You really seem to be back to your old chirpy self, great content.
Whoever the club bring in, the club must keep Endo as a squad player. He was very good last season and contributed. Arsenal have Rice and Partey, City have Rodri and Kovecic, Chelsea have Caicedo and Lavia. We need to have that option on the bench as the new no. 6 can't play all the games, he could take time to adapt so it would be great if the club kept Endo as a pure destroyer for those tricky games when defending a 1 goal lead.
My Money is on Alan Varela! Press resistant, very good at playing out from the back, passes long, med, short range all in the high 90% percentile and is agressive defencivly. O and he knows MacAlister and has played with him in National team.
yea, i really hope we get him cause he bridges the gap between someone young who still needs to grow like bajectic and someone who is still effective but will need replacing soon like endo

Maybe not as popular as the rest, but I do believe Varela is what we need. Liverpool tend to scout and admire players who shine in teams that do well under the radar(Mane in Southampton, Diaz from Porto), similar to what Porto did in CL, but Zubimendi would be good too, he just doesn’t seem to have that extra bit of tenacity we might need if Macca plays a bit advanced in opposition half/third.
After seeing most of these guys play i think Varela is the stand out player imho, oddly has nothing to do with his defending (he can be a little rash) the reason i think Varela is the guy is down to how he plays out from the back, is very press resistant and rarly misses a pass. I think he is idea for a team that wants to play possesion football and build from the back. Don't forget he has played with MacAlister for his national team.
We should have gone for Varela when he was cheap. He does look perfect for us.
I think Varela works perfectly and zubamendi if he can put the tackles in that Fabinho (the legend) missed the season prior to last
Last season, Endo was the only one who was able to adapt to the role of DM, and it was difficult for Macca, Jones, and Szoboszlai to do the role, so it doesn't make sense to change the evaluation based on a mistake in just one preseason game.
Endo is good but the hunt for a DM is not abt Endo making mistake in one pre season, it's abt being able to play Slot system which requires a technical, dynamic player or playmaker number 6 good in possession, control the tempo, composure, press resistant, progressive passes that would find players in between the lines and Endo can't really offer most of those attributes, he's a good destroyer DM, not a technical/controller DM and Slot system want the later, that's the difference

Varela and Ederson are good calls, think suit what Slot wants in a pivot. Keep an eye on Stiller and Martel though.
Endo doesn’t have an issue passing and always looks forward, unlike lots of dms, and he is far better offensively than what we’ve seen Liverpool, so far. One thing he will never have is recovery pace, which in certain games will be important.
He will be a valuable asset over the season.
If he has time and space. He struggles under pressure tho and Slot seems to rely heavily on that double pivot to progress the ball in tight spaces

A lot of people seem to be in love with Zubimendi but I’d take Ederson over him any day. Ederson is electric & dominated our midfield & Leverkusen’s as well.

Endo is perfectly suited 4 the no6 role. Gutted, he's getting looked ova. We need two good wingers!! Not a no6, which we have players already able 2 play there!!
Gotta remember that the only time you're going to have a 6 with a very dense heatmap is because their side dominates the ball. Not necessarily a downside. Also, height is more than just aerial ability - their limbs are longer making them more easy to pressure/win the ball vs shorter players.
Regarding Kimmich, if you compare his defensive numbers to Trent over the past 4-5 seasons, you'll be shocked given the narratives about Trent.

Thanks to Curtis and Elton, Alan has been a tortoise's name since about 1988.
For me I have said to friends that if we kept our squad (got contracts renewed and such) that if we only got Ederson this summer would be a success for us. I hate on FSG as much as the next guy but we really picked up what turned out to be some of the best signings in the PL last summer and Ederson completes that. Also I say we keep Endo....we play a lot of matches and go deep in all tournaments so he will get his minutes.

Hjulmand is definitely the sleeper pick. Liga Portugal and Scandinavian. Both translate very well for Liverpool and the premier league in general and he was seriously impressive last season.
Funny feeling about Neves tho. Been linked with him since he was 17 so he's the type of transfer that makes sense for us.

Emerson seems like the most interesting option (if not most obvious for sure) but I would certainly be happy with Kimmich if that was feasible. That said, I'm probably more interested in which massive LEGO sets you have behind you! ;-)

I think that ship sailed with Klopp........ Ederson is a decent ball playing No6 but the fact Brazil wanted a ball playing No6 and went with Gomez from Wolves should set off alarm bells...... IMHO Varela is the man!! he does all the ball playing stuff Ederson does but he's a master at being available during the play out from the back, he is press resistant and has a high 90 persentile pass completion so is made for a high possesion team. Plus he will be sensible money and has played a fair bit with MacAlister already.
Id rather we give Bajetic game time if we can't get someone like Ederson or Zubimendi

Someone who no one is really talking about is Samuele Ricci from Torino, being targeted by RDZ because of his double pivot system and you can see why. An excellent passer who goes and wins the ball back with passion. I can see him and Trent easily just pinging balls all over the place.

What you said about getting away from "hey these players are Klopp players and they play in this position" is something I've been saying since Slot signed! We need to stop assuming we know players positions, and that they're first choice. That stands for transfers, too! Fan channels constantly assume, and I quote, "Know exactly what we need because it's obvious, so why aren't we signing them?" Yet you actually don't know. You know what Klopp's team needed because we were so used to the system.
We all need to just let Slot build his team carefully and figure out who he needs and where, before yapping on that we aren't making signings..
Some players who we see as 2nd choice could easily be Slot's first choice! We have no way of knowing yet.

We need a busquets type player and that's a rare one. there is a possibility that our midfield 3 would be sobslai, macca and curtis. yes that's right no natural CDM for a whole season.
None of the three can be called number 6. They play further forward.
Kimmich is on 350k a week, so no chance of us paying him that.
Ugarte has been a disappointment to PSG - he is very 1 dimensional (great defensively, but non-existent as an attacking/creative force). PSG want 60m which is crazy as that is what they paid for him when he was hot; even Man U have baulked at the asking price so I can't see Liverpool going for him.
Zubimendi - in my top 3 for certain. Would bring calm and excellent control and passing technique to our build up play from the back. They'll be looking for maybe 50m Euro for him I reckon (maybe more).
Alan Varela - in my top 3. Has that S. American mix of toughness, technique and footballing intelligence, and would be brilliant alongside Mac. He is a little small though (only 1.77m - 5'8") so alongside Mac I do wonder if teams might try and dominate them in the air. Seems very good value (Transfermarket has him at 35m Euro which would be great value as he's still only 23).
Ederson - The final one of my top 3 (I'd probably have him as my 2nd choice after Varela). A bit of everything, so really more of an 8, but he can do the lot and seems to have a great attitude as well as good technique. I think they were looking for 40m for him ....
The only one of the outliers that Laurence profiled, would for me be Fofana. I thought we should have gone for him in May, when he was on a 25m Euro Relaese Clause. He has good technique but for me it's his power that sets him apart - he is built like a pocket battleship, and would give us something there that we have not had for years in the midfield. He is a regular in the French side and keeping out players like Tchouahmeni, Camavinga, Rabiot and Veretout - he is a bloody good player. The only reason I have not got him in my top 3 is I think Juve are already well advanced in talks to get him, but if we can nick him (about 30m Euro I think) then we should.
BTW Laurence - Scalvini and Magassa are both CBs - both interesting but not as MFs.

Edersons heat map and numbers need to be looked at with caution. Atalanta played man marking throughout the season and that skews his heat map but also his defensive stats. Nonetheless an amazing players.

I don’t think it’s Ugarte even though he would be the easiest available if LFC drops the cash given PSG signed Neves. Doubt it’s Ederson either as Atalanta are notoriously tough negotiators, but I would love to see him come through. Don’t think Sociedad will sell Zubamendi so late in the season as well, and he profiles closer to Macca in my view. Therefore, my money is on David Ornstein 2.0!!!

Idk, maybe my thinking is wrong but I just trust bajcetic to develop to the player we know he can be. I feel like yes, Endo can be improved, but if that's the case, I'd rather see someone in their prime rn, 27-30 where they can immediately slot in and have bajcetic learning from them. Someone like ederson, varela and ugarte just feels like they will hamper bajcetic's development
Which is why neves just seems like the perfect target for me. He's not gonna be that expensive since he's at saudi and if he wants to leave, I don't see them trying to block or obstruct the transfer

Morten Frendrup and Morten Hjulmand are both players that would force Endo and Jones to step up their game. I want to see 4 + professionals in a spot competing to play alongside MacAllister.

Maybe i'll be proven wrong, but i think people completely misunderstand what a Slot '6' could be. Everyone seems to think of a box to box with high defensive output. To me it seems Slot really want control and technical ability to play under pressure and in small spaces, possibly progressive passing to get out of the press quite quickly.
I think people might be surprised with TAA, he's not "his" player, i think he'll have no qualms about putting him on the bench if he still isn't that concerned by his defensive task, after all his career is on the line, Klopp had the luxury of being a legend the fans would have most likely ask for the heads of the owners if he was fired, the same wouldn't happen with Slot.

I don’t for one second think this player is a realistic option at the moment, but Tchouameni would be the absolute dream. Very unfortunate that we missed out on him a couple of summers ago.
Kimmich is by some distance the best player on this list in my opinion, but at 29 I’m unsure if he fits the mould of LFCs transfer philosophy moving forwards.
Varela or Ederson appear to stylistically be the most compatible whilst meeting age/fee/wage requirements, but are they too similar to what we have in Baj & Grav? I think it will end up being one of those two & we will see Endo & Morton moved on.
I don’t really know much about Zubamendi but for RSA to sell their midfield duo in one summer would be surprising unless we’re willing to put forward a significant offer.
