The assumption is that the battery has received a full charge from the solar panel during the day. How long does the battery last to turn on the light?

One charge is enough for me to go to the kitchen or the bathroom. If you have to put it where it should be light all the time, then do not buy this flashlight, it is not designed to shine for long periods of time. The job of this flashlight is to light the way.

Well yours was working out of the box mine doesn't work, been on charge all day and still doesn't
guess that's the crap shoot that is buying Chinese rubbish for peanuts from sites like Aliexpress

Ha Ha sussed it out It doesn't turn on with the Solar panel or USB charger attached. However when it's dark and the solar panel output voltage drops below the threshold the light can then operate.
As per usual with this Chinese rubbish, some kind of instruction manual or free crystal ball would be helpful
