Fun fact Ny driving test are max of 30 mins. Main things are 3.0 turn, parallel park and making right, left turns with constant checking blind spots when needed.
UK 🇬🇧 here. The American driving test is so simple and easy. Over here our test is nearly an hour long and also drive on the highway at 70mph including overtaking other vehicles safely 🙂
It’s crazy how they take points off on signal for 3 point turn . You forgot a signal but your driving is great . It’s always minor mistakes causing fails
@@jimmylin8226 wtf how is that fair? in a real world situation you wouldn’t be penalized for driving 3 mph *Slower* than the speed limit. If you were driving under 10 mph below the speed limit thats fair but thats just ridiculous. I feel like some of the examiners really go on a power trip trying to pick out the little things to fail people on when you know damn well nobody, even the examiners themselves, actually drive “perfect”.
My driving test is tomorrow at Strang, I'll already took my ten classes at the driving school, I'm much improved on turning, I did my parking and 3 point U turn good, just need to be more fuccused and less nervous, I hope I could do my best and pass my exam tomorrow on the first try.
What exactly do they ask for the test ? So far I see it's just driving, parallel parking and a 3 point turn. But are they still going to ask to do like other turns or something ? 🤔 I live in nyc and just want to make sure this is all I'll be needing to know. Someone said a k turn or something
What you have to do for the test is pretty much one parallel park on the right side, one three point turn(which is another term for a K turn), they’re not going to take you on a highway, and basically a drive to show you can actually drive the car. Judgement, engine and steering control, observation, anticipation of road conditions or actions of other drivers or pedestrians….just common sense!…good luck
While exam avoid to take driving school car, if possible take your relatives car with one of them. Drive slowly in the exam around 17 MPH, brake when sloping down, MUST check blind spot While turning, and always give signal. Practice more for perfect turn. You'll definitely PASS. Good luck. 😊
But what if my only option IS to take the road test in a driving school car? I mean I drive well in it anyway. But is that something that don’t work for some people?
Are you taking driving school car or own car? Be confident. Always check blind spot first. Don't miss to Give signal when turning. Break when sloping down from up. Take your time to park. Don't speed. Drive slowly around 16/17 mph. You'll pass tomorrow.
@@ericchowdhury9033 vaiya I will take my own car.but you know in maspeth i did everything what you mentions here but the examiners always give me wrong instructions and said me why i turn slow why this and that on maspeth examiner id was 504.i almost crossed the intersection then he told me to take left turn.see.vaiya my speed was truly within 20-22.but there in maspeth the guy told me im too slow🤷♀️
It's better to take own car. I hope you did enough practice for tomorrow. As you mentioned while turning you were slow, it is also an important part to maintain a minimum speed while turn. This time don't be too slow. Remember It's all about practice to get a perfect turn. As it's your second time, the examiner will be soft to you. Take this advantage. All the best.
i just got my permit. im gonna take 10 classes soon. wish me luck guys. it feels kind of overwhelming. im brand new to the whole car and motor vehicle stuff. yo guys, do i need to learn the ins and outs of a car? like the engine and the other the internal components? do i need to understand that stuff before i start driving? i think i should stay away from manual vehicles until i learn the internal structure and components of a car. cuz all the information feels overwhelming. im just finding out that there are ways to down shift without the use of a clutch. i think i should, just focus on the mechanical side of the car for now...
it’s pretty easy once you do three i didn’t do lessons my dad tought me but no just learn the basic like your dash board n how to read it, gear shift, signal lights, how to control the wheel and stop w out jerking the car / truck

Indeed. Compare to UK it's easy.

It's not ok to have objects on the dash as well as having things hanging from the rear view mirror

Exactly, they have criminals running that business!!!
@@YoungBamily the fact that they take of 10-15 points off on a minor mistake and the passing score is 30 points is sad
I lost 15 points for driving 32 on a 35 road 😭 still passed though

Also thanks for the video, it's very helpful 🙂
Hi guys!
I have a question in NY the parallel parking is on the street or they make you do it using cones. Thanks a lot for your help!
It’s on streets usually never cones in the city
