making. It was fascinating to observe this culture and it was one of my favorite travel experience. We actually ate together after making kimchi but didnt film it. I hope you still enjoy watching this video :)
I wait for this episode syifa. God bless!

Thank you so much for watching!
Hi Syifa, thank you, this was so interesting. I loved especially, seeing the 'hanok', where you had tea and cakes. In my head, I can 'transpose' the Korean music and dances I have experienced and recorded in Canada, into the courtyard of this beautiful building - magic! And the kimchi making took me back to my childhood in Austria and the making of a whole barrel-full of Sauerkraut every autumn, together with my brother and dad. There also, the Sauerkraut was made to be consumed over the whole year.
Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much, Diz! Hanok are incredibly beautiful. I can imagine making Sauerkraut would be incredibly memorable! It seems to be similar to kimchi making as each household would make it to be consumed over the whole year. Thanks so much for sharing this personal experience with me!

They store these amount of kimchi in a jar that looks like this: ozoutback.com.au/Korea/minsok/slides/2014052904.html Thanks a lot for always watching our video :)
As the technology of kimchi has developed, the storage method has also changed In the past, it was stored in a jar on the ground, but these days, there is a refrigerator that only stores kimchi This refrigerator is designed to store only kimchi, so you can eat it fresh for a long time Kimchi-only refrigerator is easy to see at home in Korea

When I'm in Korea, I buy one of those 1000won packets of kimchi sold at convenience stores and eat it every day, not only for the taste, if you don't eat it, the whole indoor spaces in the country smells like garlic breath.
Hahaha I can imagine the smells of garlic breath! That is so funny, thanks for cracking me up Tan!

Apparently a good trier but Syifa somehow does not come across as a natural. Not convinced by her.
Haha thanks, Marc! I am not trying to convince you to do anything. What are you trying to say by leaving this type of comment?
