I love these reviews. As a working class hunter, I can't afford to miss on such a big purchase. Your honest reviews serve the community very well. Keep it up my friend.
Always the best reviews hands down. I really appreciate all the reviews because like someone else said most of us just dont have the funds and time to check out all the gear we wish we could. This has helped me for sure. Thank you for all you do.
Thanks Matt for another honest saddle review as always! Certainly appreciate your opinion and time to help the saddle hunting community make an informed decision on what to expect. Also, thanks to you and Trophyline for a chance to win the kit.
Another honest review, thanks Madhunts! looks like with some minor tweaks the Venatic Saddle will be a great saddle! Thank you Trophyline for letting Matt put out an honest review of your product! Good stuff all around..........
@@madhuntsadventures The first season was definately a learning experience. So far its been a great saddle, I'm enjoying it very much. It was my first year using this type of setup and I didn't even use my climber last year. Looking forward to more time in a saddle and loving the mobility and agility. Thanks again!
Great review Matt! It was really awesome to meet you at the Dixie Deer Classic a couple weeks ago. I had a booth out there as well. It was hard to get away from mine but finally made it over to your booth before the doors opened Sunday. I was hoping to see this saddle there but this review told me everything I need to know. Thanks again for the thorough review and keep up the good work!

Thanks for a informative review. I like the size of the bridge loops and the overall material and appearance of the saddle. Keep up on the good reviews.
Great review! Glad to have the help in deciding which saddle works best and the details on the design are always important coming from someone who has been there done that. Thank you for the time and effort needed to get this to us all!
I’ve been looking and wondering more about trophyline products, great review on the venatic. Would love to be an owner of one of these saddles and more gear from them. Thanks for the honest reviews and chances at amazing gear
I currently use a modified Trophyline Covert Lite. I’ve enjoyed it but would love to upgrade to the Venatic. Thanks for doing the reviews and giveaways. Well done.
Thank you Matt for another great review. Looks like it would be a good saddle once you got it set to your own liking. As always thank you for the time you put into all the reviews. I look forward to each one.
Thank you for all the support, Aaron! I truly appreciate it. I agree, once you dial it in and/or maybe change out the bridge and shorter prusik loops I think it could be really good.
First and foremost thanks for your time and as always Matt, great and very detailed review. Your always giving back not only with your info but the opportunity of sharing equipment. God bless you and be safe.
Thank you for the comment, Tony! I appreciate it. The manufacturers also deserve a big "thank you" for allowing me to give away the saddles. God bless you as well!
Great review! Really appreciate your honesty! I started out with Trophyline back in 2010. Wanted to upgrade and considered the Venatic but I went with a Lattitude Classic 2. No noises buckles to deal with and pouch setup more versatile. Also, the Amsteel bridge was another factor in my decision. Stay safe!
Great review Matt. Wondering if you are hearing any common themes at the shows you started doing regarding what people are liking best out of the saddles you have had on hand? A summary video from each show might be interesting.
Thank you, Chuck! Great question about the Dixie Deer Classic response on saddles! To be completely honest with you, every manufacturer had a saddle that people liked. Saddle purchases are unique because every person is built different. That is exactly why I'm doing these shows and meetups so that folks can try on multiple saddles until they find the "one" that works best for them. In a nutshell, there wasn't one saddle that ruled as king over the rest. Thank you for the question and video suggestion. 👍🏼
@@madhuntsadventures Thanks for confirming my suspicion. That is the exact same reason I’ve been doing my meetup in Wisconsin. The only way for a person to figure out what is best for them is to sit in as many as possibly and decide from there.
You have full time job doing saddle reviews. So many coming out of the woodwork. I’d like to be entered into drawing so I can lose again. Lol. Thanks for your time
I do. I have mentioned that to a few guys already. If it were my saddle I personally would change out the prusik loops on the ropes and put a different bridge on it. I should have mentioned that in the review but I was only focused on reviewing the products they sent and didn't think to at the time. Changing the bridge out and having bridge loop adjustments would have only increased the ability to add comfort in my opinion. Great question!
Matt totally agree about prusik length n bridge length. I switched mine over to a vital ground outdoors bridge along with a rope belt and now the saddle is money.
Great feedback, Josh! It is nice to hear an opinion from someone using the saddle. I have mentioned switching out the bridge and prusik loops in prior comments so it's cool that you have done that. 👍🏼
Another saddle review already. Man, you've been busy. It looks amazing. I like the rubber in the back of the belt area to prevent slipping. Seems like a smart idea.
Thank you, Allen! I appreciate you watching. I only have one saddle that hasn't been claimed by the winner at this point and I'll be doing another giveaway soon.
Wicked Matt! As always a detailed and honest review. Did you ever manage to contact Stini gear about their saddles? Cheers and thanks for the giveaway!
Thank you, Jake! I did look at their website but I have not reached out to them at this point. I've been pretty busy with a lot of gear to review at the moment but it looks like they have a lot of stuff to offer. Thank you for checking in!
When you said in the short that you liked the price point ($479.99) as one of your top 3, I had to go to the website to see if that included the platform. I still can't get around how this collection of material costs more than my 12' muddy two seater tower stand. I get it probably takes more man hours to make and that it's made in the USA, it's just still hard for me to get my head around I love the review, as always, you do an outstanding job! It seems like they left a lot of room to shorten everything up to account for just having the two sizes. If we've learned anything, we've learned that we need to spend time in the gear before we need to spend time in the gear. Again, great job! It would be great if when we go to these manufacturers web sites and see their other saddles if they would link to the videos they ask you to make. I saw that PLATOW PACK, when are they gonna start sending you those to try out:)
Love the feedback, laferriere6! Thank you! I can't speak to any of the companies price points but I'm sure they have a ton of overhead that completely eats into their price-per-saddle cost. Not sure of any of that so I'll not even try. lol As far as the review, thank you for the support and comment. 👍🏼 Trophyline did mention a pack review while we were talking so I may have one coming in the near future.
Looks to me like Trophyline should have put as much thought into the bridge and linesman's ropes as they did their saddle. I do like a lot of the innovative ideas incorporated into the saddle but the accessories not so much. Yet another great review Matt. Thanks so much for doing what you do and helping new saddle hunters make better choices in their gear purchases. If I win that saddle I will surely use it but I'll probably make up my own tether & linesman's belt and maybe even my own bridge. Thanks again Matt. Great review.
Thank you for the feedback and continued support, Michael! I appreciate it. Yeah you could easily change out the prusik loops and bridge and it would add to the adjustability and comfort I'm sure. 👍🏼

Great honest review! I don't mind minimalist. I used a sit drag for awhile. Lol. I better hurry up and win a saddle, eventually you're going to run out of give aways. 😂
😂😂 Yeah you'd better hurry up! What seems to be the problem??? I think we'll have plenty of saddles to give away with as popular as saddle hunting has become because of social media. Thanks for watching, Goltine!
Interesting review Matt. I truly don't understand leaving off any type of horizontal bridge adjustment. I guess that could be resolved by adding another prussic to the carabiner side. Seems like at that price they would include it as an option at least. Keep up the great reviews!
Thank you for the feedback, Tom! Changing out the bridge is definitely an option I would consider if I owned the Venatic. It would add more adjustability and overall comfort I'm sure. Thanks for watching.
I do think that would help, John. That is why I wanted to point out how long they were and that I needed to shorten the prusik on the bridge and double girth hitch the other side. Shortening them on the ropes would help as well in my opinion. You could also change out the bridge all together and make it adjustable on the bridge loops if you wanted to but I was only testing out the items in the kit. Thanks for watching.
Ive never set in a trophyline saddle but have had their packs. I love my TX5 Lonestar. Very comfortable and i feel very secure in it. Wonder if you used your 1 sticking ropes with the venatic, if it would help in the comfort. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching, Yak N Rak! Sounds like you have a good set up! Well it may have helped with the tether but the prusik loop on the bridge would still have been long. I got it as short as I could by the extra wraps but it wasn't enough. Changing out the bridge and making it adjustable up and down the loops would probably help and getting a shorter prusik loop as well.
Nice review. I like the color scheme, but not having an adjustable bridge pitch might be an issue for some people. I suppose you could use another closed loop. I use the Trophyline Mission Platform and love it though!
Correct, Tommy. You could change out the bridge entirely as well as the prusik loops on the ropes if you want to. I was only reviewing the saddle and ropes that come with it to give everyone the specific info related to the kit but I should have mentioned that. Thanks for watching!
Well the first saddle came out in the early 60's but social media has allowed saddle hunting to become mainstream. I wish I had heard about it years ago as well. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching, Ron!

I wonder if the saddle sliding up could be reduced by a shorter prussics. Make it more lateral pressure vs vertical? Great review as always.
Thumbs up 👍👍, good review, thanks 👍
Thank you, Kevin! I appreciate it.
Another great one!
Thank you, NoJoe Outdoors! I appreciate it!
Good review.
Thank you, Robert! 👍🏼
So many different ones for sure, wished they had them years ago.
Well the first saddle came out in the early 60's but social media has allowed saddle hunting to become mainstream. I wish I had heard about it years ago as well. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching, Ron!
