    In winter the method is a great tactic for a bite, might not be for everyone but it's easy and keeps you active , working the swim can be the difference between a freezing cold inactive blank and something 1/2 decent popping up , and like you said Shaun if you can find em' you could catch a lot of em' .
    Thanks for taking the time to make and share the video fella .

    Another tip aswell I like to add another layer of pellets or ground bait to the feeder to pinch the hook bait in between the layers so it’s the top layer that falls off as it hits the surface of the water it’s called a double skin 👊🎣

      I mentioned that in the video when casting out I thought, double skinned the rod cast at the showing fish!

    Great video and a good reminder to me to go BACK to this method! Switched away from this method as I started fishing a lake that this is not allowed. So, change of tactics with pva mesh was needed. Now, this year, I am fishing other venues that do allow the feeder. Blanked on Friday on public water, was thinking that I need to go back to the feeder. It has worked before, it will work again! Thanks for the reminder!

    I always carry this. It has done me some nice carp over the years. You can also get a nice bed of bait going using it. Well done for bringing it back up. 👏

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  5 дней назад +1

      It’s a great tactic and if you keep recasting to the same area then you could build up some feed for sure 👍🏻

  • @dannybartlett4225
    @dannybartlett4225 3 дня назад +1

    The method started in the carp industry long before it was used in feeder fishing, there absolutely deadly when loaded with paste, another little edge is a stiff hook link so your rig is constantly reseting itself great shout you use what works don't worry about what the guy next to you is using,

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  2 дня назад

      The match boys refined the method. I used it to good effect in the 90s, the original Richworth method feeders were the one back then!

  • @stevep119
    @stevep119 5 дней назад +3

    I think you will find the method feeder comes from carp fishing and was adopted by match fishermen. We were using the original method feeder for carp fishing over 20 years ago. They just went out of favour with carp fishermen due to limitations of what you could use on them. As opposed to a bag you could fill with hard pellet, crushed boilie, PVA friendly particles, maggot etc. things you can't really load a method feeder up with.

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  5 дней назад

      The original method feeder was a carp tactic, but the flatbed feeder was designed for the match market. I used method feeders back in the 90s at linear Fisheries before it all went day ticket, used to catch loads of carp on the margins under arming a method ball out 👌🏼

    • @stevep119
      @stevep119 5 дней назад +1

      @@TheFishingBloggers the match fishermen took the idea and improved on it no argument about that, the flatbed and hybrid feeders are fantastic I use them and if you got the fish feeding confidently because of how to load them you can catch fish with no bait on the hook done that on heavily stocked commercials lol. and I remember the big coconut method feeders we packed loads of vitalin on and banged out. as I said the reason pva bags and mesh took over in popularity was simply more options of what you could put in them that wouldn't stick to a method.

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  4 дня назад

      @@stevep119 vitalin - shame it got discontinued, used to fill the river in with it and the carp loved it!

    • @stevep119
      @stevep119 4 дня назад +1

      @TheFishingBloggers it was fantastic stuff basically meat flavoured maize and you could go to a farm feed store and buy a 20kg bag for like 9 quid back in the day carp loved the stuff

    It works well into the warmer months On well stocked water's. I've been using this method for many years on my local water mainly with mini pellets. I also add a small amount of hemp oil directly into the feeder. This method has resulted in me catching a good amount of the lakes largest residents. Keep up the great work 👍

    I fish the method year round. Its usually what i use 90% of the time.
    Tbh i think its best in warm weather when the fish are eating loads. Its very popular in SE Asia as a fishing method for that purpose. Just look at places like Bungsamran. And yes, thats often floated but works on the bottom too for both the catfish and the carp.
    It could limit distance a bit when fishing a really big feeder but i think the pros outweigh the cons massively.

    Been fishing the method for years and had great results on it them only downside is can't really fish them in water over 8ft as the bait won't be on when it gets to bottom

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  4 дня назад

      I’ve used them on big reservoirs for bream in depths of 15ft and still work well, just need to use a denser mix and double skin.

    Thanks for the reminder I use to use the fox 3 veined method feeder using dinomite black method mix with crushed hemp the trick I found was to in the liquids that go into it but make sure it's ready by making it haft an hour before you use it I did need to add water as the match went on to keep it sticky so it stays on the feeder during the cast

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  5 дней назад
