With Morsy, Leif, hirst, burns and Broadhead missing this was always going to be a real struggle. I think the fans atmosphere was just as flat as the performance. I wonder what version of freddie we could’ve seen if everyone got behind him?
The problem is he doesn't help himself by spurning golden opportunities, why he didn't at least get a shot off for the first one I'll never know. An early goal could have been the spark we needed
Freddie did really well - this is what angers me the most. It was - I dunno - his second start of the season and he almost scored on a couple of occasions.
As often happens the negativity of some of our fans after a tough run baffles me. We had five of our best missing and still created chances against a decent side. A tough night, but when Humphreys is playing left back (and impressively might I add) you know our squad must be stretched. We beat Southampton and all the doubters go into hiding again. Let's at least believe and see ourselves as contenders! In my opinion the only urgent issue is right back. We are getting found out time and time again...
You're talking about the 'I paid my money, I'll say what I want' brigade'. They live within half hour of the ground, expect every second of every game to be be perfect or they moan and groan and boo at the end. TOTALLY embarrassing.
Felt for Freddie. Overall he did a decent job but those 2 early chances missed set the tone and not taking one heaped on the pressure and nerves I dont get the negativity and certainly not the boos - those doing that need to give their heads a wobble!
Agreed he found himself in a lot of the right positions and shots weren't far away. Just wasn't his night! Our surprising success has gone to some fans heads!!
Worst thing about this game was how a section of the Ipswich Town 'fanbase' treated certain players mid game. As for some booing at the final whistle....🤬
At least we didn't lose. With QPR not really threatening either, a Keiran certainly knows his best side but also the nearly guys that did well enough to deal a point. With Southampton pulling up well into the mire, Town need to start pulling these games out, 1st choice players or not. Until we have a couple of drivers that can stimulate the team, wind it up & get these guys moving, we should be okay as long as well don't lose. We need a couple of decent wins now. Not a bad 2023.
They did well to get a point with so many key players out. Luckily despite hammering Town Leeds had an iffy Christmas. Soton seem to be the biggest threat.
Well, thats the Autos out of the question. Morsey and Luongo may as well have not given up on their national teams. I hate to be like this, but we are not holding a 3 point lead against Southampton for 20 games. Playoffs now. I adore KM but not replacing Jackson and Ladapo last transfer window was a rookie mistake.
@@mikemolloy2978 When you can see your team and huge point advantage just slipping away, taking 3 points from a possible 12 at such a crucial part of the season it's a hard pill to swallow.

The season wasn't even half way, but to be honest half the fans only crawl out of the woodwork when the team is doing well, as for the die hard fans their opinions may well of been different.
@@dannym670 Even staying in the league had to be objective number 1. Which has been obtained. Anything else is totally a bonus. We have been treated to some amazing football by an amazing manager. But you are right. To even be in this position now is waayyy above any realistic fan could ever have imagine. But STILL. Its horrible to see it starting to slip away. 😕
Alternatively we had a suspension, numerous injuries and a virus going around the club and so KM had to field a much weakened side...And moaning and groaning doesn't help ANYONE!😡
We have a paper thin squad( subs wise ) with no quality ,and I get bored of “ fans “ saying Jackson is a handful ,he causes mayhem he runs tirelessly ect ect.He is not even a decent first division player.Ball ,bang average,Ladapo is not a championship player.We are getting found out ,and yes I am still very very pleased with this campaign ,its been great.However to Chuck a 10 point lead down to 3 in 3 weeks is shocking.
Tactical advantage is gone. They all know how to play against Town. One game at a time mantra stopped working. Fans don't get it as they keep fooling themselves with things that are already in the past. I wanted Williams in the team. I wanted Ladapo playing more. I don't know why but they were horrible. I see Ipswich fans happy with Humphreys, little they know about football. He's bad at defending, he doesn't have body strength, he's slow, he won't win any header, can't stretch and can't run with the ball which makes him totally useless as a left back. He would not get into any other 91 league teams in that position but injuries force him to play there in the Championship. Ipswich should try to loan him out and let him play in his preferred position. On a side note I think Ipswich are missing Oxford's duo: Leigh and Edwards.
