I actually know some lore revolving around some of the characters:
• Seth's entire story is weird as he was one of, like, 20 copies of himself, one of which is Abel. Anyways, the Seth that is playable in SF4 and SFV was a Seth robot who wanted to do his own thing instead of listening to Bison. Bison gets defeated and then Seth does. This version, however, has the consciousness of a Seth who still wants to defeat Bison, even though he is gone at the end of SFV's story. Finally, the body is an older prototype of a Seth robot.
• G was noticed by basically every important Street Fighter character through a video he posted in the SF version of RUclips, FooTube.
• Menat is actually Rose's student.
• The reason why Sagat is not in the Lair of the Four Kings is because he quit. Also, the tiger that appears in Sagat's intro was adopted by Sagat when it was a cub.

Regardless of the public perception i think SFV is a great game and i reminisce fondly about it sometimes. There's tons of fun stuff to talk about and even if the game struggled at the start i think it ended a solid gameplay experience. It's a shame that unlike other more well regarded games it's hard to find someone to go back and play around and have fun like you guys did. This video makes me really happy and i can't wait for you guys to play SF6.

@CCuppy29 ah yes, because SA1, the minus on hit (to the point where chun gets a SA2 punish, and ken can get shippu as well), doesn't fully connect unless in corner super, and SA2, the air-only, exclusively works on Hugo in a combo that is just throw into it and isnt real because the Hugo could just quick rise, really blow the one where you can at LEAST play a character that can do stuff out of the water huh?
Also, why did you reply to me when A) I never said that it was his best super (I also disagree with SA3 being the worst, have you ever seen SA2?)

The shimmering gold patterns on G's skin are the continents of the world.
They don't really explain who or what he is, like even GILL, who is basically a God, doesn't even know what to make of him, only that he "radiates with a 'familiar energy.'" For all we know, he's some sort of elemental or godly embodiment of earth, or just a crank with weird geomancy powers. Either way, he's easily the coolest character in the franchise and probably one of the coolest in fighting games as a whole.

30:54 theyre not beefeaters. Beefeaters are the ones with the dresses and the wide brimmed hats that guard the crown jewels. The one with the bearskin hats are just called royal guards.
Something funny that wasn't mentioned in the stream was that Rashid was announced on 9/11 which makes it much more absurd when you realise that he's from Saudi Arabia AND his stage is a plane flying through a city with tall buildings

I actually had no fucking idea lmao. STILL pretty silly and coldly corporate to add as a feature at all, and to incentivize people with in game currency to use it... I bet you they forced them to keep it on at Capcom sponsored events too (could be wrong here).
@@grayfruit You are wrong about that last part, Capcom Cup itself had the ads since its their event, but things like EVO turned it off.
I agree it's a little annoying, but Capcom never made it a secret that you could turn it off like I assume a number of other companies would have done if SFV was their game.

I really hope that the exact connection between G and Q is explained someday. If G *is* Q, then I want to know what happened that turned him such a bombastic person to a mute mystery man.
Edit: I also love the goofier characters like Birdie and F.A.N.G in this game, I’m hoping A.K.I in SF6 will bring a bit of that goofiness since my one complaint about SF6 is that there’s no silly/weird characters.
Honda, Gief and Blanka have enough sillyness and stupidity for the lifesapn of this game.

i really like that every game up until now the first match has been default ken and ryu, but as soon as we get to the game with the goofiest costumes Gray and Lark immediately pick the costumes farthest from default ken and ryu. its so funny

The plane stage did have some controversy due to it being Rashid's stage. It even flies over Dubai.
The trick to charge inputs: you can just hold down and back to charge both, then just slide to up back or down foreward to do whichever input you want!

I remember picking this up on a Steam sale for around 10 dollars five years ago, and despite the amount of content locked behind a paywall, i still enjoyed my time online as a Ken main in SFV.

I poked around on the wiki, and apparently, the Dojo stage is basically like a Secret Base from Gen 4 of Pokemon? You can buy furniture, cars, and assorted garbage and arrange it around the stage, and you can host lobbies on your custom stage for other people to join. That being said, because this is Street Fighter V, you could only get those cosmetics from lootboxes. It's a decent idea, at least.
On the whole G is Q thing, G has a stackable buff system, and even funnier, his Skill 2 lets him do a taunt that reduces damage based on stacks, one of the poses he strikes for it is Q's taunt(stack 2)
Many of his moves are also reminiscent of Q's but with grace and less self-destructive behavior, like one of his Triggers is just Total Destruction but good, and iirc he can replicate Critical Combo

Doesn't G have the super where he does a speech and it just kills the opponent?
That's actually closer to R. Mika - her V-skill with the microphone can be held down for a long time, with her hype-up speech continuing and giving her next special attack (or maybe only command grab?) increased damage all the way up until a point where the next special/command grab will just kill the opponent from full health.

There's something so funny to me about top level players, who have more hours in this game than everyone else combined, have to disable some stages because the backgrounds, like, hypnotize them and shit and they can't play right.
Nah some stages were banned because it caused lag and gave unfair advantages to certain characters. (Like birdie on the beach one) plus the plane one was causing motion sickness in some people
Its not being "hypnotized", just distracted visually, a lot of the stages are really messy and make it hard to focus only on the enemy movement, or otherwise visually obstructive like the aforementioned water on the beach
Some player skins are also banned for similar reasons(Pyron skin frex being really hard to read motions on), or being Laura on network tv

Im just sad I didn't have the money or time to get into Street Fighter V when it was around. I really love the music, the stages and all of the characters. May have not been a great game to some, but I would have enjoyed it
Now time to stop the real street fighters and play all the bootlegs or strange fighting games (I recommend idol fighter)
