Dutch History: Hans Gordijn Invents a Steam Powered Motorcycle (1940)

EN - The young Hans Gordijn has equipped his Eysink motorcycle with a small steam engine mounted above the front wheel that drives the front wheel, after the latest petrol facilities. Gordijn works as a machinist at the Steam Company "Netherlands" and is the nephew of an Amsterdam fire chief. The motorcycle reaches an average of 30 km per hour with a consumption of 8 liters of water per hour.
NL - De jonge Hans Gordijn heeft zijn Eysink motorfiets, na de laatste benzinevoorzieningen, voorzien van een boven het voorwiel gemonteerde kleine stoommachine die het voorwiel aandrijft. Gordijn werkt als machinist bij de Stoommaatschappij "Nederland" en is neef van een Amsterdamse brandweercommandant. De motorfiets bereikt gemiddeld 30 km per uur met een verbruik van 8 liter water per uur.
